It was a …rather chill day. We didn't do much, but it was also a day to reflect, to remember, as well as to spend every waking minute with each other.

The plan for the day? I get to actually show off Buoysel my amazing cooking skills. Took me two weeks to plan the perfect meal. When I say perfect, I had to make something that he'll really like, and to accommodate his special appetite. So we agreed on buttery-garlic tilapia with rice and fresh garden salad, a la Megana. I even told him I would also bake a cake as well as some cookies, for dessert, so yay! I get to spend most of my time in the kitchen, cooking for my amazing person. <3

That was dinner, by the way. I made him breakfast as well. Pancakes! I used my special recipe instead of actually following the box directions. I always use 1 egg and 1 cup of milk instead of using water, because the egg actually helps pancakes grow fluffier. I would have also used cinnamon, but I didn't want to make it complicated, so I wanted to make things easy. (pictures will be posted in day 5, or check my twitter!)

After enjoying the breakfast I made, we decided to head on out for another small tour of Kansas City and its surrounding areas. I was finally able to get to know Kansas Speedway! NASCAR will be there on Mother's Day weekend and sometime in October. I'm hoping to try to make it to the October race and drag Buoysie along. I hope he doesn't mind my constant fangirling and my whining towards my drivers. Then we visited Kansas City's largest outlet malls, the Legends. It was pretty small, but it has a TON of shopping opportunities. I would literally drag Buoysie to every store I've seen. We even went to this one furniture store that's like a Walmart, but it doesn't sell clothing. Probably has become one of my favorite stores so far here in Kansas City.

Buoysie wanted to go back to his apartment and take a nap, while in the meantime, I played with Delilah a little, and chilled. This also allowed me the opportunity to get started on the dinner I had planned to make for him. I marinated the tilapia with butter, and some garlic salt mixed in with parsley. Then I ended up steaming the rice with some chicken stock, just to spice things up a little (and to show off my late grandmother's touch.) Once he woke up, I invited him to check out my cake baking skills, and showing off what I had to offer (hey, I don't follow the box as much, so I'm dangerous).

Yes, cooking did take a while, and I even volunteered to wash the dishes afterwards, even if he insisted several times that I shouldn't. I don't want to leave him with the burden of all the dishes. :P We watched a couple of movies while we ate dinner and dessert. And if anyone asks, yes! He absolutely loved everything. Ask him! Tilapia a la Megana was a winner.

As 12 midnight struck after that last movie, it dawned on me that it was my last full day here in Kansas City. So much has happened throughout the weekend, as well as I was able to learn more about Buoysie. Everything during that weekend was spot-on perfect. I'll be reflecting on that a little more on Day 5, though.

day 5 was written during my flight back, will be posted tomorrow~

Tilapia's a kind of fish. And that dish sounds really good Megan.
