And no, I'm not talking about students going to parties and getting drunk. I'm talking about stupid things that the administration does.
First off, if you need to renovate a dorm, the smart time to do it would be over the summer. You know, when nobody is living there. The not-so-smart time to do it would be at 9 in the morning on a weekday in the middle of the semester, when unlucky residents like myself get the pleasure of being woken up to the sounds of diesel engines and large drills being bored into concrete. Fun, huh?
Which leads into my second point. If for some reason, you're going to do these renovations with a whole bunch of students currently in their rooms, try not to do something stupid like set the fire alarms off. I really did not enjoy leaving an online chat with one of my friends and hiking to the library just so I could continue the chat with her. Really, it was not appreciated. Not that having fire alarms so sensitive that they go off whenever they come into contact with dust particles is a good idea either, but...
Third, please stop installing traffic signals in locations where they do more harm than good. There is this one signal they put up at the beginning of the semester that is in a prime spot to back up traffic for half a mile and cause headaches and frustration in the process. And we, as college students, actually paid to have this inconvenience provided for us. Nice, huh?
And last, but certainly not least, the very last thing our school needs is a new football team and stadium. I mean, why? There's an NFL team down the road and nobody hangs around campus on the weekends anyway. I have no idea why the football team was given the okay. Really, it just boggles my mind.
Okay, I'm sure you've heard enough of my ranting without going into the awful campus shuttle system that never shows up on time and stops in weird places so the drivers can smoke/talk on their cell phones/sell illicit substances, so I'll just leave it at that.
