So, looking back at my old blogs, I made one right at the start of my teacher training. Since I'm now two weeks off finishing my first year as a fully qualified teacher it seems like a good place to take a look back.

It seems like my first few lessons (according to that blog) went pretty well. It certainly wasn't all like that, in that first year I experienced a few difficulties - both my own fault and from some... interesting pupils. A few disaster lessons, a few troublesome kids, but overall OK.

For this year, I've been working in quite a nice school. Quite closeknit, compared to where I trained, which is both a blessing and a curse. I've struggled through high-pressure parents evenings, hundreds of hand written reports, and difficult colleagues who can't get out of their very fixed, decade old methods and ideals.

I think I'm doing well though, and I have a secure job for next year too. Maybe I can whittle them down, I think I'm probably one of the more dominant members of staff in our section - whilst I'm cautious about what I say I do stand my ground and assert myself to a problem. I'm also getting back a semi-permanent form group which only adds to my sway. It'll be fun.

Anyway, two more weeks of stress then I'll be on summer break. Fantastic!
