  • So I'm watching the news and then there's this article about this soap opera called "Home and Away" it's going to introduce a gay love storyline and parents are already *****ing over this, same with critics saying it will damage the children's mind. But I don't see how gay love is worse then teen pregnancy, drug abuse etc that has already been shown in the soap opera

so yeah what's your opinion, do you agree that gay love is worse than everything else? or do you think these people need to be shot several times?

Personally people like the parents and critics like mentioned above need to be removed from the earth forever

  • I don't reaaly like Home & Away, but I don't see how a simply storyline about gay love would damage children's minds.
Like you said, they've already had teen pregnancy and drug abuse, you can also add murder to that list.
Neaughbours had a gay love storyline, two in fact, but I haven't seen a difference in children since then.

  • I don't like home and away either but I don't know how hard it is for a parent to turn off a tv(if they don't want their kids to know about same sex love), it must be rocket science or something

  • I don't watch the show, but as long as a show doesn't get too steamy in general it shouldn't be that bad for kids. After all, we are a changing society and these soap shows are meant to depict that, no?

I know for a fact the NZ "equivalent" has already covered that and stuff much worse imo... such as serial killers, gangs etc.

    Neighbours is better :3

Though for Neighbours (in the two instances), it was one offs (excluding when Lana and Sky kissed again at the end I think), while H&A is willing to make it into a storyline... meh. OH AND! Both Neighbours storylines were actually not between gay characters (besides Lana), so with H&A making them actually gay and not a confusion of emotions... it makes sense.

Personally, they should just calm down about it. I agree that gay sex won't be anymore poisoning for the mind than the heterosexual sex on TV is.

All-in-all, just don't let your children watch that show, duh! >=O

Huh!? British soap operas have had gay people in for *years*. I suppose they're making a deal over it because the Australian soaps are so happy...ah, they really annoy me. I watch neighbours everyday and sometimes it just annoys me how they sort everything out in 10 seconds and can't bear to have a grudge. Me and my brother and sister's just call it Neighborgs because they all act borgish rather than real people...Oh, and also how they just walk into each other houses. Have they not heard of locks!? And how interfering that doctor person is, I mean, he's everyone's friend yet he treats everyone, there's no privacy, one of the girls was a family friend yet had to go to him when she was pregnant o.O. The only time something can go wrong is when they go out on a trip to the forest where there will be a forest fire or someone falls down a pit or a mad person who has a fire obsession will burn you. I swear too much sunshine goes to your head. Today some police turned up at the school because some of the children had silly string. W...T...F...it was supposed to be a "madness" day at their school where they were all supposed to rebel (lol?) and all that happened was someone set off a fire alaram and someone had silly string. Stuff like that happened everyday at my school, yet they get police turning up because of it? It shows you how annoyingly happy they are...

Then I watch Eastenders and get annoyed at how every screams, yells and everything goes wrong. It makes me annoyed because I just want something to go right for a change. But then I remember Neighbours and hope it doesn't XD

So yeah, watching Neighborgs and Eastenders balances it out lol. I've been watching neighbours for about 1 year and Eastenders for about 4

Oh yeah, in answer to the question, one type of sexuality isn't more acceptable than another. You are what you are and it's stupid to censor it. I hate people who say gay people are offesive to children, it makes no sense.

Do children even watch Soap Operas? Or am I just out of the loop?
(And omg Jorah I've never seen you talk so much.)

According to them same sex love is against nature.
Nature says things need to die to create life.
    We're not dying enough.
We're NOT suppose to live this long. We. don't. have. room.
Gay love = no children/adopting already born children.
    Less Children = More room.

    Therfore
Gay Love = Save the Cheerleader World.
