Am I doing this right?

I dunno, while playing through Soul Silver, I realized I had suddenly spiked in difficulty and then lowered to really, really easy. I know I shouldn't have beaten Jasmine before beating Chucky, but suddenly I get to the Lake of Rage/Rocket Hideout area and start questioning whether or not I actually went the right way after Ecruteak City. Can someone tell me whether or not I'm going through the main path right?

Also, my computer's graphics driver broke down so now I can't get my promotional digiegg ;_;

Ok, I'm going off memory here, but I this is the order I think you're meant to do things in.

Once you're done in Ecruteak you head to Olivine, talk to Jasmine in the lighthouse then Surf to Cianwood, get the medicine and defeat Chuck. After that head back to Olivine and give the medicine to Jasmine, then head to the gym and battle her. Upon beating Jasmine head back through Ecruteak to Mahogany and then up to the Lake of Rage. Talk to Lance and then head to the Mahogany Rocket Hideout, finish that and then you can battle Pryce at the Mahogany gym.

Right, I was just feeling unsure after the hideout got so easy with the levels going down by a lot.

On the whole, I actually find SoulSilver a lot more challenging than the other Pokemon games I've played.

In my original Gold run, I first defeated the Rockets and Pryce and then went to Olivine. Did they fix it so you have to go to Olivine first now? XD
