  • Day 3 was amazing!

Seeing as this was the first con that I tried out the whole "panel-hopping" type of thing, I decided to do so by visiting a few panels scheduled for today before going into my third volunteer shift in the afternoon. Sadly, I did end up going on my own today, as my boyfriend stayed home dealing with the "con crud". He finally followed my advice and stayed home.

First off, right as I got here at around 10:30, I went into the Henry Winkler panel. For those who don't know, Henry Winkler was the actor who played Fonsie in Happy Days, and he was also on Arrested Development for several episodes. This was my favorite panel I've been in during the whole con. He was super funny and hilarious, and he also gave a motivational speech about not stressing out during school and final exams and such. One of the quotes I remember from him was "I've taken Geometry for four years. Since then, I have not heard ANYONE use the word 'hypotenuse'."

Then on to the Stan Lee panel. Honestly I learned so much about the man who created the Marvel universe. My boyfriend would have loved his Q&A panel seeing that he is a huge fan of the Marvel comics. I even learned a little more about how the Hulk was made to be the superhero he is today. He was originally going to be grey! However, when the first comic prints were out, it wasn't all clear enough to be viewed, and Stan Lee did not like how it came out. He then thought about how there are RARELY any super heroes that are green, and for most people, green is the most hideous color out there (coming from a person whose favorite color is green lolol), sooo he changed Hulk's color to green, and it came out better than originally planned. Outcome from fans went much better than ever.

Finally, on to the Gotham panel! Anyone watch that show? I'm almost done with the first season, and hopefully I will be done by the time the 2nd season rolls around! Really love the actors that came out and answered questions. <3

I really wanted to do more panel hopping, such as joining the George Takei panel, the Rosario Dawson panel, as well as Jeremy Shada's panel (the guy that voices Finn from Adventure Time!), but I had to be at the Registration booths by 4 pm! So glad these panels are on Youtube so I could watch though!

Kinda getting sad now that tomorrow is the last day of the con! bf said he's feeling a little better so he's hoping to come tomorrow. If not, I told him I'll meet at his place after my final shift. With or without him, I will enjoy the rest of the convention as much as I can! <3

  • Bummer you didn't get to see Jeremy Shada. I saw him at Megacon (with Olivia Olson) and he's quite the funny person to go see a panel for!
