That was my team when I beat Red, lmao. (Can you spot the shiny HM slave?) I didn't even intend to find him! I was wandering around Mt Silver hoping to level up my Feraligatr somewhat. :( The stuff on the first floor wasn't high enough level to bother with and as I climbed higher, I kept running into things I couldn't OHKO so I figured "maybe there's less Sneasel and Quagsire on higher levels!" Then next thing I know, I'm walking down a tunnel and coming out on the summit with Red.

"HAHA. Well, Aligatueur is half dead with little PP but let's see how badly I lose!"

God VS Red

So I tossed him a Hyper Potion (of which I had like 20), saved, and challenged Red. And then nearly won. Granted, I used 3 Max Revives and nearly all of my 10 Revives... as well as nearly all of my Hyper Potions, but I still got him down to his last Pokémon (Snorlax) before wiping out.

"Maybe I can do this! It'd be incredibly cheap, but maybe I can do this!"

So I try again, this time not sending out Aligatueur first against his Pikachu. XD; Pharamp takes it down fairly easily. For his Lapras, Ceriflor used Leech Seed before fainting and then when I revived her, it went back into effect which was a huge help in both making sure I didn't die and whittling down the enemy's HP. :'D Used the same strategy with Blastoise and Snorlax, haha. Venusaur went down in like two Fly attacks from Nostenfer. And Charizard was probably the hardest thing. :( It nearly fainted me every time it attacked so I was constantly healing and making sure I had at least one Pokémon left each time because it kept getting critical hits that knocked me out. ;o; But eventually I took the offensive and paralysed it with Pharamp which gave Aligatueur the right of way to attack first, and and Aqua Tails coupled with it taking off most of its HP with Flare Blitz's prior (and the hail) and I woooon!

And then sat there going "holy crap I used all my Hyper Potions... maybe I should turn the game off and come back when I don't need all 20-something of them" but as I was thinking that, the game started saving so... oh well! 8|

Honestly, I'm not that bothered by how cheap my battle was. XD; I really, really was not looking forward to grinding considering the highest level Pokémon I was finding were like... LV45. >_> My original intention was to get to ~LV 70 before challenging him but that would've taken forever and far more patience than I actually have. So now I get to train to a higher level at my leisure since I already set the game to Beaten at Backloggery and it won't suck the fun out of the game by making it so much of a chore. :'D

But yeah, 20-30 levels lower with only 10 revives and I did it. Yaaaay!

This blog needs more Cherrim!

As I mentioned, I actually had no real intention of beating Red so soon. I've spent most of the last week casually collecting Gym Leader numbers for rematches and otherwise just wandering around playing Voltorb Flip doing virtually nothing in-game.

Last night I decided I wanted to collect all 5 Shiny Leaves for Ceriflor so she could get the Leaf Crown thingy. :'D It probably took close to an hour or two. XD; It went really well until Leaf #4. I was along Route 24 and running through the grass, stopping every few steps to see if Ceri had found anything. But for some reason, Route 24 had her like... spastic. XD;

Every action was either spinning in circles, rolling in the grass, singing and humming, or else it required a very large heart in the textbox and hugging me or something. It was absolutely adorable but it wasn't a Shiny Leaf. :'( It was actually a bit weird, too, especially once I went to another location and she did really boring things like stare at nothing instead. Found the next leaf at the next route really quickly, though, and then the last leaf took a long time too. But still. Route 24. Cherrim love it? XD


Once you collect all 5 Shiny Leaves, you can head back to Ethan/Lyra's house and s/he'll form a crown for you and you get a little certificate. :'D The certificate is adorable and please ignore my Cherrim's horrible, horrible nature which I only just noticed yesterday when I set out to find these things. XDD; (I don't know how she still manages to kick so much ass with such a detrimental nature, srsly.)

Haha, also she's a bit spoilt as far as attention goes. xD When I was on Route 9 searching, I turn back to an annoyed face and "Ceriflor wants attention now! Play along?" with one of those "yes/no" prompts. The first time I said yes, the response was something like "Ceriflor loves playing with Ventus!" which was adorable. I said no out of curiosity the next time and it was like... "Ceriflor wants Ventus to pay more attention to it!" or something. Ceri was like 10 levels ahead of everything else and I've almost always got her exclusively walking behind me. XD; I... I don't think she needs any more attention than that...

Oh and while I was grabbing the pics of the Shiny Leaf things off my camera I found this from aaages ago when I was in the Rocket Hideout in Mahogany.


Just imagining a Cherrim trying to intimidate a foe by glaring... awww! Would be even harder to take seriously if it weren't an emo Cherrim. xD; (At least this is better than some point later on in the game, I think in the Radio Tower, when Cherrim was trying to roar at my enemies.)

I... I think I'm done now.

Anyway, congrats on beating Red, Erica. :D I should probably get all the gym leader's numbers. I missed my chance to get Falkner's yesterday, and got Bugsy's by accident.
