Going to start with some songs with guitar solos in the next update if not after (as mentioned last blog), so if you want to suggest something sooner is better than later!
But for now this song! (Even if it does also have a solo it's not imo a defining feature of it). Let's go with a Australian (and New Zealand) band now in Crowded House, who have a number of neat songs worth checking out. This one is not so well known for whatever reason despite its (imo) nice intro and fairly emotional vocals in the chorus later on too, so I figure it's worth a feature. You might also know some members of the band if you're familar with Split Enz (I Got You, I See Red...) and various others.
I don't think they'd win any awards for the low-quality music video, but oh well. Maybe people falling about in snow is your kind of thing. The first five seconds makes me laugh with that face though!

Lyrics:
On second thoughts, the guitar solo part, although simple, does its job well in leading into the chorus again. That third redition of it is my favourite as that's when the vocals really shine. (Around 'Ooh tell me please' - just sorta shouts/screams it while keeping with the music.)
Lyrics are nice too in that they tell the story well while giving the song that reflective tone in the beginning. The last line I don't really like however (I'd say somewhat unnecessary and a bit hard to follow), but oh well, at least the song still rounds out alright.
Next entry!

Spoiler:
It never used to be that bad
But neither was it great
Somewhere in the middle than
Content and much too safe
Ooh tell me please
Why it takes so long
To realize when there's something wrong
Lay me out with your heart
Now we're gettin' somewhere
Push me back to the start
Now we're gettin' somewhere
Take me out let me breathe
Now we're gettin' somewhere
When I'm with you I don't care
Where it is I'm falling
There's money in the bible belt
Hugs for daddy too
Three wishes for eternity
We've got some work to do
Ooh tell me please, tell me what went wrong
'Cause I believe there is something wrong
Lay me out with your heart
Now we're gettin' somewhere
Push me back to the start
Now we're gettin' somewhere
Take me out let me breathe
Now we're gettin' somewhere
When I'm with you I don't care
Where it is I'm falling
Ooh tell me please, tell me what went wrong
'Cause I believe there is something wrong
Lay me out with your heart
Now we're gettin' somewhere
Push me back to the start
Now we're gettin' somewhere
Take me out let me breathe
Now we're gettin' somewhere
When I'm with you I don't care
Where it is I'm falling
When you took me to your room
I swear I said surrender
When you opened up your mouth
I saw the words fall out
Though nothing much has changed
I swear I will surrender
There is pain in my heart
We can choose what we choose to believe
But neither was it great
Somewhere in the middle than
Content and much too safe
Ooh tell me please
Why it takes so long
To realize when there's something wrong
Lay me out with your heart
