Now, how about that, 2015! What a year. Might as well summarize it instead of making you read my past entries.
The month of December was busy as hell, but that's expected because of special holiday hours at work, as well as final exams at uni. Got straight B's this past quarter, but that lowered my GPA down a bit. Gonna have to work on that.
Hope everyone's Christmas went well! Got a few items that I actually asked for, as well as a few surprises. The award for most Christmas presents given from a single person goes out to my boyfriend's mother. I got a $35 gift card from GameStop, a pair of gloves, socks, and a PJ set. Got a new straightener from my parents, a new scarf from my sister, new shoes from my sister, and…wait for it…SUPER MARIO MAKER from my wonderful boyfriend.
Speaking of Super Mario Maker, I've been doing some practicing in making my own courses, but haven't made some pizazz-ish courses. Trying to unlock everything first before I master my skills at the same level as Ross from the Game Grumps.
Now that it's the new year, I'd like to shift my focus a bit. As you can tell, my activity on PC is increasing a bit, and I want that to change. And I know…for sure, that I'll admit that the past few months I've been pretty much of a ***** to some of you…especially those who were really close to me. And, I want to fix that, I really do. As mentioned before, I was going through an emotional crisis that not even my own friends and boyfriend can stop it. I'm better now and I wish I can get things back the way they were before. With that, I apologize. I'm really not much of a person who likes to apologize, but I'm making the effort.
Looking forward to January, my main focus right now? Getting a better job. I think that's one resolution I would like to work on, but it's not much of a resolution..I'm just trying to improve myself. Hoping to get one before the end of the month so I can finally leave the one I'm in right now. Getting more days off than I should, and quite frankly…that's not good.
Spoiler:
I started off the year with so many aspirations as well as expectations. I was already in bound for Houston. The first two and a half months of the year were spent with slow preparations, as well as preparing psychologically, emotionally, mentally, and physically for the big move. I visited Houston for the very first time at the end of February, ending up finding a place of my own, as well as getting to know the city before I familiarize myself in it. I was also able to transfer my job over to Houston, alongside that…I was also promoted to key holder/supervisor. Life was going so quickly for me as I got a slight pay raise. I moved out of California on March 14th, arriving to Houston on March 15th. My family helped me with the move until they flew back to California on March 18th, which was the official start of life completely on my own. Quite honestly, I was extremely nervous, but I had to manage. I also found a facebook page for Houston Bronies, and they hosted a meetup at the Galleria (Houston's largest mall) during my first weekend living in the city. That's where I met a few peeps who eventually became my first friends here in Houston. One of them, Roy, became a really good friend to me as well as changed the way I was looking at life. I will elaborate on that later. The opportunity to meet my best friend, Buoysel, arose; and snagged a cheap flight to Kansas City in order to [finally] meet him in real life. After four years as online best friends, we finally met. After that fateful weekend, he dumped me, and never spoke to me again. With that, I fell into a deep depression where I ended up missing important class lectures as well as work. Roy, whom I met up at the Houston Bronies meetup, lent me a shoulder to cry on, and with his charisma and sympathy, I was able to recover from the heartbreak very quickly. The month of April brought me huge life changes, and the trip to Kansas City has allowed me to do some "growing up". I felt like I became a brand new person, and found my true self. After a few weeks of talking, Roy asked me out for dinner and a movie, and I immediately said yes. Eventually, he became my new boyfriend, as of late night on May 10th. Our relationship began to grow as the weeks go by, despite the short, 45-minute distance between us as well as our excruciating busy schedules. I was dealing with two jobs as well as school. He was dealing with family issues, as well as university work. It was a matter of time that we were able to make it work between us. No matter the circumstances. Many life lessons were learned this year. The majority of them were lessons that were new to me, that I never understood, or learned while I was living in California. It's funny how much I changed from January to December. Little things happened for the rest of the year, from going to my first Brony convention, to going to my first Renaissance Festival north of Houston, to trying Cuban coffee for the first time, to getting my first speeding ticket in Houston, and to traveling for Christmas in California. After receiving my first New Years kiss at the struck of midnight, I'm hoping for 2016 to be as good as 2015, where my main goal is to improve myself.
