"Daily Bloggity Radio Jam is the newly revolutionized Underground Tuesdays. Instead of highlighting five songs from myself, it will instead highlight five songs from other users including one from myself. Excluding my song, it will be a friendly competition to see what PC's favorite weekly songs are, as well as just all and all showcasing users to music that is out there. This will be a weekly edition to the Daily Bloggity appearing every Friday at 5PM Eastern Time."

    How it works:
    • Vote for your favorite song by commenting below on the entry. This is how people will earn points. You can vote for 2 people per week.
    • The person with the most points gets to stay in the ring for another week. The 3 other participants will be knocked out of the ring for 1 week's time, in which they'll be able to reenter the ring after that time frame.
    • If you would like to be featured in next week's entry, comment below with your enthusiasm (as well as your vote for your favorite DJ.) I'll be sending a PM to you if you have been selected for the following week's entry.

  • I find it funny you stuck my avatar next to Gimmepie's name lol

But anyways, onto my votes for this week. First vote goes to El Heroe Oscuro because Bag Raiders are an act from my part of Australia and I think they are severely underrated. The song he posted may be the most well-known stuff from them but I've heard some of their other material, and of course I always like to support the local stuff.

Wobbu gets my second vote, because there's one thing that always blows me away when I listen to Banks, and that's her amazing voice. Her album Goddess is pretty much one I recommend right now, because it's just absolutely mind-blowing.

Okay well my first vote will definitely be for Wobbu. That song is incredible in my opinion, vastly underrated artist.

Second vote for Hikamaru since Arcade Fire are pretty damn amazing too.

  • -enthusiastically posts enthusiasm-

My first vote will go to Wobbu, Banks has a beautiful voice, the song has a nice beat to it and the lyrics are pretty solid.

My second vote goes to gimmepie. I like the way the song feels and I like the lyrics.

  • Aw, no votes yet. :< (Also gimmepie's avatar is Hikari's there.)

    Quick thoughts:
    - gimmepie's one I recall seeing a year or two back on a video hits channel here! Voodoo ring, 2spooky. I feel it gets a bit messy with its composition towards the end for my liking with the two verses and the louder guitar. It's purposeful and I appreciate what they were going for, but the execution was a touch off. Singing was fine and has a decent sound to it overall imo.

    - Never heard Hikari's before and I quite like it. A rather weird video for that as well with some good dancing. It takes a while to build up, threatening to do so earlier but then easing up, but I think that worked well and they added little bits gradually smartly. Back up vocals contributed nicely, they weren't overdone. Last couple minutes was not quite as good as I hoped for and the ending could have been better, but overall I rather liked this.

    - Going against the crowd for Wobbu's one though. She can sing, sure, but the beat and sound of the music itself is not my sort of thing. Voice is one thing, but I want everything to sound good together, and that didn't sound the case to me. It didn't match her voice well and the 'do-do-do-do' back-up vocal was more annoying than adding to the tune, and by itself (i.e. if you ignored her singing) the music didn't seem to have much merit. *shrug*

    - I've heard your song before as well, elhero, although never saw the video. I do have qualms with the first half being a bit repetitive with the main sequence of notes for my liking, but it's not too distracting. Beginning works out but really it's the second half when it starts that wins out. Shame that it also then gets repetitive with the lyrics. Not a fan of the video either, seems disjointed. Despite negative rambling I do like the song, seems that it'd go well on a playlist for writing or somesuch.

tl;dr - casting a vote for Hikamaru. Not sure about the second so I'll keep that. =p

Oooh a difficult choice between Hikamaru's and Matt's songs... But I think my first vote has to go to El Héroe Oscuro, because that song gets stuck in my head :D And I guess Hikamaru gets my second vote then!

  • I'm assuming I can't vote for myself xD

Considering that I'll give my first vote to Wobbu, I've not heard much of Banks' stuff but I'm consistently pleased with what I have heard.

My second can go to Hikamaru. I'm not the biggest fan of Arcade Fire, in all honesty I think they're pretty overrated, but that particular song is a really good listen.

Also, seriously what's with giving me Hika's avatar? Smh

  • ooo. first vote goes to Hika, Arcade Fire's one of my favorite bands and I did think that album was hella overrated but it's still not bad at all.

second vote going to bobandbill because I like that song. I love even the shitty '90s one-hit wonders for some reasons: not that that song is shitty (even though it is a one-hit wonder), but JUST AS AN ASIDE.

also I will always be up for contributing a song, I've done so before but I quite enjoy this part of yr blog Matt and I like being a part of it. 8)

  • I honestly loved all of these songs and would put them all on my iPod, but if I have to vote for two mine go to Hikamaru and bobandbill. I honestly did dig every single one of these songs this week, which is a first since I've created this series.

Fixed it! I had resized your avatar before hand, I think I must have just accidentally placed the wrong URL link in there. My bad!

I meant to vote yesterday but I forgot, whoops. My first vote most def goes to El Hèroe Oscuro, that song has been stuck in my head all week. I've liked the song for a while now but didn't learn the name of it until I caught it in the gym one day. My second vote was a close tie between Wobbu and Hikamaru but I think I've got to give it to Wobbu. This is a really cool thing you have going on here btw.

  • Going to vote for bobandbill and gimmepie. All songs this week are good, but El Héroe's choice was a little too chill for me and I could never really get into Arcade Fire's sound >_>

If you're referring to my comment about your song, let me say that "chill" was an awful word to use lol. Like I said, all songs were good, but maybe it was because your song had a different style to it than the others is what didn't make leave as much as an impression, idk.

Or for Arcade Fire, I don't dislike them but I can't force myself to like them either D:
