So, I've decided to basically look at each Pokemon and write everything I like about it and what I don't and stuff and I want to post it here for you people to look about. I'm just going to follow the Isshu PokeDex and will go all the way through the end, giving my thoughts on all 155 Pokemon. I plan to have 14 different parts, and as it this is part one I'm going to start with Victini and go through Miruhoggu. In the spoiler I will put my plan for what part each Pokemon will be on, so if you're looking for my thoughts on a specific Pokemon, just look. Enjoy!
#000 Victini
I think that Victini is a pretty cool Pokemon by way of looks. I havn't been able to use him yet, and probably never will mainly because he's legendary. Glancing at its learnset it looks like it learns quite a few interesting moves, and stat wise has 100 across the board. I really like its interesting shiny sprite, and hope that he will gain another form with the third game. As for my rating, I'd probably give this little guy a 6/10.
#001 Tsutarja #002 Janobii #003 Jaroda
Out of these three my favorite would probably be Janobii. I like the cute little Tsutarja, but Janobii seems to have much more detail. I kinda like Jaroda, but his looks are just sorta meh. Being starters, I would probably choose these guys second. Stat wise they are defencive and speedy. I'm a bit of a offencive player, but I usually choose my team through looks and type, not stats. I would've liked to see these guys get an awesome second type, but they are just grass all the way through. What I really love about the first two are the shiny sprites, they look amazing! However, Jaroda's shiny sprite doesn't seem to match and looks a bit weird. Overall, I give these guys a 7/10.
#004 Pokabu #005 Chaobuu #006 Emboar
These three were a bit of a disappointment for me. Every new game I always choose the firse starter first and I really just don't like these, primarily Chaobuu and Emboar. Pokabu is just fine, but I wish GF would have gone a different direction with him. I really don't like Chaobuu because he just looks stiff and odd, and the same goes for Emboar. Emboar's beard just looks extremely weird to me too. I also think that GF messed up with the typing. Fire/Fighting is getting really, really old. Also, I really dislike the shiny sprites on the last two. To me it looks like they just decided to inverse the colors and it looks like something my eight year old sister could do in five seconds flat. They seem to be pretty attack-based and slow stat wise. Overall, I was extremely disappointed this time around with the fire starters and in my opinion get a 4/10.
#007 Mijumaru #008 Futachimaru #009 Daikenki
I'm going to start out by saying these are my favorite starters this time around. When Mijumaru was first revealed I found it kinda odd and ugly, but soon saw it as the cutest of the whole bunch. Futachimaru is just as awesome. I love everything about him, and the same is with Daikenki. I absolutley love Daikenki's backsprite and can't wait until my Futachimaru evolves! The only problem I've had with these are how the changes from evolution don't really seem to flow (to me it doesn't really look like Futachimaru was going to evolve in to Daikenki). Stat wise they look pretty fine, though a bit slow. Also, I don't really like the shiny sprites as well as the normal ones. Overall, I really enjoy Gen 5's water starter line and will give them a 9/10.
#010 Minezumi #011 Miruhoggu
To start off with, I like the looks of Minezumi the most. I would like Miruhoggu better (looks wise too) if he gained the fire type with evolving. Miruhoggu seems to be a bit stuck up, which is fine, but he looks really stiff and uncomfortable. I really like Minezumi's shiny, but not Miruhoggu's too much. I would really love these two a whole lot more if they had gotten to be Normal/Fire. They seem to have fairly average stats and make for good vendor trash Pokemon. Overall, I'd give them a 5/10.
