Pokémon Emergency!

Hey, whaddaya know, I decided to do something and didn't give up immediately. (That'll happen when I reach the turgid mountain of filler that is Johto)

Anyway, about the show. Once more, it was a great episode, both with and without the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia, though I'll admit that looking at it critically, Team Rocket are a little indecisve. At the start, they're the suave, smooth villains who are telling witty jokes. Then, they become seriously threatening when they ransack the Pokémon Centre. And then...they get pwned just a bit too easily. A slightly longer fight scene of Pikachu vs. Ekans and Koffing would have done wonders for their reputation.

Still, the episode was by no means bad - it was great fun to watch and, ultimately, that's the important thing. The show does seem a little more sinister at this point, mainly with the whole "Pikachu might die" thing which, although not said, is at least implied. And I do think that's a good thing - a tv show or film can be deep without being un-child-friendly (see Pixar's Up) Anyway, I'm getting seriously tangential,so I'll just leave you with my ELOT. :P
