Let's try something positive again today. Memories.
It took me a long time to put two and two together. But I figured out where I get my one positive trait (the only thing I can say positively about myself, I guess)...my amazing memory. (Which I'm allowed to think is amazing, hey!) I get it from my mother.
My mom's memory is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. She... she remembers exact dates, like me. She remembers the exact date she was finished with radiation treatments from the brain tumor she had three years before I was born. ...She even remembers the details of her kindergarten classroom! Um. I think my mom is... turning 46 this year? So she's 45. That's really amazing. I know a lot of people who forget a lot of their past, but I guess my mom just remembers everything in her past. She was bullied by a kid like I was for a bit... now my father. My father only selectively remembers things...
...So my amazing memory. I get it from my mom!
Who knew?
She has a lot to talk about in the 45 years, 11 months, ten days that's she been alive. I do find her memories sad and interesting--so I always ask her about her past. ...She goes on and on about it.
Do I get that from her too?
I wonder.
In the end of it all, I know where I get it from. I'm glad I get one good thing from my mother. I'm really good with dates.
