Assumption:

Hikari presumably's depressed about getting beaten by someone. =( Satoshi and Nozomi fight! Jessie does something too that I'm not certain of. Either She battles Nozomi and Ash beats Hikari, or she loses to Satoshi or Satoshi and Nozomi is in fact the semi-final and the preview is deceiving us again. Oh, and of course at some time Nozomi will be all. "Satoshi might not want to enter any more and beat Hikari or otherwise she'll get depressed."

This is not a review thread, it's a discussion thread, and there is currently none for the Japanese Pokemon Anime. ^^;

I liked this episode, always characters debuts are fun, but in the other half i disliked Ash joining contests too and taking some spotlight from the character that is designed to participate in contests, wich is Hikari now...

Nice dress and stuff, but i think the episode was more like a "Ash debut" than Hikari's :/.

BTW, i will be happy to discuss new episodes here :).

Personally, I find the Japanese long-reaching spoiler to be in the minority around here, but I won't necessary curtail their voice. Providing they keep this to themselves here and don't post any long reaching spoilers in current threads (like the episode discussions). Of course, there was a D/P spoiler thread not too long ago and it died out. So, all I can do is let the people ride this feeling out.

And to spare myself the spoilers here, that's all I'm going to say. And if anyone mega spoilers on other threads based from what is said here, I'm gonna hit ya hard and I'm gonna hit ya fast. Hehe. Have fun and be careful where you tread.

I was really hoping that Brock would be the one who would participate in the Contests since he is completly useless, but oh well.

Maybe Hikari would decided to do gym challenges just to make Ash mad. That will be fun to watch.

From what I could make out of it, it seems that Aipom wanted to participate in a contest. So, Hikari suggested that Ash should sign up for the contest. Appearantly it is not a requirement for the trainer to dress up? Hikari and Nozomi are wearing a special outfit, but Ash has his daily outfit.

It's looks to me in DP014, Satoshi will be training his Mukkuru a new move for his upcoming gym battle. It better be a good filler.

Episode 12 was fun. I think Nozomi winning was rather apropriate, though I was personally rooting for Jesse, she came so close.

As for the next to episodes, looks like both will have something going on (maybe two evolutions), so I look forward to them, especially the Brock focused one.

Okay, this is just a few questions about the DP anime to spark a few discussions:

Does anyone besides me think that Hikari has really supplanted Ash as the series' main character? The beggining and ending theme both seem to be sung from her point of view, and the episodes seem to have a trend of being mostly Hikari-centric, or else sharing the view with all of them.

Additonally, I normally hate random rivals thrown in for Satoshi in order to replace Shigeru (if he comes back, someone PM me right away so I can organize a party), but Shinji does a heck of a good job if I do say so myself. (And I do.) He's fairly obviously based off of the G/S/C rival, so I'm glad of his presence... and I'm pulling for him. Satoshi can get his butt whupped by this guy anytime, and I'll be right there with my popcorn. (Hmm.. maybe he could go back to Altomare and cry for a bit with Latias. I love Altoshipping- don't really believe it, but I wish I could.)

Left is the opening for Battle Frontier. It mentions Ash (Satoshi) but not May (Haruka). Right is the opening for Pokemon DP and it mentioned Ash (Satoshi) but also Hikari.

Before Pokemon DP started there was a magazine scan with Dialga, Palkia and Hikari, announcing that Pokémon DP is going to start. At first it was assumed that Ash and co will disappear, but Hikari tagged along with them. Because of the magazine scan, it is rumored that Hikari will have a greater role in the anime series most likely a greater role than May or Misty.
My impression (after having seen 12 episode of Pokemon DP) is that the Hikari/Ash balance in the anime serie is somewhat like 50/50.

Since movie 10 is titled "Palkia vs Dialga" I'm starting to wonder if the Dialga&Palkia&Hikari thing is still going to be in the anime serie.

Also I like Shinji the way he is now, and I certainly don't want him to become a friendly person.

Myself as well, but we all know that with the anime's crazy writers it'll happen anyway. Heaven help us all.

I certainly hope Shinji doesn't become that way as well, but like said it's inevitable eventually. I just hope that instead of making him super friendly, they make a sort of friendly but still act like a cold-looking, tough, mean sounding, and serious trainer. A friendship that still involves competing and fighting with each other....It could happen right.....right?

As for Hikari, yeah it's more 50/50 when it comes to main character status. So far there are episode that focas entirly around Hikari, and there are some where she is just in the backround while Ash (or Brock for one episode) take the spotlight.

and, no Ash's Pigiot does not come back.

As for the most recent DP episodes, they were alot of fun to me, I always like it when they give Brock some time to shine and the Mukuru epsiode was fun as well (IT's THE BIRDS!!!).

Hmmm.... I think I made a thread like this awhile back and it got closed for some reason.
Anyways....

Firstly I cant believe that they delayed the next ep to air on the 11th. Its so far away.

I enjoyed the Mukkuru ep, Mukkubird is awesome. But the Bird Pokemon seemed to have been too easily caught IMO.

Episode 483: Kurogane Gym! Satoshi VS. Shinji!

Apparently, Satoshi is going to have a rematch with Shinji. Yep. I'm sensing a theme here (Like with Brawly -- I forget his Japanese name at the moment -- but not nearly as long between episodes). Yeesh.

Euh, I believe it would be "Kurogane Gym! Hyouta VS Shinji!". Shinji is going against the gymleader not against Ash/Satoshi. Would this be the first gym match where Ash isn't the challenger?
I'm glad the week is finally over. It took ages if you ask me.
