A mental breakdown? Heh, that's rough. =X

Rowan Atkinson has a habit of playing very similar roles, other than Blackadder, which I also adore.

I like Blackadder too, its just so random.

The thing is though, he wanted to stop playing all of these similar roles and get into a serious role.

It;s a bit impossible though, after Mr Bean there is no way I could ever sit down through a serious film with him in it without wanting him to say something like "Teddy"

Yeah, he was massively typecast after Mr. Bean. But, that's the price you pay for taking up such a ridiculous character role for so long, especially when the character becomes so famous.

Yeah, he was Love, Actually a few years back, though I think that was only a minor role and he starred in Keeping Mum a year or so ago.

And I can't believe the topic has been Mr. Bean for two days now. XD

Well you see, the bread was a very soft bread called "Egyptian bread". And while I have my doubts about the origins of the bread, it's still some pretty damn awesome bread. So awesome, that it reinvigorated me so I can last the long, cold nights.

What would be a miracle in this place is if we had a huge discussion going with a load of people participating at the same time. Like how the DCC used to be, only with more substance in the posts. That would be awesome. XD

PC being active again would be an all round miracle, like it was a year or so ago.

Meh, I didn't participate in the DCC much back when it was super popular. I might every once in a blue moon, but for the most part, I stayed away from it. I liked living in OVP, and I didn't go out of it much. I didn't know many people either, so I didn't think I'd fit in too well. But there was every once in awhile where I found a topic I liked and joined in. Those were pretty fun times.

PC is active compared to other places, what are you talking about? ;p *shot*

Yeah, it isn't as active as it's been, but to be honest, little activity is better than none, and it's better than downtime. Even though it could be better, it could be much worse as well. That, and the other forums I frequent are really small, so PC is so much more active than them. This is active to me. XD;

I rather like it at this activity level. There's enough people to get a decent amount of posts daily and it's small enough where you get to know a bunch of people. Finally, there isn't too many posts to read in OVP unless someone has a posting spree. I like that.

If you can, I say go for it. There's nothing wrong with more activity. ^^

No, no. I wasn't talking about back when the DCC was getting about 6 posts per minute, that was way too frantic. What I meant was, a DCC that receives decent respones at regular intervals, every 10-20 minutes or so. We've had that from time to time over the past couple of months, but it means having about four or five people posting at the same time. I think having seven or eight active contributors to decent discussions would be great.

Back when it was super popular, the DCC was nothing but a post count raiser. Even so, with the right people in there, it was still a lot of fun at times. Back when I first started posting in there, there were about 8 people posting all the time, and I became good friends with them because they were fun to post with at the time.

I think there needs to be a balance of fun conversations and serious discussions in the DCC in order for everyone to be happy with it. It's just trying to find that balance that will take a little time.

Some areas really need to be given the kiss of life. OC, in particular. I think the problem with OC now is that a lot of people aren't sure what they're allowed to post there, in fear that it'll just get moved to somewhere else. Way back when, the OC harboured much more varied threads, but they ended up being moved to different areas. Now it's basically a place for people to post news stories.

I think it could be more active without losing the chance to get to know people better. It never hurts to have more people to talk to and get to know. Especially since there really aren't that many active posters at the moment.

Yeah, during that downtime a lot of people just got fed up of PC being up for an hour then down for a further twleve. Although, a few of them have come back, but they just aren't as active as they used to be. Shame really, this time last year PC used to be pretty fun.

When that was actually happening the DCC was good fun. But it seems over the past two or so weeks people just aren't posting much, myself included. And it's not that I don't want to post... I just have no reason to. Hopefully when I'm off for half-term I'll actually make more than one post every two days because I do want to join in more conversations.

But it gave a chance for more people to converse with each other and make new friends. I know that I made most of my friends in the DCC, yet I do think it's best the way it is at the moment... if only more people would post. And the ones that are posting aren't really doing 'informative' posts like people were doing a few weeks ago. Hell, even I'M making better posts. XD

OC itself has died. All the threads there are copies of previous ones, and it's all news or tragic stores. It just needs one or two people to make good threads then people would contiune doing so... it's just knowing what threads to make.

Yes, it's true. :/ It's a shame when sections die, hm?

Perhaps you should find some of those old threads and re-make them, or think of threads and make them. Maybe if the members see examples of what should be in OC they'll get ideas and make more threads like that. I don't know how well it'd work, but something is better than nothing.

It's true, but eventually you get too active and you can't know that many people.
I know it's like that at SPPF. There's a ton of people you see and you're like "whose that?" There's the mods, a few popular members, and then there's everyone else... or that's how I see it.

Obviously I'm more of a small forum kind of person; this activity doesn't bother me one bit. :/

I know how that feels. Every once in awhile I'm like "you know, I haven't posted much in the past few days." I'll read but I won't find anything to post in. I think that's the problem -- in some places we just need more things to talk about, more threads, ect. Too bad I suck at ideas for threads.

That's one good thing about the DCC: even if it's spam, you still talk to people, and that can lead to friendships. ^^

I just hope I'm one of those people that posts well in the DCC. I try to give decent length posts, I try to explain myself... but I don't know, my posts always seem short to me. But then again, that might be because of OVP. There's not much to talk about there. I'm used to topics where you can get away with a few lines of text for an answer. I guess that's a downfall of it. :/
