4th Gen The 3rd installment Thread!

Every game in the Generations has a 3rd installment I think the DS should have one!

1st-Generation = Red/Blue then Yellow!
2nd-Generation = Gold/Silver then Crystal!
3rd-Generation = Ruby/Sapphire then Emerald!
4th-Generation = Diamond/Pearl then WHAT!

So do you think there should be a 3rd installment in the 4th-Generation!

Of course. The 3rd of the series seems to always be the best in Pokemon, it's a trend that they have had for every gen.

And of course, G/S remakes MUST follow, just to be like 3rd gen. Right?

Alot of threads like this but most of them asking for names not if its a good idea.

Anyway, I believe its a good idea if they improve D/P like they improved R/S for E then, well I could get overwhelmed since Diamond is the best game I have ever played. (That is our of every single game I've played on)

Yea, there's been a lot of threads like this. There's even one that is still active, strangely enough. o.O Edit: Eh, can't find that link anymore. XD But yea, there are a lot of threads like this.

Though since you are technically asking a different question, this might not be locked...I dunno.

At any rate, I say they should of course have a 3rd installment. And I'll agree with Opal, though I don't like that Giratina is so ugly, yet represents my birthstone. >.> Fire Opal...don't like the sound of that.

Why not? its good business for gamefreak, and yeah having a G/S/C remake follow behind the installment, would follow the FR/LG franchise way, so it all works. I dont know how they're going to improve from D/P, but we will see...

yah, feel free to prove me wrong but I think the distance in between R/S to E was a while after, so don't say it's not coming out yet.

as for G/S/C remakes, I don't think there will be a crystal remake as their wasn't a yellow remake (look out for shiny gold (steals name) and glittery silver)

With regards to the 2nd Generation remakes everyone wants, I kinda doubt such a thing would ever happen. The only reason they remade the 1st Generation was because they wanted to have all the Kanto and Johto Pokémon that were missing from 3rd Generation available so they could keep the franchise big and strong. Without FireRed and LeafGreen, most of us wouldn't have a large chunk of the Pokémon from Kanto and Johto.

There's one problem: It WILL feature Giratina, if there is a third game. But have anyone noticed Giratina isn't in the Sinnoh Dex? So there are some possibilities:
*The story is a mix of Dialga/Palkia but doesn't involve Giratina.
*The story involves Giratina, but doesn't mean you see or battle it before getting the National Dex.
*The story continues after getting the National Dex.
*There is NO third game.

If there are G/S remakes, they'll come probably before the 3rd Sinnoh game, so if we see it first, we can lower our hopes.

If there was a possible 3rd installment for the 4th gen, in relation to Mesprit like the whole thing with Suicune for crystal, i guessing they would call it "Pokemon Beryl" since pure beryl itself is a colorless gem, and it can be tied to many colors.

If it'll be called anything, I really think a third installment would be called "Granite," since it starts with "G" as does Giratina, and they're similar in color.

But honestly, at this point, I don't want a third installment. After time passes, yeah, I probably will, but as of now, no. I'd much rather prefer Metalgen remakes than another companion to Diamond and Pearl.

No, if they do remake the G/S/C games, like every other game, breeding shinys doesn't increase the odds for hatching a shiny.

There's almost certainly going to be another installment in the Diamond and Pearl generation. However, I recently read in a Nintendo interview somewhere that they will not be remaking the Gold, Silver and Crystal generation. I believe they said something along the lines of "Moving forward rather than looking back." It's a shame, because I really wanted to see them remake those games.

Still, I patiently await the new 4th generation installment.

One thing to note, if they make a Metalgen remake, will it be for GBA or DS, for transferring?
