DP 84/85 Episode Discussion (Japanese Spoilers)

Um... yeah. Seeing as this airs on the 3rd of July, it's quite a long time, so why not find a way to while the time away... with discussion! XD

Preview's points (WARNING: spoilers ahead!):

Spoiler:

- A Swinub eats all of the Poffins in the tray while Dawn's Ambipom, Pachirisu, Buneary and Piplup look on with their mouths agape. Swinub appears to look around while blushing (for no reason at all; maybe because its hunger is sated?), blissfully ignorant of the impending doom Dawn's team have for it... FOR EATING THEIR BELOVED POFFINS! They go all zombie with glowing eyes and preparing their attacks (Piplup prepares Peck, Pachirisu prepares Discharge, Ambipom prepares Double Hit/Focus Punch, and Buneary prepares an Ice Beam).

- We then see Ash holding a Razor Fang in his palm and Gligar's jumping for it, desperately trying to get the Fang from Ash. It fails to do so and goes teary-eyed.

- Then the preview cuts to a scene where Ash appears to fall down into a hole or something. Ash is grabbing onto a rope or a vine while Gligar is grabbing tightly onto his waist. It then shows Gligar evolving in the next scene, after catching the Razor Fang in mid-flight while being directly under the Moon. (Yay, they followed the games!)

- Then Movie 11 stuff... Blah, blah, blah...

- Then Dawn is shown talking to the Swinub about something, and it blushes yet again.

- Yet another part of the preview which will prove that this one-hour special will be a wacky (or cute, depending on your perspective) one... Ash dances with Gligar, twirling it around twice (yes, this is definitely before the evolution).

- Pikachu and Piplup are shown attacking something. They're using Bubblebeam and Thunderbolt respectively.

...Right. These two episodes will clear up the dust about the Movie 11 Pokémon line-up now. Swinub's capture and Gligar's evolution.

To add one thing "Hikari no Getto?!?!?!?!?!?!" So just to nip any Brock swinub capture fans, yeah it's going to be Dawns.

Yeah. That part pretty much confirms it. And besides, Dawn is frequently featured in the preview. (I don't remember seeing Brock anyway. XD)

Can't wait for these two episodes at any rate. I just love wacky episodes like these.

Well I can see that it will most likey go to Dawn but maybe it just me thinking it be better with Brock since he is the food expert and could make food to satified the Swinub. Still it just makes me kinda sad since that means it may not get much screen time at all.

Also now that I think about it, those poffins are not getting any or much screentime either. I have completely forgot about them really.

Yeah but Dawn is the poffin expert remember? Her pokemon hate Swinub (atleast for now) because it ate all the poffin. Also, they are gonan have to give it screen time so it will evolve, remember they are giving it toher so she can get Mamoswine.

Backlot hasn't appeared in the anime yet. This is his debut.

Although, the last time we saw Poffins should be fairly far back. Last I remember of it, it was seen eaten by Dawn's Pokémon in DP 75. 8 episodes, 2 months. Well, anime-wise it wouldn't seem that far back, but the airings say otherwise. XD

Oh yeah I agree, they haven't really brought up poffins in along time. But the writers have to show Dawn having a real talent in something every once in a while. Plus it would be hillarious seeing a very hungry pokemon eating all of her really delicious proffins all the time. XD

He hasn't appeared yet, based on the Diamond and Pearl map that wouldn't really make sense. He is on the route between Hearthome and Pastoria not between like Solaceon and Hearthome. That was a random old man in Rentorer's Eyes.

Seeing Dawn gets Swinub makes me wonder how good will it is in contest and battles. Piplup and Ambipom are her main battlers but Pachirisu and Buneary seem to be lacking in experience for battle.

Seeing that Dawn gets Swinub also makes me wonder what, will Brock catch a new Pokemon anytime soon? Ash has caught two new Pokemon and trade one Chimchar, Buizel, and Gligar Dawn has caught one and traded one Swinub and Ambipom. Leaving Brock way behind.

He hasn't appeared yet, based on the Diamond and Pearl map that wouldn't really make sense.

It wouldn't make sense anyway, because 85's taking place at Lake Valor, according to the summary I got. XD Gary does indeed make an appearance in 85 (his VA is listed on the TV Tokyo page), but it seems the preview doesn't want to spoil his appearance, much like they don't want to spoil the appearance of Mr. Backlot.

SO what Bonsly just doesn't matter or soemthing? I mean it has to learn Mimic to evolve.

Akio is right... Bonsly counts as evolving the new way (since it was a Generation IV Pokémon to begin with...) with Mimic. It actually has evened out in DP 85 (Gligar's evolution).

And no, Ambipom isn't getting more screentime than Buneary and Pachirisu; it's getting only slightly more screentime, but then, Piplup steals the show all the time (Appearing in no less than 65 episodes out of the 85 at the very least).

Exactly Steelmaniac has it right on the money. See Ambi isn't getting more screentime, infact the only one being shafted is Buneary and now a days we are actually seeing her. Hopefully she will be the star of the next contest or something. Sweet Buddha, I hope they don't get rid of my sweet Gligar's personality, She is so cute and sweet, I don't want her to change when she evolves >_<.

And it'd be hilarious to see a crash-glomping Gliscor. XDDDD

Though, given that Gliscor's about 40lbs lighter than Ash, he'll have an easier time (somewhat).

Well she has a somewhat smaller tail and seems to have a crush on Ash. Unless its a really young boy with a big brother complex, I am going to go with girl. Althought if it is a boy it's still just as adorable.

Crash Gliscor would be the greatest thing ever. Though they've made creepy pokemon quirky and loving before XD*points to Muk*

It won't hurt him that much and he'd just hug her right back. XD
