    Ha! Look at this

    Riolu
    Adamant
    Steadfast (don't care)
    HP:19
    ATK:27
    DEF:29 (WTF)
    Sp.Atk:20 (srsly)
    Sp.Def:12(aw)
    Speed:31

On my second try! A shame, I got used to the girl. Aw well. Thanks to all whoconvinced me to hold off.

But no more. I still gotta breed Tangela.

I was talking to someone about this on Smogon. Where there is a tie for two or more IVs, the characteristic is completely random. This becomes a pain when you are breeding a wall, usually with at least 3 flawless IVs.
Oh yeah, so if it's completely random, could, say, "Proud of its power" show up on a 31 ATK/SPD IV one?

No, that's impossible. 'Proud of its Power' would only show up for a 30 in Atk. 'Likes to Thrash About' would show up for a 31 Atk IV. For more info, see Serebii's Characteristic page.

Wait a minute, you said this was for Togekiss? Why are you trying to get flawless Atk IVs on a Pokemon that generally uses Special Attacks?

And Sims, you really should invest some time into catching good-IVed Dittos. They really help speed up the breeding, especially since you can use them for all of your future breeding projects.

Whoops. The ATK is for Weavile. The reason it'd be a pain to try and get perfect SPATK and SPD IV's on Togekiss is because of the chance that offspring might not have Serene Grace... I already blew up a week ago when I EV trained and used up a Shiny stone to get a Togekiss with a Timid nature and 31 SPATK IV's... and just after i'd finished, I found out it had HUSTLE.

Aw, that's nothing. I spent weeks trying to breed a Rhyperior (4 IVs) with Solid Rock. Not to mention the time I put into breeding my Swampert (who needed 5 IVs).

I don't think this post deserves its own thread since flareon is a UU anyway, but would this be a good moveset for him?

    Flareon@ Salac berry
    EV's: 252/Atk 252/Spd 4/??
    Fire fang
    Endure
    Flail
    Quick attack

Ugh, why doesn't flareon learn flare blitz...

How much would the usual Crocune (Bold, 252 HP/DEF) take from the following Earthquakes.

252 Att/Spe Jolly Mamo and Garchomp

    252 Att/Spe Adamant CB Dugtrio.

    True enough, air.

I'll hit you up over VM laterfor a cloning request.

Hah, I just got this Tangela:

    Now behold

    Tangela
    HP:27
    ATK:29
    DEF:30
    SP.ATK:14
    SP.DEF:29
    SPE:2

Her natural Base HP is over9000 100, so I can definately get away with such HP EVs. Unlike airconditioning (the hell is up with that name), whose Cressy's HP was under 25, which is unacceptable. Sp.Atk is sucky, but who cares.

She has great Sp.Def, for whatever reason. slow as dirt, but who cares. Most importantly, it has the inferior Leaf Guard ability, but that matters not. s said, beggars can't be choosers. I'll invest time into getting good Ditto, but in the meantime, I must stick with this.

That set isnt great tbh, rock types and priority moves go OLOL! check out smogon for the standard sets.

    - 32.55-38.42 unboosted
    - 42.23-49.85% with LO

    Dugtrio-

On the contrary, i find a wall that is effectively immune to status a better one than one that just outspeeds stuff. Great IVs where it matters though.

True enough, gofre. I never said I hated Leaf Guard (that name sounds so great), but Chlorophyll may be useful. For instance, in the RARE moments I get bathed in strong sunlight, I can turn the tables with an unexpected sweep. But hey, Plume can do that, and sunlight is so rare, the ability doesn't matter.

A shame on the sp.atk, though. Then I would be free to swap back & forth between Energy Ball & Power Whip (this is whifi, so can just delete a move & relearn it whenever.

What the hell is up with YOUR username.

    Oh yeah, I went there.

whose Cressy's HP was under 25, which is unacceptable.

Which is why I didn't keep that Cressy. I'm still resetting for one. :/

But yeah, that Tangela looks fine. Pretty great, even. If you're really worried about that SAtk, then use it as a parent, but personally, I would keep it (I only know enough about Tangrowth to know it gets POWER WHIP).

    'Kay... quick question here.

I'm (still) new in this whole EV business, and I want to know if I'm keeping tally right. Every time I KO a Starly (EV training 'Dile for Speed, yes the same one you traded me AC. Don't judge! I'm lazy) I make a tally under a column I labeled Speed (wouldn't make sense if it was "Carrot" now would it). Is that right? Also, when a site says to train a Pokemon for X amount of EVs for a stat, is that how many Pokemon I should KO? (Right now I'm at 100 for Totodile, with 128 to go...) Also also, can you EV two stats at the same time? I KO'd a Bidoof for HP when I was KO'ing Starlys.

Not exactly. Remember, different Pokemon give different amounts of EVs. For example, Golbat gives 2 Spe EVs, Shinx gives 1 Atk EV, and Gengar gives 3 SAtk EVs. This number is altered by your given item (Macho Brace, or the Power Items) and by Pokerus (if you have it.).

Since you're training against Starly, you gain 1 Spe EV per Starly. This number is altered depending on your item and Pokerus, of course, so tell me if you're training with either of those conditions.

When a site says to train for X amount of EVs, it means X amount of EVs. For example, let's say that a build demanded 240 SAtk EVs. My favorite place to train SAtk is on Golducks, who give 2 SAtk EVs. At a rate of 2 SAtk EVs per battle (assuming no other factors), I would need to kill 120 Golducks to finish. Of course, since I'm not a caveman, I train with Pokerus and the Power Lens, giving 12 EVs per battle, at which rate 20 Golducks will need to be killed.

Also also, can you EV two stats at the same time? I KO'd a Bidoof for HP when I was KO'ing Starlys.

You can do that. Just be careful- you may wind up losing track if you train for two stats at once.

I know Starlys give 1 EV point (or... whatever) so I've been tallying one per KO.

No items, no PKRS. Just a Totodile knocking down birds :).

I went with the DDance set on smogon (since I have DDance and didn't want to waste it) and it said 28 HP (I've done 1... the Bidoof)/252 Atk (I've done 70... Vitamins. Wasn't rich enough to get 100 :()/228 Spe (I have 93 left). So with what you're saying, I think I did this right. In the end I should have +7 HP/+63 Atk/ and +57 Spe, right?

EDIT: Oh, and I'd have to KO 28 Bidoofs, 252... somethings, and 228 Starlys.

Yeah, that seems about right. But seriously, find a better place to train. That place sounds like it would take forever to EV train at.

D: it is. I'll try to find a better place, but the Starlys come at a good rate (sometimes). I'll probably come back for the HP training since the Bidoofs are everywhere!!!

    But yeah, thanks again! ^^

I never said you said you hated, but you did call it inferior ;)
And somehow I dont see a poke with 0 SpAtt investment and self-confessed bad IVs performing an unexpected sweep :P let tangroth continue to do what it does best, which is walling.
