Pokemon Emerald

Introduction.

This hack is a remade version of emerald, my reasons for making this game is that Pokemon Emerald contains new graphic's, and pokemon are animated like in the Gbc version Pokemon Crystal.
I always thought that Pokemon Emerald missed some things, it is similiar with Ruby and Saphire but just a modern version.
That is what bothers me, I liked the plot with Team magma and Team aqua, but the newly added features can be placed in Ruby and Saphire too.
That's why I'm planning to change it.

Name of the hack:Pokemon Emerald ???.
Hack off: Pokemon Emerald.

:.Story.:

This story stays the same but with some added features.
You play as the young boy Emerald, he lives next to Little Roottown in the woods.
You live with your grampa who once was a Pokemon trainer himself.
So your grampa arranged a meeting with Prof Birch.
When you exit the woods you are in Little Roottown, you see that a new person just moved in (Ruby).
When you enter Prof Birch's lab hes not there, an aid of Birch tells you he might be home.
When you enter his home, his wife tells you May (Saphire) might know she is upstairs.
Once upstairs May tells you he is doing research on route 1.
While entering route 1 you see Prof Birch being chazed by a wild Zigzagoon.
Choose between 3 starter pokemon located in his bag.
Treecko, Torchick, Mudkip.
After saving Birch he takes you back to his lab, he gives you a Pokedex with an installed national dex, and 5 pokeballs.
And now your adventure begins as an pokemon trainer.
Many new features are added in this version, make sure you dont miss it.

New features.

New Hero ( Emerald).
New routes, caves, people.
Type changes.
Pokemon Learn more moves.
2 Rivals (Ruby and Saphire).
An organisation that studie rare Pokemon.
Steven is not the real Champion anymore.
All Pokemon are in the game.
All legendaries get an special event.
Team Rocket gets involved.
A strange totodile is teasing you during the story.
And more...

Explanation.

As you have read above, there's a new organisation in hoen.
This is a group of people who studie Rare pokemon.
Not only legendaries, but also shiny pokemon and pokemon that look different then the originals.
This group helps you with locations of those rare pokemon.

Steven isn't our champion anymore.
He is in the game, but not as real champion.
Our new Champion is a trainer called Joe.
You meet Joe somewhere during the game, this trainer's appearance is abit rude, but somewhere he's kind hearted.
He also makes his appearance a few times with the new organisation.

New routes are going to be implented, this way it's abit more fun to play.
The routes will mostly lead to a newly added feature like an legend or another event.

Pokemon Learn more moves, so if you got an treecko as starter, it can learn a attack called frenzy plant when it get's to a certain level, and offcourse more moves, that counts for all Pokemon in the game.

Strange Totodile is following you during your aventure.
This totodile is a good explanation for the type changes.
This totodile is a dark purple coloured one, it is able to learn ground attacks like Mud shot and muddy water.
It's stats are also increased, this is the only totodile in the game.
First encounter with this totodile is right after your adventure begins.
The new organisation is talking about this totodile as well.

Team Rocket is also in this game, this plot is after you defeat the Elite 4.
Team Rocket is chazing a pokemon they made.
We all know that's Mewtwo. :P
Mewtwo may have erazed Team Rockets memories but not there written work about him.
So that's why Team Rocket is chazing him again.
More about this plot is not known yet, it's still too early to discuss that part.

To make this remade version more fun I need your help too!

- I was thinking of changing the locations of Groudon and Kyogre, so it will be something new to try.

About me.

First off all some might know me as a spriter, well I'm really a spriter with an ambition to hack a rom.
But to be honest, I'm not really the smartest person around you see.
So it makes it abit difficult for me to hack a game, but at least I'm gonna try and succeed.
I tried to make a game once, called pokemon chaotic, but no succes.
I even teamed up with people, but still no succes.
So i've given up to make that, maybe later but i dont think so.
But Chaotic helped me learn abit of mapping, that's why I'm glad I atleast tried to make a hack as difficult as Pokemon Chaotic.
So I woke up oneday, with an urge to play Pokemon Emerald, it really sucked really.
That's why I want to remake that version into a much more fun game.
And I hope many people think the same way as i do.

Team Section.

Right now I'm alone on this project, and I accept everyone who likes to help.
This game is not even started on yet, I need my new computer so i may download the tools.
I might need some help on the game too, i'm going to learn the basic things of hacking, but some things i believe are just to difficult for me, but I hope everything works fine.
If you wanna join me and learn more about hacking as me, just ask it.
Even if your a bad mapper or something like that I give you the oppertunity to improve it.

No i can't.
The story is the same, but it has it differences.
Like all the legendary pokemon get new locations and new event's.
When you get your starter pokemon you encounter a shiny.
So again this is just a improved version of emerald, to make it much more fun.
Pokemon learn more moves, like venusaur learns frenzy plant by lvl up.
Charizard learns eruption by lvl up, and much more moves for each pokemon.
It's just some editing, not really hacking and making new town's, only new routes, caves will be added.
I make this because I wanna learn to hack, so i start of simple =)

Why do you think the emerald rom is messed up ?
It is the best gba game of pokemon, like crystal it has new features like animations.
The only thing is that it looks to much like ruby and saphire.
And what hermes said, Emerald has a missing character, and I'm gonna add him.
You play as a boy called Emerald, and instead of getting your starter from birch you get to pick 3 starters from Prof Elm who visits the region of hoen.
Also I really dislike the lack of pokeballs in the games, so i'm gonna add more shops, some are secret's some need to be unlocked by badges.
Every shop has different item's.
And maybe, if i can i dont think this will happen but, I want to add a small region, with 5 towns to visit.
This region has strong trainers and strong wild pokemon, just to make it more fun team rocket is on that island for a reason.

Again I wanna work on this hack, but need to wait for my new computer haha.
So if any of you guy's have ideas just post them, as long as there simple and not to hard.

Emerald, is the hardest ROM to hack due to less tools, it is the least stable of all of them also.

It looks too much like Ruby/ Sapphire, because it basically IS R/S, just with all this extra stuff all cramped in, with some offsets all moved around.

Also, you can't have another region into the game.
unless you take alot of maps away from Hoenn.

Due to its Good stability, I suggest that, if you are going to try and hack this, Make Backups OFTEN.

Nah a new region is not needed, if I delete some islands, like those islands where deoxys and mew are located.
I could replace that with a new island, but those things arn't even planned right now.
First i need to make sprites of Emerald, and add new places throughout hoen.
I'm planning to place Emerald's home-town in Little Root Town, but not in a house.
He lives in the woods, he's no jungle man or something like that =P.
Everything is it unclear about Emerald, I can't find any information about him.

Time to show my finished sprite of the Hero Emerald.
This sprite is made by me and stealing is not an option for you =).

I used the colours of Coronis's sprite.
Some of you might know this Emerald Character, I dont know much information about him though.

Update.

As you see above I finished the hero sprite Emerald, It turned out pretty good.
I also finished his Backsprite.

And I made the totodile Ow sprite, it's not all but just a few =)

hey crossel im really lovin this idea it looks pretty good so far, the only thing im not lovin is your totodile overworlds, they dont look like totodile at all, and idont mean the color. so all i can say is make totodile look more like totodile

Yes, your right about the totodile sprite, small things are hard to sprite, I will remake them sooner or later. thanks for your comment. =)
Right now all I need is some idea's from people, what would you like to see in this better version of emerald?
Like I already have an idea for the rock gym leader, she is gonna get replaced by brock, more info about this soon.
Also does anyone knows wally ? we don't know much about him besides that's he's a wimp =p
Well I'm gonna show you wally's story abit too, so expect to see him more often in this game.

Hey, Crossel, the hero sprite of Emerald looks great, but there's something about his face that looks weird.
Also, the backsprite of Emerald is pretty good, but his hair needs a little bit more of a curve, and it needs to be a little higher than that (his self is short, but his hair isn't). xD

By the way, I'm a very experienced spriter, so if you'd like some sprites, don't hesitate to ask.

The idea of this hack is turning out very well, I hope you make some more ideas. Good luck!

I do like the hero sprite of Emerald, It didn't took me long to make it though, i might change a few things.
His backsprite is abit strange haha, I´ve noticed the bad parts of it, and I´m gonna change it for 100 %.

Well Hermes I dont need anything right now, but i keep it in mind when i need anything =)
But maybe you want to create a totodile overworld for me ?
Mine is abit weird, and i dont feel like changing it right now, so maybe you wanna do it.

Yes this is kinda a Emerald remake, the original Emerald annoyed me abit, it was lacking of something new.
New maps and tiles are planned, but it's still to early to discuss about that.
And also I forgot to mention, a female hero is not in this game, Why?
Well because this story is about Emerald, and Ruby and Saphire also had the hero and heroine.
Screens would be nice, but it would take a while, need to get my new computer to work on the game, for now I just do the important sprites.
