Hello im thinking of making a new pokemon RPG

Hello, I'm new here

Ill cut to the chase, I'm thinking of making a Pokemon RPG but I'm need of help. I've downloaded RPG Maker and a Pokemon Starter Kt from the Game Resources thread, but I'm extremely new to RPG Maker XP and I don't have that much experience in scripting and coding either nor with spriting ( yea i know, its sad), the only things that i made so far was the Gym Leaders, the Elite, and I'm gonna try and using the mapping tutorial threads to make the region Map.

So, basically I'm gonna need some help with scripting, spriting,and well basically everything :/

I'd really hate to be a burden but i would really like to make my own Pokemon RPG, so if anyone would like to help me maybe we could exchange email addresses or maybe IM each other on MSN to share ideas, etc

I'm still in need of help for the Pokemon game I'm making, so far i already have one spriter willing to help me he we've exchanged email addresses right after I 'v made the first post we've already made a few sprites and already part of the story

The Story so far goes like this:

You wake early in the morning and you see your mom in your room beckoning you to to come down stairs quickly and when you come downstairs you see on the TV about a documentary remarking on what happened 10 years ago about an unknown trainer singe-handedly defeating the evil syndicate that plotted to use special Pokemon called Shadow Pokemon to rule the world and also defeated their strongest Shadow Pokemon that was a Shadow Lugia that they called XD001 that they stated it was "un-purifiable" and they also remark one the events that happened 5 year prior of an unknown trainer that was said to used to be part of the evil syndicate but turned to justice and betrayed the, and defeated them along with with his female partner.


Thats what we have so far, the spriter that volunteered to help me has made sprites of a few cool new Pokemon that are also going to be in the game.

The story continues like this:

After you leave your house and visit the professor lab she will help you prepare and begin your journey by giving you 5 Poke Balls, the PokeDex, and then she gives some information saying that there have been some sightings of maybe new types and species of Pokemon and she shows 3 pictures of 3 new Pokemon that are believed by many to be legendary:

the first on will be Fire Type:

[FONT=&quot]Afterwards she presents you 3 starter Pokemon 2 of which is another newly discovered Pokemon:

The Spriter also made 2 new types of Deoxys forms that i would like in the game:[/FONT]

And another one that you could commonly find in the wild

I've Also made the Gym Leaders and The Elite Four

Iv made Trainer Cards for them, the E4 go in this order:

And here is the Champion:

I've also thought of a great set up for the E4, if take a look at the map you see all the islands? well i was think having four islands on the out edge of the map around the 2 smaller islands have them leads all the way up to the island on the top left island. And each island will have a small tower that has an elevator thats leads to the roof of the tower where a member of the E4 will be and after you beat each one you will receive recognition and permission to take the boat at the dock of the island and it will take you the next island with the next member of the E4 and each island leads to the to the island on the top left corner of the map where the Realgam Tower will be on and it is where the Champion will be waiting. But remember you wont be able to go to the island until you have all 8 badges.







Thats about we have so far we're still in need of a lot help with various stuff may need more spriters, coders, scripters, and other things. I'm pretty of thinking of events but we could use more event creators too. So if you would like to help us out you can maybe email me or add my email address on MSN so maybe we can IM each other. i'll help with basically anything you need as i can mainly do everything although i have yet to comeplete my brain download of Ruby aka RGSS but you ask i will try

Why don't you try Pokemon Essentials?-Poccils RMXP starter kit
it even has a help file so you can know what to do and about your region map
I can make one that looks more 3-D and more like 'Official"
so if you want one PM me and don't forget to try out pokemon essentials!

Look at it in RMXP and then just ALT + Print screen

Before you actually make a game, I recommend you just play with Pokemon Essentials (the starter kit) for a few months and familiarize yourself with everything. Game development is extremely hard and it's extremely easy to get lost, so you should learn as much as possible before actually making a game. Instead of working on your game, right now I recommend you join the staff of one of the games in the Games Showcase. That's a good way to gain some experience.

Of course it is, seeing as you stole those sprites! I don't remember whose names they are, but you definitely stole those. After I have found the creators, I'm reporting you to them.

Also, the region map is just bad. For starters, it is at least 5 times too big, and would never fit in the game.

I'm sick and tired off all these talentless noobs who come here, trying to make a game but don't even know where to begin. It is a real disgrace that this is how Pokémon Essentials is being used, and I predict that this is how 99% of all Pokémon Essentials games will be like in the near future.

EDIT: Here we are. The ORIGINAL creator of the grass starters, Avenger Of All Pokesouls. PROOF IS HERE.
They also created the legendary Pokémon seen here, and the (now pathetically recoloured) basic bird Pokémon.

I'm not blaming you for sprite theft, as you didn't know they were stolen. How is Houndoomed saying the map is too big a bad thing? He was suggesting you should shrink it, as you didn't say you would anywhere...

But he is right, I'd get to grips with the aspects of game making before attempting a big project.

PS. If by Gym Leader and E4 sprites you mean the ones on the trainer cards, you might want to change them. Pokécharms doesn't allow their use outside of the trainer cards made with their generator.

Okay okay, ill talk with Naruto about this issue and I guess i really should've practice before into this but thats why actually making a game I think it sort-of making me learn how to, besides i got Poccil's starter kit and im usinh his Usage notes so ill just learn more as i go

If you want, here's a pretty effective way of knowing whether someone is stealing sprites. Just draw a Fakemon and scan it in, or draw one on Paint. Then, send it to the "spriter", and ask them to sprite it. If they refuse, or if the sprite they do make is really bad compared to the others they "made", you can pretty much tell that they're stealing from somewhere.
