When you battle do you use all out force? Or do you decide to out wit your opponents with stat reducing moves? Or lure them in with moves that take effect over time.. (Such as Burn, Poison etc..)

I tend to use force since I really can not come up with good move sets and combo things. All though, that all could change..

Generally, whenever I get my starters and they're low leveled, I usually use their power-reducing move, but once my Pokemon get stronger, then I shift to brute force. I usually replace moves like Growl or Leer.

Thats exactly what I do, moves like Growl feel like they have no effect.

I've always been one to try hard at forming a strategy, then give up and just use power. =P Stat reducers and such are great if you have patience, a field I am quite unfortunately lacking in.

I generally just rely on brute force and type differance.
The only exception is when I use grass types; then I'm slow and steady. I use thinks like poison, leech seed, etc. to weaken them and then just sit back and wait.

Build my team around its fellow members' weaknesses and I tend to cover types and both sides of the attacking spectrum.

For competitive battling, I just build a team and go with the flow. :#

I usualy endure through battle for a long time, slowly watching my enemy melt from a purple goo we know as Toxic. And when the time is right I shift gears and make a full out attack.

but its not always Toxic. Sometimes, Ill suicide my pokemon when they can no longer go on (destiny bond/ explosion)

    Good topic!

I have my own strategies, but I don't start into them until I'm positive what my opponent is up to. If I'm sure that what they're trying to do won't work on my team, I'll switch when necessary, but go full out attack mode. Haha.

I tend not to pay attention to type strengths/weaknesses, most of the time you can work around these with proper switching.

For my battles, I favor party-enhancing moves such as Agility or Swords Dance. After all, if you use Growl or Leer, it works only on the current foe, and once you faint it you'll have to start all over again with the next foe. In my master team, Scyther has both moves, combine with Slash and HyperBeam.

If my party is too underleveled to have such attack, or straighty won't learn them, I work my way with moves that have a prolonged effect. Supersonic/Confuse Ray and anything that can inflict Paralysis are my favourites, and then my life saver, my trusty starter Ivysaur's Leech Seed. I can't emphatize enough the way that move has saved me from rough spots, including surpresively unprepared Rival fights. I don't use Toxic because I somehow forgot it existed. But I'll work around that soon...

Oh, and there is always a Pokémon in my team that has a surprise move, like Horn Drill or Flail, coupled with a multihit like Doubleslap... Just in case I have time to do some DireHit or X-Attack...

I usually go for a powerful offense, though on occasion there are a few nasty move combos I like to use; for example, in Diamond, my Haunter knows Hypnosis and Nightmare.... It kind of depends on what suits me, though most of my team is pure offense...

Which means my defense isn't that great. D=

I usually battle with all my might, so I attack and reduce my foe's stats. I'm kind of like a mixture of strategies in my battles...

I battle using Strategy.. Such as poison, burn, paralyze ect...

I like fast and defensive Pokemon that's how I achieve victory..

My strategy is unbeaten thus far. I am currently ranking fist of the Champion Tower (meaning if you want to fight me you have to go through eleven other trainers).
