I'll admit pokemon following you is cool, but nintendo fails to realize that it's the simplicity we liked.

Speak for yourself sir. Simple is great, but that doesn't necessarily mean everything needs to be simple. Some things do need to progress and advancement, and Pokemon games are one of these things. It is a game after all...

I'm ok with all the new things, like this Pokéwalker and Pokéthlon as long as they add new features in the normal gameplay, useful things for battles, story improvement, and whatnot. The thing is that they don't :(

The PokéWalker definitely does. OK, so we've always been able to catch and train Pokémon and find items, but it's a new way of doing those things. And in a game like Pokémon where, let's face it, we spend a lot of time doing the same thing over and over again; I think the PokéWalker should be a lot of fun.

Actually, same goes for the Pokéthlon. Things like that might not be major features, but they're a welcome break from the monotony so I'm all for them. :D

I agree, Nintendo is working WAY to hard on this game, trying to make it perfect, when it's not needed. The reason people, IMO, like GSC so much, is because they were the only games that never had a re-make until now. When HG/SS comes out, people will stop playing GSC, and it will die out, like the rest of the originals.
Not true. Even though they had remakes, a fair number of people still play Red and Blue, occasionally. The same will go for G/S/C (or would if they could still save :/).

I'm not sure that crystal has died yet.

I don't see how a completely new game is going to "ruin" the old one. It's on a completely different system. It's not like the old one is going to be changed at all. I like the drawing thing because if you are playing the game at 11:58 pm and you're waiting for it to be 12:00am so you can battle in the battleground or re-battle your rival, you need something to do before waiting for the time to pass. So, I draw. I don't want to open up Pictochat to draw. If you're so worried, then don't play it. You can still play the originals. They haven't touched those. This is just new game that just happens to have similar ideas as the originals had. Don't worry. You're worrying for nothing. The best thing is to have no expectations, so you won't get let down. Pretend you have never even played Pokemon until you play this game. HGSS and the original GS are two completely different things. FrLg were way different than the originals. (And better IMO.) Don't worry.

The great thing about Gold and Silver was that it was a new game with new Pokemon, and we were all ten. The new games have gotten better, not worse. Yes, some of the new features are completely pointless, but apart from some minor scrolling issues, they do not detract from the experience.

I doubt that this game will live up to all expectations. That would be impossible as most of them contradict others. This game will, however, meet a lot of expectations, and in the end that's all we can really ask of a game. This game will be great if you can look past some of the flaws.

    I think I love you.....

Major props for the comparisons my friend. The old to new is like a turkey being chucked at a rainbow and coming down as a peacock. It looks wayy better IMO

^ LOL, I totally agree with you on that. :3

Ok, now it's my turn. Soooo much to say. I warn you, I get critical.

To start off, Hey man, I respect your opinion. But I can't say I completely agree with you.

What my good man Chronic edge said, is completely true. When the metal games came out, it completely changed on how we played Pokemon and surprised us with new Pokemon, new regions and new adventures. So, let me ask you this, why do you think the remakes of probably the best Pokemon games ever, will be a big letdown? Because it includes newer things from the newest generations of the game?

If i'm not mistaken, EVERY single new Pokemon game released after Generation II has been praised by both fans and critics alike. I think the lowest rating a pokemon game has gotten has been like a 8.5 out of 10....My point is, with every new game. New things are added: new Pokemon, locations, quests, etc. And always it has been proven to make a game better, this includes remakes.

A good example, is when Fire Red and Leaf Green came out. A classic and very well made role playing game gets better Graphics, sound, game play and additional features. It blew me away to be playing what I was playing years earlier, but better.

So if Leaf Green and Fire Red where remakes of the ORIGINAL Pokemon games, and were pretty well received, imagine how Heart Gold and Soul Silver are going to be with all the stuff in the Pokemon games up til now. Since many consider the Metal games to be THE BEST of the pokemon games, imagine how the remakes are going to be. We are going to get better Graphics, re-imagined story and area locations, the G/S/C Pokemon with Updated moves, etc.

Now, on to some of your statements.

Let me get this straight, your complaining about the Poketech because it has apps that you would never use? I mean seriously, does it bother you THAT much? Who cares? You probably spend more time playing the game than caring or using your Poketch for the the most part.

Another thing, you found the tutorials annoying. You do realize that Pokemon attracts gamers from all ages, but they majority that play it are usually between the ages of 10 and 15? I mean, not EVERYBODY has been playing Pokemon ever since it came out. The tutorials are there for a REASON. And If I'm not wrong, I think you could disable or exit most of the tutorials if you chose to...

As for berries, when they were in G/S/C its basically the same as today. Except you didn't have to plant them, you'd just wait a day and they would be back in the same spot.

In my opinion, I think the remakes are going to be a success. But I think the talk about the Metal games is a little too much, especially since a North American release date hasn't even been announced. :/ There's also the fact that I KNOW for certain people are going to play HG and SS on emulators once somebody translates a Rom from Japanese to English. This is probably where most people are going to form their opinions about the game.

So here's my point, I don't see how you can criticize a game that hasn't even come out yet by not knowing ANYTHING about how the game will be. Yes, details have been revealed And ALL of us have been aware of the few changes made, by seeing pictures and gameplay.

You can't say a game is going to be a big letdown because of a FEW flaws that don't affect or matter at all to your primary gaming experience.

I may be wrong, but I don't think any of the concerns you posted in your statement have been mentioned that they will be included or added in the HG and SS remake.

At least, nothing you mentioned appears in what I read in Bulbapedia when I first heard of the remakes:

    https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_HeartGold_and_SoulSilver_Versions#Aesthetic_changes

All I can see is that the Pokegear, not POKETECH, will have alternate colors for the Boy and Girl characters. :P

    I rest my case.

    Well,

DONT USE THE NEW FEATURES AND STICK WITH THE ORIGINALS! AND THERE'S A COMPLAINTS THREAD FOR THIS!

Take of the nostalgia goggles. They're new games. And, nobody in the world has played the complete game. How'd you know its rubbish?

    Seriously, think about it.

That's funny that you think that GSC was simple.

Last time I checked, Gold/Silver/Crystal were anything BUT simple. They added more features than any other game since:

    • 2 New types which completely balanced the Game
    • Day/Night system, which was scrapped in 3rd Gen and re-introduced in 4th
    • Berries
    • Different types of Pokeballs (Not just the apricorns, because they were the means to an end. You couldn't do anything with just the apricorns themselves.)
    • Events: Celebi. Even though it wasn't brought to America, it was still one of the first event pokemon
    • Events that happened depending on the day of the week. There were several: bug catching on tuesdays and thursdays, that lady in the underground on monday mornings, the barber shop brothers, the weekday siblings..
    • EV training. Yes, ev training was first introduced in G/S/C. The difference then was that you could max out every stat, rather than 510 evs.
    • Shiny Pokemon
    • Gender
    • Crystal introduced the first playable female character
    • Running Legendaries
    • Full Color
    • Different Pockets for different stuff
    • Pokegear
    • Re-battling trainers
    • Radio
    • Battle Tower (Crystal)
    • Held items
    • Mail
    • Breeding
    • Customizable Rooms
    • Mystery Gift
    • A mom that actually did more than sit there. She saved your cash like a bank. Granted, that was scrapped later, but it was something
    • Different Formes of the same pokemon (Unown)

Also, in terms of the PokeWalk.. that's not new. That's, like, a remake of Pokemon Pikachu. It looks as though they're going to pack whatever features that were in Pokemon Yellow that werent' in any other game into HG/SS. Which excites me a lot.

Nintendo thinks we got used to features from other generations-pokétch, pokégear, Berries. So, they think, we "like" the new features. And, I agree with the 1st post-It should be more simple.
We have ALL these events with legendary pokemon, the pokewalker etc...It should be more simple...but not too simple...it should be a real challange this time.

huh.. i never thought about it like that. thats a good point SMGkururu

But i think it will be good, the whole reason for a remake is to make some changes, its not going to be the same. it wont be as simple but i think it wont be to complicated. i think it will be good, and that we will all be satisfied with it. no matter what people say about it im still goning to be excited about it.

Umm, are you ganna let new generation products deduct fun from your game play? Really, if you do not like the PokeTch, don't use it, simple as that. Shouldn't you be playing the game for fun?

And Game Freak made the PokeWalker to get more player active in exercising, if you do not like exercising, do not use the model, simple as that.
