-He was seen in 9 episodes, 6(80-82/ 220-222) in original anime and 3 in Pokémon chronicles. He was also in the manga "Electric Tale of Pikachu"

I PRIMARY WANTED TO OPEN THIS THREAD AT SEREBII FORUMS BUT IT WAS CLOSED COZ THEY DONT TOLERATE DEBATING, I HOPE I CAN MAKE LEAGUESHIPPING MORE POPULAR HERE

I make this thread coz I havent found any official thread about leagueshipping, I wondered why its not here but it is how it should be. Im true leagueshipper and would lead a general discussion thread at its best, Im not that fakeshipper who supports several shippings, I only support LEAGUESHIPPING since there is no evidence that any other shipping(only connected to ash) can be so true as leagueshipping, I only registered here to tell the facts about leagueshipping and what its all about, coz I wanna share the facts that there cant be a better match for Ash than Ritchie, I study leagueshipping since july 08, it changed my life in extreme way, Pokémon showed me the way of friendship I always desired, it unblinded me and showed what I have missed, and what other people miss and maybe some people are still blind and dont see what Pokemon showed me, I dontk now how other people are. Leagueshipping has much to do with my personal life, theres an issue with my best friend, I dont wanna go into this issue except that I tell that Ritchie symbolizes my best friend, he looked like him when he was the same age(same hair color, same smile, same face edges...), now I cant tell more about this, I feel forced to write this otherwise nobody here would know what leagueshipping means. Leagueshipping belongs to my life and I think much about it everyday(I think more only about my best friend), although its not real but it showed me that I missed, you must read all the text or you wouldnt understand leagueshipping, I only want to represent facts.

In the beggining God chose heterosexuality as the main sexuality coz of the oneness between the genders due to the huge difference between them and coz of reproduction, later when sin came it was able to become gay due to a genetic defect(sin has to do much with genetics), this doesnt mean that it was a real homosexuality coz the homosexuality can imitate heterosexuality and it isnt then a real homosexuality, it imitates heterosexuality if 2 same genders have different positions in relationship, 1 is dominant and 1 is feminine, this is no what homosexuality is, this is just an imitation of heterosexuality. To keep the real homosexuality both partners must freely abstain from the dominance, they are 2 males and not 1 female and 1 male so there may not be any "husband" dominance, who doesnt abstain from this cant enjoy real homosexuality, nor can heterosexuals also enjoy that what homosexuals enjoy. The perfect mix of homosexuality is best friendship and love, best friendship keeps the dominace from the relationship( that is found in heterosexuality), same gender fits better than opposite gender, this is an undeniable fact, nobody can disprove me(Im best psych I told), homosexuality is better than heterosexuality, its more natural, everything what you need to know about homosexuality is on my website(the bottom stuff). I must add that there is a law of heterosexuality and we are under this law, this law makes us to like the opposite gender and it's purpose is for oneness and reproduction only, for nothing else, if we all would be born bisexual then we would rather choose from same gender than other gender and so the heterosexuality would become the homosexuality(coz homosexuality isnt widespread as hetrsx.). Im also under this law and cant escape this although I recognized that I was born with some homosexuality(like 15%), but heterosexuality was my dominant part, these who are born fully homosexual(there is either a real homosexuality or not real(the not real hmsxlty. contains that what contains heterosexuality, especially the "dominant-passive" part)) are born so coz of the defect gene, it was supposed to be everything heterosexual when god planned the world, the homosexuality is a result of sin although its better than heterosexuality and heterosexuality is sick and not natural, its a result of sin coz we're meant to be all heterosexual, and God knows that homosexuality is the right way but for the reproduction sake's.....male and female are too diferent and are opposite, this was one of the reasons why God chose male and female to become 1... there are many that follow not the real homosexuality but there are also that follow the real homosexuality if they are homosexual. You become homosexual if you fall in love with person of the same gender(but there are also other variations of hmsxlty.), naturally it happens if its ur best friend or stuff. If the best friendship is(or was before) involved in the relationship then it makes the relationship more alive and natural, the main point is that homosexuality doesnt have dominance. I know this is new to you but its the truth, there are also several variations of homosexuality, they all have in common that they dont have the dominance(i refer to the old thread where vote poll was: who is the man in satohiro relationship?), if you would have my knowledge you would know how unnatural the heterosexuality is, if you dont accept this then you are blinded by the heterosexuality. What attracts gender to opposite gender is the curiosity for another gender, same gender is a happier relationship than a heterosexual, it has the trust in the same gender and knowledge what the person is gonna to have when he/ she chooses to be with the same gender partner together, its the trust in the own gender.

And coz of this we can see that male-female relationships in Pokémon that have Ash inthere dont have a chance to become true or its obvious enough that Ash dont have real interest in girls, he sees them only as friends, without serious ulterior motives.

I saw all episodes where Ritchie was and of course I watched the EP80-82 several times. Ritchie and Ash feel comfortable with each other due to their personalities that fit together, their characters is almost the same and this makes it attractive to their relationship, they have the friendship that I always wanted to have, they always have passion for each other when they met, I cant believe that nobody sees that, there is something that doesnt need words coz you can feel it. Because Ritchie had almost same personality as Ash it was easy for them to become best friends, there is almost nothing to describe(except some characteristics) coz he is like Ash, when Ritchie first met Ash he saw the kindness of Ash and that his personality matches with Ash's, due to the fact that they were on the same wavelength they wanted to be together, they are soul mates and they understood it at the beginning. Ritchie is the best friend Ash can imagine I guess, I have that friend that is like Ritchie. Ritchie likes to make common things with Ash like promises.........

ONE FACT: there wasnt much time for Ash and Ritchie, otherwise Leagueshipping would dominate Pokemon and other shippings would be disproved, if Ritchie would travel so much time as Misty then Leagueshipping would be canon(and the only shipping), due to the little time between them its undefined if its canon.


WHY IS RiTCHIE ASH'S BEST FRIEND

-Ash never had so much fun and felt so great friendship in such little time as in EP80-82, nowhere in the anime does he repeat this with any other person but Ritchie
-Ash forgets about everything(i dont mean pikachu) when he is together with Ritchie(ep80, sleepover- stars night)
-Ash and Ritchie are always shown together in the anime(Ritchie is either on the left side or right side of him, EP220-222; ep80-82)
-They both feel the friendship passion for eath other(EP80, after they landed with pokemon; ep220 at the begining)
-He has never looked into someone's eyes that long(even with "wavy" eyes)(EP80, at the end; when they shaked hands) it wasnt seen anywhere in the anime again.

-Ash never treated a boy this way as Ritchie in the whole anime (there is no boy in the anime that was treated by Ash so friendshiplikely like Ritchie) (mostly ep80-82)
-He cant get enough of shaking Ritchie's hand(ep80-82; overall he shaked 3 1/2 times his hand(only in 3 episodes); this was never seen in the anime; another handshake is seen in the original japanese opening of the 2nd season, it makes 4 1/2 shakes) 3 shakes and 1 pinky swear, and then there have to be something in episodes 220-222 so that there can be more hand shakes.

-In ep 273 misty said: well ash ketchum, finally i know what you feel about me. Then they separated. She finally recognized that he only likes her as friend, not as girlfriend. the whole pokeshipping has collapsed. Ash is not into misty, this is fact.

-Misty is too old for Ash, she got no tits, she is too big for him- that can never turn out good. Ritchie is perfect for Ash, hes same age and same height. Brock and Misty fit together, he is old she is old, both without lover.

Misty constantly yelled at and insulted Ash through out the show, and is an example of the hiding of feelings for children of that age, however depending on how much older they have gotten since they had met, this may or may not be a very big clue.

-If Ritchie would travel with Ash so long as Misty with Ash then they would probably become a couple because in the episodes 80-82 it couldn't get any better with Ritchie, they already had the best what they could have(he never had that with misty), if we multiply this with 30 then it will be 90, and we can imagine what would happen if Ritchie would travel with him for 90EPs, it already has its success with these only 3 Eps but with 90 they would become a couple, he hadnt that success with misty in 90 episodes.

no we didn't mention this at the stadium, but you did mention her being jealous from the phone call. Anyways, that does make perfect sense though that Misty was probably feeling jealous. Honestly throughtout the whole Indigo-Richie arc Misty pretty much became a secondary character who only appeared to disturb things, and considering the fact that the last time she had talked/seen Ash (up to this scene), he was running off to go meet someone that had been been mean to her. Misty's not stupid, she would have seen the connection that Ash and Richie made during their time together (and doesn't in the manga she comment on their relationship?). She was probably very sub-concious and angry at that point (we all know Misty can be pretty hot-headed), so she decided to take it all out on poor Richie... :~)

-If Ritchie would stay to long as Misty then you know what? That uncontrollable anger-management issued psychopathic wanna be girlfriend wouldnt even have a 0,0001 % of a chance to be with Ash together, the blind people(ash x misty fetishists) just only use the HER LONG TIME WITH ASH AS AN EXCUSE for the mini chances of their shipping(if there are actually any at all..), IF RITCHIE WOULDNT GO THEN YOUR AND OTHER SHIPPINGS WOULD NEVER EXIST, its all because of the long time that these characters spend with Ash, btw Ritchie is a smarter person than Misty and if they had to fight for Ash then Ash would choose Ritchie.

Misty is a selfish wanna be water pokemon trainer, Ritchie would never say this.

-Misty is more jealous of Ritchie than Gary, she considers Ritchie as a competitor for Ash's heart.

-Delia likes Ritchie more than Misty, she said more cute things to Ritchie than to Misty, actually women like an yaoi relationship thats why they write so much of them.

-If she so loves him as few claim then she could just tell it to Ash but she didnt because she doesnt love him, maybe she does but he doesnt love her, thats for sure.

-Ash would choose Ritchie if he had to travel only with 1 person

-Friendship is stronger than a relationship with a woman, Ash would choose Ritchie if he had to. (he can get from Ritchie friendship and relationship, from Misty only relationship, she is a woman and only good friendships are only done with the same gender).

-Misty is a tomboy and feminist, she likes dominance.

- When melody kissed Ash, Misty got jealous and then when Melody asked if she is his gf and then she said no, so she is confused disordered, any normal human would punch Melody for the kiss but instead of that Misty then even refuses to call herself a girlfriend. There is a psychological abnormality connected to sexual errection that makes u horny if u suffer pain(misty had to watch how ash was kissed) from refusing of what you like, there are many variations of this. -If Ash and Misty are meant to be together then they would be a couple before Misty is gone but they never were.

-3Shi cant exist, Ritchie had never something to do with Gary, thats just some female's phantasies.

-Gary never showed interest in Ash, Ritchie is the only one who really cared about Ash, there is no other person in the whole anime who can be compared to Ritchie

THE POiNT OF THEIR PROMISE

-When Ritchie and Ash met they wished to stay together forever and travel together(i assume, they didnt think about to fight against each other) but when Ash had to choose his opponent he unfortunately chose Ritchie, both were shocked about it, to balance out this loss(they had to fight against each other) that was in their way of friendship, Ritchie meant to make the best out of their remained time that they had, he wanted a promise that would go along with their lives: the best battle they ever had, it was the only thing that could save them out of this shocked position because this battle they would remember all their life long and then remember of their best friend(ash/ ritchie), because Ash was hinderned by team rocket he tried anything to come to the most important battle of his life, the only thing to glorify his friendship to Ritchie. Ritchie also tried anything to make Ash able to battle against him when Ash didnt appear. On the another day Ritchie wanted to make another promise because they had their battle and they need now another promise that will last for the time of their life so that they can remember each other because Ritchie knew that he will go away and so they need a thing to remember each other.

-Otherwise it would be hard for Ritchie to go without a battle or something else what he could do with Ash that would be remembered for the REST OF THEIR LIVES.


Ash's relation to Ritchie:

-Ash hides his soft side behind the tough i-wanna-be-pokemonmaster attitude, he feels same as Ritchie but he isnt so plain as Ritchie who doesnt fear to show emotions, Ritchie is more sensible than Ash although they are both sensible but Ash doesnt show this well, Ritchie also thinks reasonable and is probably a cancer in the zodiac wheel.........

MORE IMPORTANT STUFF ABOUT LEAGUESHIPPING

Im a male and I perceive the relationship between them more accurate then females, because they are males and I should know better what is going on between them, Im also in such relationship.

The truth is that they arent in love, its rather a deep best friendship with an ecxtiting desire for more of the friendship, if they would continue in that way then they would end up in love but they arent in love. Maybe they hide something deep in themselves what we cant see, especially Ritchie is hiding and he has a desire for Ash, he also wanted to meet Ash first, Ritchie may be a 1/3 homosexual. What females perceive as love when they see Ash and Ritchie holding hands or something is not really a love, its rather a desire for more body contact, they are not fully in love. If a male falls in love with a male then its something that you would see, Ash and Ritchie would want to be together all these 3 days if they were in love. Though its weird coz they were best friends and they didnt sleep together although best friends cant be separate.They were in a pre-love phase but they didnt fall in love, they acted too "like-people-that-arent-in-love". Its more complicated and females think that between males the relationship is simple.

Today I found out that Ritchie is a lil bit homosexual and so he found Ash cute enough to want to be his best friend, and so he didnt felt ashamed to jump on Ash's back(and he wanted to jump on his back), I was born like 15% homosexual so that I know sometimes I found some males cute and I wanted to be best friend with them, but it happened rare so that this is only an exception, and through this conclusion I knew that Ritchie is more gay than Ash, I think they are both a lil bit gay but dont want to admit it but deep inside they know that they are some homosexual.

If Ash would kiss Ritchie for real then Ritchie wouldnt resist, If Ritchie would kiss Ash then Ash would be shocked but then he wouldnt resist.(but he would resist if somebodys watching) They feel attracted to each other. However I dont know if homosexuality means that if soembody falls in love with a boy or doesnt fall in love with a boy but feel a lil bit attracted to some males... What if Im in love with a boy, dont like females(on own will) and dont feel attracted to other males....(im not in love but i just said that)

-Creators of the eipsode 80 made it on purpose that the stars twinkled in the night, they want to show that Ash and Ritchie are destined to be together forever.

-When the camera pans up to the top floor the instrumental music TOGETHER FOREVER starts to play, could this be a foreshadowing of what was to come?

Ash then decides to run after Team Rocket's van and Richie to Ash's surprise follows him. (Together Forever, hmmm?)

why is he following him??
-Richie then suggests that the only way to catch up to Team Rocket would be to go down the mountain, and Ash being Ash says ok, and runs down the mountain. Richie follows Ash only so that Ash doesn't end up dead by running off the cliff and has to jump on top of him so Ash can slow down. Ritchie said him on purpose that it's the only way to get TR because he wanted to jump on Ash's back.

-Ash also starts to get depressed and Richie comforts him by saying that together they'll find team rocket and get their pokemon back. (together forever- hints)

-Clearly Richie wanted Ash to talk to him, because his random laugh was just that; random especially since he was making pokemon shapes from the stars. Ash got his interest in it.

Richie tells Ash to connect "those two bright ones…" (Remember that because it will come in handy later) with a few others to create a Pikachu. The two then talk about how much they love pokemon and their dreams for the future. The camera then pans up to the sky where two bright stars show up and shine before fading away. (Now this is the most cutest and Leagueshipping signs because two bright stars were also used to make the one pokemon that both boys love and are most associated with, and the fact that they show up after both boys were talking about their hopes and dreams for the future - which include some pretty big plans - indicating that they both want to be two bright stars in their careers/lives (they did start talking about the sky after all), as well as the fact that they are meant for each other, just combines into a very romantic scene.)

Ritchie could take another elevator since he knew that this one was overcrowded(and he had nothing to do anyways) but he wanted to be with Ash, he ran to it so he wouldnt miss it. Ritchie then sees Pikachu and asks who it belongs to
Richie then sees Pikachu and asks who it belongs to...AS IF HE DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW. Clearly he was determined to strike up a convo with Ash right away. And he even says "You're very lucky" he said that because he wanted to pay Ash a compliment without being so obvious. He compliments Ash immediately, telling him he raised his Pikachu well. Ash gets all modest and shy. Misty even says, "It looks like you're rubbing Pikachu the right way!" Ritchie knew how to handle a pikachu because he has one and he used his experience to learn Ash.

**It seems quite suspicious how Richie comes running up, asking them to hold the elevator door open. I myself have been in situations similar. When I thought a guy was hot, I would make excuses for being near him, at least so I could check him out up close.

-A lot people say that Ritchie is a lot like Ash in the fact that both of their Pikachus dont stay in the poke ball but when Ritchie first met Ash, Leon was in his ball, its because he wanted to hide his own pikachu so he could pretend like he doesnt have own pikachu but still knows how to rub it right, so Ash will get confident with Ritchie, he wanted to interact with Ash.

Ash would *never* have given up looking for his Poikemon any other time. And considering the gravity of the situation...those two have a very sweet and touching time together. It's like...all the cares in the world vanished while they were together.

And I also think Ash probably loves Pikachu just as much, cause he keeps it out of its Pokeball all the time, and he would never ever let Team Rocket steal Pikachu. He'd do ANYTHING to get it back.

-Everytime in front of Misty and Brock when Ash and Ritchie meet then Ritchie always runs away quick when he had the conversation with Ash, its because he gets an errection and doesnt want to see others that he is errected.

Now we all know that Ash isn't the sharpest crayon in the box, but even he should have realized that all Richie said was I want to tell you something about Pikachu and not show you, which means he could have said it over the phone. Clearly Ash was going to see Richie and nothing more. Creators wanted to show that he was interested in Ritchie.

-Ash RAN to Ritchie because he wanted to see him A.S.A.P.(ep 81)

maybe they'll have more time before the battle.

-Ash was colder with Ritchie in EP220 because he didnt wanted that somebody would suspect that he is gay(but they had also no time together so this reason is more plausibble)

In Kanto they were the sweetest thing ever with each other, and Misty and Brock had to suspect. In Johto he decided not to be *so* sweet with Richie when the others were around, so the others wouldn't suspect when Richie and him weren't around

When Richie leaves ("Seeya!") Deliah comments, "What a sweetie!" Prof. Oak says, "Very MATURE for a boy his age." Which then leads Misty to jab Ash by saying, "Unlike a certain OTHER trainer we all know". Ash's reaction to that is just ADORABLE.

Ash didnt understand what Misty meant because he was worried that Ritchie left, he was sad when Ritchie gone

At Team Rocket's phony Pokeball inspection (which was one of Team Rocket's more amusing ploys, btw) Ash immediately spies Richie, smiles, and just HAS to talk to him again. Richie runs over, all happy. Ash says, "I'm glad to see ya!" THEY JUST SAW EACH OTHER LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES AGO yet they act like it's been a lifetime! Way adorable!

**Them running down the hill together was funny, and when Richie jumps on top of Ash to stop him was...well dodgy. Screen caps, anyone? LOL. Richie saves Ash from running off a cliff, and Ash pushes him, which seemingly hurts Richie's feelings. Pretty emotional for a boy you just met, eh Richie?

-He felt closeness to ash otherwise he wouldnt jump on him

-This was the first time a boy has ever laid that way on Ash's back...it was probably bringing all sorts of new revelations/sensations to him.

*Now they are camped out, around a fire...under the moon. Ash apologizes twice to Richie for pushing him earlier. He feels incredibly bad about it. Richie seems shocked, but quickly accepts the apology. Ash then smiles and tells Richie he should be careful, like when he ran out in front of Team Rocket's van. Richie quickly points out Ash did it too. Ash finishes the convo by saying, "I guess we're just a couple of Pokemaniacs!" Richie replies, "Guess so!" Then...Ash looks at Richie with a big smile...and Richie quietly looks at him with a smile. They linger on this a moment before cutting to the moon. It's actually quite romantic.

**We then cut to the two lying under the stars. Richie giggles and Ash asks him what he's doing. Richie teaches Ash how to find Pokemon by connecting stars. The first one he connects is an Onix. Gee...*that's*...like...the most phallic Pokemon ever. Ironic, huh? The second is, of course, Pikachu. The coupling undertones are in full swing, as Richie and Ash talk about how they both really love Pokemon. The two continually look at each other, while lying right next to each other in their sleeping bags. Seriously, Ash *never* sleeps right next to Brock or Misty while camping out. And he never has sweet conversations with them. This is new territory for Ash, all the way.

**When it's over, Richie says "Don't thank me...thank Pikachu!" What does Ash say IMMEDIATELY after this? "THANK YOU!!!" Once again, ADORABLE.

maybe Richie doesn't like/didn't want to say goodbye to his (boy)friend so he said it to Pikachu (remember those Pikachu references from 'A Friend in Deed') instead

It's different because his rival is his new love <3 and he doesn't want to hurt his pokémon or anything (or lose his love, for that matter xD).
................He must have been moping at that window for hours. Ash, while a kind and friendly guy, is rather selfish when it comes to Pokemon training. It was, technically, out of character for him to obsess over this at all....let alone for such a time. When Ash had to battle Misty, he was shocked at first, but then quickly became determined to beat her with no objections. The Silver Conference...his battle with Gary...is the only time Ash ever introverted like this. Although, Ash didn't get sad and depressed, he just got rather quiet and wonderous.

Richie's stats- The only thing that gets Ash out of his depression, "something about Richie"

When they knew they were going to fight each other, it was afternoon, and now it's night. So, Ash has been thinking about Richie THE WHOLE DAY!

He and Hiroshi share the same dream. He didn't want to have to battle someone who was exactly like him and probably tear that dream from him. It was the first time he'd ever had any kind of major battle with a friend, especially someone who's like him

when misty enters the stadium and stamps on richie's foot, i thought that maybe she was feeling a bit jaleous of richie. i mean, maybe it wasn't just the phone call...
Anyways, that does make perfect sense though that Misty was probably feeling jealous. Honestly throughtout the whole Indigo-Richie arc Misty pretty much became a secondary character who only appeared to disturb things, and considering the fact that the last time she had talked/seen Ash (up to this scene), he was running off to go meet someone that had been been mean to her. Misty's not stupid, she would have seen the connection that Ash and Richie made during their time together (and doesn't in the manga she comment on their relationship?). She was probably very sub-concious and angry at that point (we all know Misty can be pretty hot-headed), so she decided to take it all out on poor Richie... :~)She senses she has competition for Ash's heart. Misty then tells Ash, "Prince Charming wants to talk to you!" I swear, Ash practically floats to the phone, VERY quickly. It was if he was awaiting the call. Misty storms off grumbling, "I should have known he was too good to be true..."

-When they made the promise Ritchie run away somewhere. Ash had wavy eyes, he never had so much wavy eyes as in episodes where Ritchie was.

Richie goes somewhere and Ash is about to cry again xDD

-When Ash was in trouble, he reminded that promise that they made, Ash

not the battle, again Richie becomes the top priority over everything and everyone
(It's also interesting that Ash says "a promise is a promise" referring to Richie and then later when Richie comes back a few seasons later one of the episode titles he's in is called "A Promise is a Promise.")

Since when has Misty spoken to Richie? Because if we watch "A friend in deed" again, we can't see them talking. So why call him "Prince Charming" if she doesn't know him?

I know there has to be a word for her expression, but I can't think of it right now) and even though that wasn't the case, she agreed and he changed the subject. That got me thinking, Ash has traveled with enough girls for sooo long, that he should by now be able to at least understand them a little bit. Clearly other than the fact that Ash is a little dim, the main reason why he STILL doesn't understand girls is because he doesn't like them and thus has no reason to understand/care about what they go through.

I mean, they focus more on Richie and how Ash reacts to/with him than they do the Pokemon battles. Luckily, I'm both so I found it to be great! These episodes spawned off not only future Richie appearances (Richie is the ONLY league rival who has reappeared on the show after the league), they spawned off a rather large, large number of Leagueshippers to boot. I loved it.

-Ritchie said in the Chronicles that he wants to visit Ash.

There is a theory in which when trainers are in love, their Pokemon fall in love. Well in the lake scene, sparkie and Pikachu are clearly making out. Love frolic if I've ever saw one. Sparkie and Pikachu are just projecting what Ash and Richie are feeling. BTW PIKACHU NEVER PLAYED WITH OTHER POKEMON THIS WAY, THIS CONFIRMS THAT RITCHIE AND ASH LEON AND PIKACHU BELONG TOGETHER; HOW CAN U NOT SEE IT U HOMOPHOBES

Ash looks particularly concerned when he sees Richie unconscious. At the very least, he stays by Richie's side instead of checking on Misty or Brock.

I think if you are a supporter of a particular ship, like say Pokeshipping, Leagueshipping, or Rocketshipping, for example, you're going to put everything under a microscope when the two characters are involved, and "look" for any little thing that could possibly suggest or provide justification for your position. A lot of times, because a person is partial to a particular ship, their view isn't going to be "clear" because they want to see what they believe to be a possibility. When it comes to shippings in Pokemon, I think a lot of people look so hard for "clues" or "hints" that they often take any scene that could qualify as evidence and then try and link it to other "evidence" while throwing in some exaggeration and personal opinion.

I guess what I'm trying to say is people see/hear what they want to see/hear. A supporter of Ash & May might watch a certain scene (such as when Ash comes to the rescue of May in the episode May catches a Bulbasaur or in the episode they spend almost 20 minutes bickering) and see "hints" of potential feelings in how they act towards each other, where as a non-supporter might just say it's what friends do. Another example could be for supporters of Ash & Gary, when Gary gives Ash the other half of the pokeball from their childhood and they hold hands briefly under the moonlight near the lake. Supporters of that ship are going to say it has "romantic undertones" to it, while non-supporters are going to say it's just a sign of them becoming friends. One final example could be the episode Ash catches Tailow, in which we see Ash still carries with him the cloth Misty gave him in "Gotta Catch Ya Later". Supporters of Ash & Misty might point to it as evidence that Ash wanted to always have with him something of Misty's, while non-supporters might say it's just a symbol of their friendship. So as you can see, it all depends on your preference/perspective.

I don't think there is anything wrong with supporting a certain 'ship and sharing your thoughts as to potential evidence as long as you realize someone else could interpret your evidence in an entirely different way. Always be open to what others have to say, because when it comes to shippings in Pokemon, there is very little factual evidence!

Even if its true(and its true), Ash and Gary never had that relationship that satoshi/heroshi have, its just like ritchie is ash's best friend but he doesnt know him for long time, he knows gary from a long time but he doesnt consider gary as a better friend than ritchie, ritchie and satoshi never ever had any hostility against each other and they also never got upset about each other nor did they competed against each other(unlike in the morrison AG episode118), you cant deny this.

In the original, he only implies that he had many friends he needed to say goodbye to, not particularly a her.

Not a fan of gay shipping but whatevever. I don't see why everyone keeps flaming him for expressing his opinion. I support gay rights just like Usagi. You can't force someone to agree with your opinion though. Its a right we all have.

im not into gay rights i just tell what god wants all to know, i wrote about homosexuality to make clear that homosexuality isnt about effeminacy, to inform people that they shouldnt say nonsense as "who is the man in the yaoi relationship"...that sentence even contradicts leagueshipping, sato and hiro arent in love. i wrote it for better understanding of leagueshipping, i joined here to debate(and bash) about leagueshipping, i wanted to disprove pokeshipping but u make it offtopic. here r too few people who r leagueshippers, need more to make people to pay attention at the truth. there are only few leagueshippers, must do something or it will die out.

Quick question, since when did he give up Pikachu for Ritchie? oO; I understand fandom parings but unless the guys come out and say "HAY ASHxRITCHIE IS OFFICIAL" in the show plotline itself [Like Tidus and Yuna in FFX etc etc] then it's not 100% Official and you're talking hypothesis, not solid theory. oO;

Where's the official declare of love in the anime from Ritchie to Ash or vice versa? Answering my own question. It doesn't exist. Leagueshipping has as much reasoning to it as Pokeshipping which has as much reasoning to it as bacon does to dirt. [Pigshipping?] The reason that ships tend to struggle in the Pokemon Anime Genre alllll goes back to the fact that Ash is a GaryStu. v_v

While the textbook Mary Sue is generally made as a pseudo-realistic ideal of feminine perfection, Gary Stu tends towards taking the Rule Of Cool TO THE EXTREME!! Due in part to the Double Standard, Gary tends to be less of an emotional cornerstone and more just an embodiment of pure physical and mental awesome (ala God Mode Stu). He's the type that tends to be stronger than the The Incredible Hulk, smarter than Bill Nye the Science Guy, faster than Sonic The Hedgehog, and have more MP than Jesus himself.

Ash hardly ever loses, he's always got a pick me up, he's always getting to towns that are several hours BY CAR RIDE apart in SHEER HOURS and yet his feet haven't endured any sort of stress fracture.

I think if you are a supporter of a particular ship, like say Pokeshipping, Leagueshipping, or Rocketshipping, for example, you're going to put everything under a microscope when the two characters are involved, and "look" for any little thing that could possibly suggest or provide justification for your position. A lot of times, because a person is partial to a particular ship, their view isn't going to be "clear" because they want to see what they believe to be a possibility. When it comes to shippings in Pokemon, I think a lot of people look so hard for "clues" or "hints" that they often take any scene that could qualify as evidence and then try and link it to other "evidence" while throwing in some exaggeration and personal opinion.

I guess what I'm trying to say is people see/hear what they want to see/hear. A supporter of Ash & May might watch a certain scene (such as when Ash comes to the rescue of May in the episode May catches a Bulbasaur or in the episode they spend almost 20 minutes bickering) and see "hints" of potential feelings in how they act towards each other, where as a non-supporter might just say it's what friends do. Another example could be for supporters of Ash & Gary, when Gary gives Ash the other half of the pokeball from their childhood and they hold hands briefly under the moonlight near the lake. Supporters of that ship are going to say it has "romantic undertones" to it, while non-supporters are going to say it's just a sign of them becoming friends. One final example could be the episode Ash catches Tailow, in which we see Ash still carries with him the cloth Misty gave him in "Gotta Catch Ya Later". Supporters of Ash & Misty might point to it as evidence that Ash wanted to always have with him something of Misty's, while non-supporters might say it's just a symbol of their friendship. So as you can see, it all depends on your preference/perspective.

I don't think there is anything wrong with supporting a certain 'ship and sharing your thoughts as to potential evidence as long as you realize someone else could interpret your evidence in an entirely different way. Always be open to what others have to say, because when it comes to shippings in Pokemon, there is very little factual evidence!
