  • According to Bulbapedia, it just mentions hundreds of years ago and that guy's name is Aaron: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Lucario_and_the_Mystery_of_Mew. I would like to think it took place 500 years ago for some reason, though. XD;

No, I'm pretty sure only three have been mentioned. And has Ash even shown any signs of Gary Stu powers Aura powers since that movie?

Or wait . . . what happened in the Spiritomb episode again?
Ash having Aura powers doesn't make him a Gary Stu. The revelation of him suddenly having them without explanation or him earning it and whatknot does, however D:

I thought too, that it mentioned 500 years in the movie, though I know that in my fic, I mention it to be 500 years ago. But in this case, that Sir Aaron is unrelated to my fic, though it doesn't mean I would hesitate mentioning him... I could even tweak it to my advantage, saying that those two warring nations were a direct result of my fic, and that it so happened that sir aaron had been there... Of course I'd have to take setting into account though, and I don't think I'm even close there. As I've mentioned it to be in Sinnoh.

Yeah, I'll probably have it so that all the nations were at war, or something to that effect. Or even hint at it not being a stable time...

EDIT: I've planned it so that it was meant to be in Sinnoh. Plus I'm going with the timeline. From after one of the movies. Ummm I think it was the space time one.

  • What do you do when you get writers block?
Writer's block happens to me when I've come across a problem in my story that I can't solve. I'll sit for an hour or two, thinking about it and trying to write around (or eliminate) the problem. In severe cases, I'll take some time off. I'll never take more than a week off, or else I'll never get to solving it. So basically, I just tackle the block and try to overcome it.

    Wow. o_o
Less than a week? You're unofficially my hero! xD

I usually try to ignore writing. Writer's Block happens to me all-too frequently. Listening to music (some relaxing ones) is also helpful for me. These blocks usually happen when there's something troubling me, but they rarely wear off in less than a month or so (depending on what kind of part in the chapter it is).

  • Mizan, oh cool. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time to review it.!
Thanks, but it's not up yet. XD
I gotta force myself to write three more chapters so that if I slack off, I can just post those backup chapters.

@Feign: Can't say much since I don't watch the Anime these days(I used to though). I haven't even watched the movies yet. :O

I've always like the movies better than the anime... The characters there are at least just a bit more real, and even the conflict is real for a change.

  • Yeah, but they were getting a bit recycled up to D/P. Then they got interesting again, purely by virtue of having better graphics and effects.

I know what you mean. I stopped sometime in the middle of Hoenn. I just can't take how theyve made Ash ten again pretty much in the new episodes.

That's because the real Ash is in a coma, and the whole adventure is an unconscious dream that explores his mind.

kekeke :P Actually I was legitimately discussing that theory a while back in pokemon general. Not really as a possibility but rather as the idea in and of itself.

(just had a 2 hour nap)

They did sort of do a reel back in DP as well, from Team Rocket just out right trying to steal pokemon from a pokemon centre, and Ash using his Aura... Kind of like well needed nods to certain times of the anime perhaps?

Ha! I like that, and I could definitely believe it. I mean Pikachu has not used a thunder since like Johto. But it may be for the younger generation, who knows. I guess I'll just stick to the first five seasons and be happy =D

  • On the Ash's coma theory, it's like WTF. I remember that thread here, I believe. XD

I actually liked the Hoenn season, though it's because I stopped watching the anime for a while and then went back watching it again. XD I still think second season (the Orange Islands) is the best, though. Fun stuff there. :3

  • I would personally like to decapitate Ash by slamming the trunk lid of a LeSabre on his head multiple times, but that's just me.

But I do have to credit the anime for giving me the inspiration to get into fan fiction in the first place. If it wasn't for the show's epic fail-ness, I would have had no need to write my own Pokemon adventure :P

Ah well, aside from my one shot (of Ash having to sacrifice Pikachu), in my current fic, Ash won't be having it easy, that is to say, not only will he not be the main character, but he will be basically tortured. XD

Just to clarify, I've watched five of the movies. That was a mistake on my part. XD I actually stopped watching Pokemon because they stopped broadcasting it in Malaysia halfway through the Johto arc. I didn't bother to download it because by the time I got Internet, there were already hundreds of episodes to be downloaded. I couldn't force myself to download them all.

That's because the real Ash is in a coma, and the whole adventure is an unconscious dream that explores his mind.
My head asplode... XD I remember that thread. Good times. XD

I also remember the bold topic that spawned from it. XD

  • God, I stopped watching the anime a while ago. I don't even think I saw all of Johto.

I might download it someday, but I'm not sure if I really have the intention to; as said, it did get bad at some bits.

I think one factor of the anime's issues was down to the lack of a consistant storyline. Ash's quest was to be the geatest trainer of all time, but I don't think they invisioned it becoming as boring as it has. I mean he just keeps starting over and over, how can that lead him to complete his aspirations? I know it's a kids show and it's not meant to be too serious but in any case, this is why I rather the manga or reading fics as (depending on the author) they're based on the story and are better structure. I stopped watching the anime years ago due to the flaws x]
