    ==========PLOT;;
    You are both connected...
    Make decisions carefully...
For each decision...shall impact the rest.
Survive. That's all you have to do...
    Survive.

This was the note left pinned to the chests of many individuals who were left unconcious in a circle. In the middle of the circle were many Pokeballs, each containing a Pokemon...

    ==========SYNOPSIS;;
You awaken in a circle of many people. In the middle of the circle are many Pokeballs. You don't know what's in them. You don't even know where you are. You just know it's a dark room where the only thing you can see are Pokeballs and people, which are illuminated by a single light from above. The only other thing you know is what is told to you on the note: you have to survive.

    ==========RULES;;
    • No godmodding
    • Follow all basic PC rules
    • No bunnying
    • Grammar is a must. iF u sPe@k lyK dIS, I won't accept you.
    • 6-line minimum.
    • Pay attention to the top of my posts. Seriously. They contain valuable information.
    • Follow the rules of The Game. Failure to follow the rules of The Game will result in your ejection from The Game.
    • I will choose to accept the Pokemon you have chosen.
    • No legendaries
    • Fossils are accepted
    • Only two trainers may have a shiny Pokemon. I will decide who.
    • I will change / edit the rules as I see fit.
    • I will boot any player as I see fit if they do not follow the rules.
    • Have fun!
    ==========SIGN-UPS;;
Signing up is a simple process. Just fill this baby out:

    Name: What is your name?
    Age: 13+ please.
Gender: I don't want machines in my RP. :P
Appearance: Links accepted. If doing a description, a very detailed paragraph will do.
Personality: Make your characters unique. I don't want Plain Janes and Simple Stus here. No Ash Ketchums either... A paragraph, and a detailed one at that, will suffice.
History: Your life before you awoke in The Game. Two paragraphs minimum.
Your Pokemon: There are many Pokeballs. You pick one up. A Pokemon pops out. What is it?
Extras: Anything else I need to know?

    ==========EXTRA STUFF;;
I will participate as a character known only as The Director. My job is to ensure that you do not survive, yet, at the same time, make sure each and every one of you make it to the end. This means that each of you have to pay attention to each of my posts. They contain information in regards to attaining victory.

Also, like the note says, each decision you make impacts the others. How does this come into play? At the top of my posts will be a choice of options. For example, if I post:

Take either the left or right path. The left path leads to a dark forest while the right path leads to a bustling city. Whichever path you take shall be closed off from the others.

That means the first person to make a post following that post makes the decision which impacts the others. If they take the left path, all other members of the RP MUST take the right path. The only exception is if a post is like this:

You and your partner come to an abandoned store. There are four medicine packs. Do you and your partner each take a medicine pack, or do you share one? Be wise with your decision.

This involves communication between you and your partner. Choose a partner wisely; you both are connected...

    Let the games begin...

    ==========EDITS AND UPDATES;;
--29 December: Opened RP up to anyone willing to participate.

I reserve a spot, but I do have a question. How exactly is this going to go? And will we have a chance to capture more Pokemon later on?

    Name: Bobby Baker
    Age: 18
    Gender: Male
Appearance: Bobby is 5ft 6in and has a lean wryry frame. His curly brown hair falls into his chocolate brown eyes on occasion. His eyes sparkle with laughter but also show sadness. His face is weather worn but is always wearing a smile. His tanned arms, while thin, have hidden strength. He is also prone to slouching.

He is always seen with a pair of weather worn faded blue jeans with a pair of scuffed up brown hiking boots. He wears a black hoodie with the sleeves cut off. For each hand he has a pair of rough brown leather gloves with finger holes and to top it all off, Bobby has a pair of goggles that usually hang around his neck. These goggles allow him to see heat signatures, allow him to have x-ray vision, and let him see through bad weather.

Personality: Bobby is a happy go lucky guy, believing that whatever happens in life happens. He is always looking towards the bright side of everything and is always looking for a joke in everything. He sometimes takes things to far however and ends up hurting the feelings of those around him. However he makes up for it by being kind to everyone he meets.

However he is also very lazy to a fault. It takes a lot to motivate him to really do anything. However when he is motivated, look out! This is not to say he is also devoid of sadness. Bobby sometimes takes playful insults to heart and dwells on them. He trusts a little too easily sometimes which can hurt him in the long run.

History: Bobby was the oldest of three kids by eight years and with his parents gone most of the time, Bobby was constantly in charge. He always dreamed of one day setting out and getting his own Pokemon Partner, but sadly because he was the unofficial caretaker of his brother and sister he was unable to fulfill his dream.

Soon Bobby graduated from High School and decided he needed to get a job to support his family as his mother and father had basically deserted him and his siblings. Setting out to get a job at the local super mart, Bobby had high hopes for that day. But just as he was about to enter the grocery store, he was knocked out.
    Your Pokemon: Totodile
Extras: Bobby has a fear of deep water, bees, and spiders.

SU: Chained: A journey for survival.

That...sounds slightly creepy, but fun! :D

    Name: Alice
    Age: 17
    Gender: Female

    Appearance:
    Chained: A Journey for Suvrival

    Personality:
Calm and practical, Alice does not like too much fuss over anything. She gets things done with fast and refuses to toy with people. She's blunt and sometimes her bluntness hurts other people, Alice knows this and regrets it, but knows that the truth, no matter how painful, is better than not knowing something important to you.

Her view of the world is slightly dented, as Alice prefers to stay away from people because she feels un-nerved when there are others around her. She believes she can survive without anybody and has managed so far. Provoking Alice is often a bad idea, even though it's not an easy feat, a furious Alice is enough to scare even the most bravest of Charizard's and the laziest Snorlax's.

    History:
Alice was born in a normal family, with both parents, a grandmother and an elder brother. Her brother, whom was called Xavier, was her parents pride and joy and Alice's role model. He was an amazing trainer, had excellent school grades and was a natural at any and every sport. They had all expected great things of him. Then there was an incident when his best friend died during a lighting storm. After, it seemed that a part of him had died away with his friend. Alice kept her mouth closed and offered silent support, her parents however, kept telling him he needed to move on and continue, that his foolish mood would only spoil his future.

One day, it seemed he'd had enough. He just got up and left. Alice never knew what his letter to her parents had said but after that, she finally felt what he'd been through. Her parents began to pile their dreams for her brother onto her. When before they'd never even spare a glance at her grades, now they scrutinized them with a fury she hadn't known. She was given high expectations and had to spend most of her time indoors studying. They compared her to her brother every time her scores were too low for their liking and even if they hid it, she could sense their disappointment.

Alice taught herself how to read people's emotions, everyone around her felt pity and sympathy for her. She didn't want or like that. She wanted a friend, someone she could trust. Alice began to understand why her brother had been so heartbroken when his best friend had died. There wouldn't be anyone else to hold onto his sanity. She didn't have anyone, but then, her parents gave her a Pokemon of her own. A Piplup. Not capable of understanding the human language and species difference aside, her Piplup, named Empress, after she read that most female Prinplups never evolved further into Empoleons, became her holdline. She trained with it, tried to understand what it wanted, befriended it, and trusted it with her life. On her 14th birthday, it evolved into Prinplup.

When she turned 16, her parents began to think she had no skills as a trainer because her Prinplup still hadn't evolved into a Empoleon. Of course, they didn't know that very few Females ever evolved. So, after a year of debating, they took her Prinplup off her and sent her away to a private school far, far away. Alice didn't ever see Empress again.

    Your Pokemon: Absol

    Extras:
    Nope.

    Name: Sunalli
    Age: 13
    Gender: Female
    Appearance:
    Chained: A Journey for Suvrival
    (sorry so small)

Personality: Sunalli is a generally caring person, but if you've gotten on her bad side too many times she can be rather rude. Though she is actually fairly smart, she is too stubborn to always use logic to her advantage. This often causes troubles for her, unfortunately. She gets a long with people okay, but can be quiet around new people she has only met for a short amount of time. She finds loud, obnoxious, and always happy people very annoying.

She has always been a huge fan of battling Pokémon and has developed her own sort of style of battling. Even since she was a young child, she's used ghost type Pokémon and has held a special place for them in her heart. She has a pet peeve about people who think all ghost type Pokémon are evil, horrible creatures. If someone says anything like that around her... Well, you better be prepared.

History: Sunalli was the oldest child in her family, only having a younger brother at the age of 10 whose name was Chris. Her mother had died during the birth of her brother, when Sunalli was three. Their father blamed her death on Chris, always treating him harshly and unfairly. Sunalli knew it was not his fault, and cared for her brother very much.

She always trained with her little brother who loved ghost types just as much as she did. Sunalli was not allowed to start her Pokémon quest when she was 10 and her brother wasn't suppose to either. Knowing how much it had hurt her she decided to help Chris get his journey started secretly from their father. They both left in the middle of night, when their father was fast asleep, and Sunalli walked him to the forest. After a heart felt good bye they parted ways.

On her way back home she heard a twig snap. She turned to see what it was and suddenly everything went black...

    Your Pokemon: Banette

Extras: Sunalli isn't easily scared, having been around Ghost types so much.

    Answering questions time:

@Luigi-a: This RP will actually flow very smoothly. Just be creative in trying to get through the objective. It will make sense when we actually start.
@Pikapip: SU in first-person? SU need to be in third-person, but I don't mind if you make your posts in the first person. Then again, that's entirely your perogative.

All those who have posted SUs are ACCEPTED. Good job, guys. As for those who have reserved, make them quickly...-__-...or else The Director shall wreak havoc and vengeance.

Come on can't you do seven Pokeballs?^^ I'd like to take part in this too, as the plot sounds interesting. Maybe I'm just a random NC throughout the story or something.

Come on can't you do seven Pokeballs?^^ I'd like to take part in this too, as the plot sounds interesting. Maybe I'm just a random NC throughout the story or something.

I was actually considering that, given that there's so much potential (ie, Players who have been playing The Game for years, etc.), but I'll have to think about it. I need to see where everyone else is headed with it, then I'll make that decision. Don't give your hopes up, though.

Oh, and just in case you guys want an insight into who The Director is, here's his character sheet:

Name: Unknown, but goes by the alias "The Director"
Age: Not clarified, but his age could be anywhere between 17 and 30, given his young appearance. But it is known that he is a high school graduate, so a logical explanation of age might place him in his twenties.
    Gender: Male
    Appearance:
    Chained: A Journey for Suvrival

Personality: For those who know The Director, they know that he is a cynical person, not willing to place in trust in many. He trusts very few and of those he does trust, he doesn't really give them valuable information pertaining to himself. He likes to be very secretive and quiet, preferring to seclude himself from anyone else so that he may concentrate on other matters at hand. This attitude of his has given him a very bleak outlook on life, even going as far as having The Director referring to life as nothing but a "simple game" and people as nothing but "mindless players." He has acute depression, but that is remedied by plunging himself into reading and writing. However, he is mentally unstable and is prone to mood swings and outbursts of anger. He puts on a rather joyous and rambunctious demeanor despite his true nature.
History: Born and raised in a small town somewhere in Georgia, The Director wasn't the bleak man he is today. In his youth, he was a bright joyous kid, willing and ready to take on the world. He was friends with everyone around him and was constantly smiling, even if those around him were down and gloomy. One day, for his tenth birthday, he received an all-red Pokeball. Inside of it was an Abra with a scar over its right eye. The Director named him Essence and stated that the two would remain together forever. From then on, The Director took Essence with him wherever he went.

Eventually, Essence and The Director grew a close bond with each other. Essence eventually evolved into a Kadabra and began to prove worthy in Pokemon battles. The Director entered minor tournaments in his home state and earned a reputation as a battler, opponents taking note of his skill in execution of moves, earning him the nickname of "The Director". This was a big deal for him, since he was only fourteen when he won the state championship.

Believing he was a really great battler, he enrolled in the regional league, hoping to win it all. He and Essence made it to the semifinals where he was the crowd favorite. Unfortunately, his next opponent was a vicious trainer with a partner Garchomp. Knowing the battle wouldn't be easy and believing in Essence, The Director continued forward. He had the upper hand for most of the battle, but then the foe Garchomp unleashed a vicious Giga Impact, driving Essence into the wall, nearly knocking him out. When Essence got up, Garchomp threw him to the ground and began savagely beating him. The referee called to the trainer to tell it to stop, but the trainer ignored, allowing Garchomp to continue beating Essence. Eventually, Garchomp was disqualified and Essence was declared the winner, but grave news was revealed: Essence was beaten within an inch of his life and had to be rushed to a hospital. Withdrawing from the tournament, The Director stayed with Essence for the months it took him to recover, though he did have a Machamp named Impact with him as a substitute and guard for the house that he used for battles while Essence recovered.

At such a young age, The Director realized that people are horrible creatures and developed a cynical view of life, hating humans for the way they treated each other and Pokemon. After he graduated high school, he took Impact and Essence and effectively disappeared. No one has seen him since.
Pokemon: Machamp and (presumed unevolved) Kadabra, but unknown if he has acquired more.
Extras: The Director is an expert battler and a force to be reckoned with on the field. It is also rumored that he may have acquired miniscule psychic capabilities from being around Essence for so long, but this is unconfirmed. He is also an expert fighter and has genius-level intellect. He is a masterful tactician, has profound use of logic, and an expert puzzle- and problem-solver. He also has a soft spot for cookies and Mudkips...

You probably havn't seen me around the forum recently, but I am a very old and experienced roleplayer here. I've been coming here every couple of days looking for a good roleplay to take part in and finally one shows up. I understand that all spots are taken, and you even have another person already wanting a spot, but if so I would love to participate in this RP.

I'm going to go ahead and post my sign up, wheter or not it will be looked at and considered.
    EDIT: Added to the 'extra'.

    Name: Eli Weston Greer

    Age: 46

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Eli is very a healthy-looking, tall man. He stands around six feet, and is at a good weight for a man his age. Eli had reached his full height at age 18, being a slow grower. He has very flush, healthy skin, and looks as if he has spent hours under the sun. He has a few scars from when he was young; from when he had a bad case of the chicken pox, which escalated very quickly to a terrible case of shingles. He wears a beret and fingerless gloves; long blue-jeans and a gray short-sleeved shirt. He also wears bleach-white tennis shoes – which I might add are size 12 – and ankle-high socks. He has long and natural bleach-white hair which is cut above the collar of his shirt, and is slightly over his ears. He doesn't wear any jewelry, except for a small, silver neck-chain. He doesn't work out, and doesn't have much meat on his bones. He wears a formal watch, nothing fancy though. He usually wears contacts, but if you catch him on a bad day he will be wearing wire-rimmed glasses. He has a few freckles here and there across his face. He has a skinny nose, and a normal sized chin with thin lips. His arms are skinny and most would be able to wrap their hand around his wrists. His legs are the same as his arms: skinny and bony. A good word to describe his figure is 'lanky'. Eli wouldn't be caught dead in shorts. He always wears jeans, and is okay with short sleeved shirts. Underneath his shirt he always wears a white undershirt. Over his shirt he usually wears a gray hoodie. If Eli gets invited to a casual party he would probably wear his normal: jeans, short sleeved shirt and undershirt and a gray hoodie. But if the party happens to be a 'Sunday Best' party then he would wear a black or navy blue sports jacket (or suit) accommodated by a usually blue or white button-down shirt with a tie (non-clip on). He would wear khaki or black pants, held up by a usually brown or black belt, respectivley. His choice of shoes would be brown 'penny loafers'. On a chilly winter's day, Eli would be seen in his usual dark blue jeans, but a long sleeved shirt and hoodie. Instead of sparkly white sneakers, Eli would wear brown boots. On cold days Eli would usually have his glasses on, so his contacts won't dry out with the dry and cold wind. If it is especially cold, he would either have a hat on, or the hood of his hoodie.

Personality: Eli is calm whenever things around him are calm. He is a follower if whatever must get done doesn't affect his life, but whenever something comes up and it will affect his life he will take the lead of the project and complete it with his best efforts and intentions. His mood changes as the mood of those around him changes. If it is a rainy day, he will most likely be gloomy, but on a bright day he will be happy and calm. Whenever something sad, devastating, happy, or joyous happens, he usually won't show much emotion. A good way to describe his personality is if the weather is good, he's good, but if the weather is gloomy, he's gloomy. He has a dark side when someone threatens him or tries to hurt him. People learn that despite his laid back person, he can get mad fairly easily. Outwardly to everyone Eli is very calm and shy, but those who really get to know him will see that he can be very open and talkative, quite the opposite of his normal, laid back personality. Eli is loyal to everyone around him and when he is around strangers, he tends to try to be cool and mysteries to make a good impression, but he usually fails.

    History: Family:
    Name- Scarlett Greer
    Age- 51 (at death)
    Relation- Mother

    Name - Thorn Greer
    Age - 43 (at death)
    Relation - Father

    Name - Scarlett Greer
Age - (Died at birth; would be 46)
    Relation - Sister

    Name - Thorn Greer Jr.
    Age - 56
    Relation - Brother (Estranged)

    Name - Mary Iona
    Age - 63
    Relation – Former Caretaker

Past: Ten years to the day before Eli was born, his brother, Thorn Jr. was born. Ten years later Eli and his twin sister Scarlett were born on a rainy, gloomy day; his parents were Scarlett and Thorn, both were great, wealthy Pokemon trainers. Sadly, Scarlett died at birth. Then to make his birth sadder, his dad died less than a week later. Now Scarlett was a single mom of two boys: the newborn Eli and Thorn Jr., age 10. Then, when Eli was eight and his brother was 18, their mother died. After the deaths of his parents Thorn became estranged from his only family member left, Eli. He left Eli in the care of Mary Iona, a boring, old caretaker. Luckily for Eli it was only two years before he left on his Pokemon journey. But when Eli finally turned ten, Iona wouldn't let him leave. After a one year wait, Eli was able to leave, but with no Pokemon. On a search to find his brother, he ended up in New Bark Town, where there was a Professor, who had a computer. He looked up his brother's name, Thorn Rey Rose Jr. he found out that his brother was the owner of the biggest money-making company and was better known now as Mr. Rose; Eli then knew that his brother would never let him live with him. He was a big shot now, not caring about his orphaned brother. That is when Eli knew that he finally needed to go on his own Pokemon journey. Eli chose a Ralts as a starter, and went on a Pokemon journey, like the ones that he only dreamed of. He gained every Johto, Kanto, Sinnoh, Hoenn, and then Orange Island badge. Soon, Eli became burnt out and started living in Rusturbo City, Hoenn and worked as a geography teacher. Once he realized that he really was a great battler he looked into getting his own gym and finally found a fighting gym open in Cinawood, Johto. The previous owner, Chuck, was retiring and the city was looking for a new gym leader. Eli left everything behind and traveled to Cinawood, where he worked as a fighting gym leader for years. Soon, he grew tired of fighting Pokemon, as they wore him out, and he established his own psychic gym in Lavender Town. Once again, he became a great gym trainer, when one day he got a mysterious letter. The rest of his history is fuzzy from there, and now he is found in a dark room, with (6, 7, or 8) other people, ready to play The Game.

    Your Pokemon: Drifloon

Extras: Eli is an amazing musician, being able to play multiple instruments and having the ability of 'perfect pitch' which gives him the ability to be unaffected by any Pokemon's moves causing people to become confused or asleep. Occasionally, Eli is able to bond so well with his Pokemon that they too get this ability, especially with psychic and ghost Pokemon. Eli also has bipolar disorder, requiring him to take medicine three times a day. He only carries enough medicine for four days with him, so being in The Game for too long could cause him to possibly go into severe periods of manias (highs) or depressions (lows), should he be stimulated.

    Name: Raydin Sear

    Gender: Male

    Age:16

Description: Raydin is about five foot ten and very thin. He has Blond hair with streaks from his favorite red dye. It's parted directly down the middle so his vision is clear. He has long arms and legs. His skin is fairly white, due to him not going outside very much. He has a scar going down his right cheek from a spearow attack. He has Hazel/green eyes that seem to shift color depending on what he wears.

His normal outfit consists of Black jeans or kakhi shorts, and a plain Tee in assorted colors. He has a stainless steel bracelet that he wears around his wrist 24/7. He also has a small black stud earring in his right ear that has a pokeball design etched into it. He likes to wear black converses, and he has a habit of getting them and the rest of his outfit 'worn down' within days of them being received. He also shaves every day, keeping any and all facial hair away.

Personality: Raydin is a calm person with a warm personality. He smiles quite a bit, and when he does get angry, it's for something big. He sticks with his family and friends, and is willing to stick up for them until the end. He loves pokemon and he is glad that he will finally get his chance to have one now that Oak will be giving him one. Raydin hate evil people, even though he doesn't have much experience with them.

Raydin loves to read and play videogames, having pulled all-nighters just to play an Epic game or to finish a really good Novel. His all-time favorites include the cirque du freak books and Fable II. He also loves to draw, even if he isn't good at it. In fact, he tried to draw a mudkip once, but it ended up looking like a ditto. He loves to eat Chinese food and his favorite desert is a cold vanilla shake with whipped cream a cherry, and a little bit of ground cinnamon on the top.

History: Raydin was born in Jubilife city as a smiling baby. He had two brothers and three sisters. When he turned three, his family moved to pewter city in the Kanto region. His family became a friend of Brock's, even though it was distant. Raydin grew used to visiting the gym every day, just to watch the pokemon battles. At the age of 5, Raydin was enrolled in a pokemon academy nearby. He was friendly and he made friends quickly. Raydin and a girl named April became best friends, inside and outside of school. When Raydin turned 7, April gave him some sad news. In a few weeks she would be moving. Raydin took the news sadly, but he promised he would write her constantly.

When Raydin turned 13, his older brother Thomas left on his pokemon center in order to follow in the footsteps of Gabriella and Shella, his older sisters, leaving Raydin alone at home with Shiela and Tim. Raydin continued to study, eager to join his older Siblings on their journeys. Then at the age of 15, Shiela left to become a coordinator. Raydin wondered for two long years if he would ever get to go on his adventure. But the time didn't come when he thought it would. In fact, it never came. His parents were attacked by wild pokemon, just weeks before he would receive his pokemon. The creatures were forbidden in his household, and his parents informed professor Oak of this.

Raydin became overcome with anger, and he bought a pokeball from the pokemart. He took it into a secluded area and decided he would catch his first pokemon by himself. He felt a blow to his head and everything faded away...

So, If you decide to extend the boundaries, please let me know. I would LOVE to join this. No wonder the spots were taken that quickly :D ^^

(PS: I usually dont tell people this, but I always choose my pokemon via a random pokemon generator. Goes pretty good with the plot, eh?)

Okay. Apparently, I made a kickass RP that a lot of people want to join, so I'm opening the RP up to anyone. Yup. For those who have made their SUs, you're accepted. If you reserved a spot, please post your SU quickly so the story can begin. Otherwise, I shall begin without you and your character shall suffer the consequences. Also, I'll be making an OOC Thread so that I can keep outlining the plot and the story thus far. It'll also be a hang-out for us, so yea.

Again, the RP is open to anyone.

@pikapip: Fix your grammar. They're minor occurances, but I stress grammar in my RPs. Your SU shows a baseline and if I see improvement from that, I won't hassle for it again.

    Name: Will Sydney

    Age: 17

    Gender: Male

    Appearance:
    Chained: A Journey for Suvrival

Personality: Will is quite simply a sociopath and a narcisist. He lives and breathes for himself, and himself alone, with one exception: He has an fondness for dark type pokemon, they are the only creatures other than himself that he could ever care for in the least.

He over thinks every situation, wishing every descision to have no negative bearing. He is exceptionally intelligent, but that contributes to his overflowing font of arrogance. Everyone he meets is simply a tool to him, a rung on the ladder to his goals. He refuses to treat anyone with respect, uless it is necisary to achieve his goals, and even then, it's reluctant.

History: Will was brought up in a wealthy family. He was born in pacifidlog town in the Hoenn region though. He only briefly knew his mother, because his father promptly whisked him off the town of rafts to Rustborough where his father had built up a buisness. He grew up in the city, attending every prepatory school it had to offer. When he was sixteen, he left the prep schools, in search of greener (more likely blacker) pastures.

When he started out as a trainer, he did exceptionally well, earning his eight badges in under four months; though, when he got to Evergrande City, he was defeated only after the first round.

It was in Evergrande City, though, that he would meet his true potential. He had met a man named Thomas there who saw potential in him, but also saw his style hardly matched his pokemon. Thomas gave him a baby sneasel, believing he was better suited for dark type pokemon.

Not long after that, Will went out once again, determined to win the tournement next year. Thats when this happened.

Your Pokemon: Sneasel, Weavile, or Absol. Whichever you think would make most sense.

    Extras: Not really.

    Name: Cecil Fluorspar
    Age: 21
    Gender: Male
Appearance: Cecil's gaze is a little unsettling. Possessing a pair of aquamarine orbs as lusterless as graphite at times, when his mind shifts out of focus on the current events you can expect the rest of him to do the same as well. His expression is, though pleasant, somewhat mind-boggling sometimes. Cecil's golden-brown hair is combed neatly, encircling his head in a fairly loose manner. He dons academic regalia with the colours of grey and white accompanied by a black beret, completely silken, as well as well-polished leather shoes, a dark brown in colour, laces a slightly darker shade.

Personality: Appearing to be a little narcissistic at first and a little arrogant all of the time (which is in no part helped by his academic prowess) Cecil maintains a demure smile, whether others are observing him or otherwise. Interpretations of it have been known to vary: a few have claimed that it signifies amusement, others believe that it represents wistfulness of the soul, and still others think it means that he has a superiority complex. All three are true to varying degrees, and to say that one was true would be unfaithful to Cecil's other, equally unique characteristics. His mind is analytical, critical, and though he succeeds at constantly preserving a neutral, unassuming aura almost all of the time using a calm demeanor and an air of grace and politeness, subtle changes in his visage and tone of voice followed by ironic remarks interplay still between his lips. He makes it a point to always know what he is doing, and this is backed by the nearly encyclopedic amount of sheer information he carries in his head.

Cecil's analysis through a crystalline lens will begin to distort when he begins forming relationships to others - friendship, camaraderies, even opportunities for heartbreak. His mind is similar to his body in that though it's not easily blown over, it is easily broken into shards, and he is too often emotionally invested in things to an extreme. His anger, his passion, and his sorrow are amplified if he begins to experience clinical depression.

    History:
Cecil's family is, if not relatively well-known, at least learned scholars in the fields of the sciences. Robert Fluorspar, a well-built, sturdy man of age 46 with a somewhat grizzled appearance, is an archaeologist, quite skilled in the area of fossil excavation and identification. Cecil's stepmother, Sophia Fluorspar, eight years younger than her husband, is a biologist and researching geneticist, although she gives lectures on occasion. Cecil's birth mother was named Anne, and she was twenty-two when Cecil was born. She was not a scholar- a professional scholar, merely a librarian in one of the larger libraries in the city the Fluorspar family lived in.

Cecil was a little neglected in his infant years, a child being often taken to the library and being sat down in the kids' area, watching movies and such on the small television set they had there or playing with toys. He was most interested in reading, though, as soon as he was taught how somewhere around when he became three years of age. His earlier years in the kindergarten, as it is for almost every child, sped by in a blur so much that he cannot recall even more than just a few details about those years. He never needed to work a lot during his primary and even secondary school years; the sheer amount of books, both fiction and non-fiction alike, and later even sections of references and dictionaries that he read each day was usually enough to keep him informed about the subjects he was studying in school and file them securely at the back of his head, and lectures in class covered the remembering part. His life was a homogeneous one, one of a normal child and then teenager, though he did not entirely favour listening to music or shopping, say, over working on yet another of his personal writing projects. His mind was formed during those years – authority figures were usually friendly to him, his school had only students with conduct of higher calibres, and life generally proceeded as life did. He even had plans for growing up, becoming a historian or professor in a university of some sort. A writer was also possible. Yes, a writer.

Unfortunate events do happen in anyone's life, though. It just happened later than anticipated. And it struck with maximum force.

He was sixteen. He was going grocery shopping with his mother – a ritual, though unconventional, that they had between them, aside from the quite obvious library visits. A ritual they had preserved for as long as he could remember.

He had been careless, rushing across the street a little too recklessly, and she followed closely behind him. A large van drove into his path. He saw the face of the middle-aged driver, terrified because he thought he was going to crash into someone when he just wanted to take the small pause between the red and green lights to hurriedly cross.

He had sensed the shadow of death pass across himself, and his mother pushed him out of his way. Needless to say, this traumatic event passed into his mental state like a spear, fracturing the fragile walls of his mind to set it up for a later demolition. He could not cope with the event and after developing clinical depression, had to take antidepressant medicine. And this is the state in which you find him today; still trying to grapple with the shadows in his mind, looking for something solid on which to focus on. His father saw his need for a mother figure to care for him, and remarried, this time a friend of his, a researcher of genetics of ancient Pokemon. However, though there is no doubt that his stepmother is a very gentle person, he still has not fully recovered from it yet, though he appears to be on the surface. He entered university, taking majors in English and philosophy, and this is the state that he is in, during his second or third year of university, when he awakes to find himself chained. He might not particularly care for his survival too much, but he does find this enough of a distraction from more depressing thoughts.

    Pokemon: Skarmory.

    Extras:
Nothing much to say here. Except that Cecil has clinical depression, triggered by psychological and social factors, and is firmly on antidepressant medicine. I'm quite surprised, actually, at someone else in the RP taking medicine as well. This character concept was developed in November or something during NaNo. Also there are a lot, and what I mean by a lot is quite a few references to things. See if you can find them all!
