Do you have bad police where you live?

I swear most of the cops here are crooked. Right now a policewoman is in court facing criminal charges.

I notice that police are always around to cite you for something petty but they're never around when someone is killed or robbed or raped. Maybe if they'd focus on the real crime there would be less of it.

No, our community policeman is very attractive. I totally flirt with him sometimes. I say stuff like, "If I ring you in the middle of the night, will you come and keep me safe?" and he's like, "Well, I don't work at night, but I'm sure we could send someone out".

yes and no there are some police that want to help and some that can't be bothered, i've experienced this where they say 'we'll go and talk to them' and it doesn't actually happen

I think law enforcement are corrupt all around the world. I'm not saying the majority of policemen are corrupt, I'm saying corruption exsists in even the safest communities.

I actually know a policeman who got arrested for drink driving, he was a friend of my dad's. He lost his job and his driving lisence. Just because you enforce the law dosn't mean you follow it yourself.

not in the sense that they are corrupt, but there are definitely some inept officers around my area. I'm lucky, i live right next to my school, but that also means i have all the jerks that hang around the school for ages. Yesterday, a few from year 10 were fighting, like really badly, the were throwing eachother into shop windows (luckily nothing was broken), and what was the officer doing? Getting details off a speeding motorist a little down the road! The other ones that stay around the school for a while were busy outside the school having a chat.

We have fairly good police.

The police station built a skatepark right behind the station. So I guess that's good.

Well, the fact it takes them around 4 hours tog et to your house, They suck.

All the police here are racist, according to my friends. I haven't lived here long enough to find that out myself, which I probably wont actually find out for myself because I am white.. That's about it..?

The cops on campus are actually very polite and helpful.

But back home (where my parents still live) one of the neighboring towns' police department is having a litany of problems, including guys as high up as police chief accused of corruption and witness and evidence tampering and obstruction of justice.

Not that I know of. I never hear anything bad about the police in my town. The police in the town I go to school to always get a bad rap though. I have a feeling it might just be because they catch all the kids in town at parties and such.

I live in a pretty safe community, which is why most of the police are jerks. They've got nothing to do, so they respond to the most petty stuff and jump all over the smallest mistakes. I'm a big fan of police officers doing their job, but they don't need to be such jerks.

I've heard stories about my town's police falsely accusing people they don't like of things like drunk driving. I don't think they're all bad, but positions of authority attract certain types who like to abuse their power so I stay away from the police whenever possible.

I don't know, I've never spoken to one as I don't break the law, I just see them ocassionally sitting in their car by the road watching for people speeding and think that they should have something better to do.
My cousin (once removed) was a copper though, he didn't abide by the law, lol.

They're horrible here. Pocketing a lot of confiscated drugs, reckless driving on the way to a fast food joint, buying alcohol for minors while off duty... yeah, they're pretty bad.

They're all on a power trip, and are good at making up good lies to meet their speeding ticket quota. I hate them.

It really depends on who the officers are and who hangs around him or her. One of the cops in this county are actually a family friend of ours. He was even babysitting my baby sister the other day. Yeah, he's a good guy at heart. However, there are some police out there that are corrupted. Power attracts bad people, whether or not they show it.

Around here, I hardly see, cops, to be honest. But there is hardly any crime here, so that makes up. :P

The few that I see are very kind. One helped me find my way to my friends house, cause I was lost. :( xD
