wow a tasmanian devil looks like my vision of the fire dog starter first stage now add some flames to the sides of it's legs and you get what i imagine the fire starter to look. oh and make it more dog like.

You know what, that would be awesome. But you know Game Freak & definitely Nintendo don't really listen to what their fans want most of the time. I think they should have questioned people on what they wanted the next gen starters to be. Like they wouldn't give you the full details or picture of it but would provide a few pictures of say real animals and see which one people liked more and based the starters off of that.

I wish they did that would be a good marketing strategy actually, asking their fans what they would want to see in the next games. The water starter now, should be a fluffy polar bear... i've just noticed we have yet to have a mammal starter, we have a two reptiles (Squitle, totodile), a fish (mudkip) and a bird (Piplup) so maybe a mammal water starter is next.

I hope to see an Opossum, Zebra, Polar Bear, Flying Squirrel (Pachirisu evo?), Peacock, Groundhog, Quail, Ostrich (Dodrio is similar, but is a dodo bird. idk.), Flamingo, and Hornet Pokemon.

Well, it's pretty obvious that they will make a Gen 3 remake. It will more than likely be in gen 5 but won't come till after the third game for black & white. Though they could do something new and like combine Gen 3 remake with gen 5's 3rd game. Like start you off in Hoenn and you go to the new region, or vice versa. Really...they will have to thikn of something for a Hoenn remake. They could take you to Sinnoh but then that would hamper their plans for a possible D/P/Pt remake some years down the road. I really just think I'll sit back, enjoy black & white and worry about that later.



We seriously are lacking fire type pokemon. That is the only thing that upset me about Gen four. If Nintendo says the next gen will be revolutionizing then I think they should add more fire types into it. Not like a bunch, but maybe at most 4 or 5 good fire types to choose from with some of them having as many as 3 evos...who am I kiddin' that probably won't happen. Fire pokemon are pretty strong so I can understand why they don't give you many, but at the sametime it's frustrating when you want a fire type and there aren't that many to choose from.

Chimchar is probably tied for cutest fire starter w/ Cyndaquil but yeah Infernape is pretty weak compared to the other fire types.

Yes yes yes and yes. Have to agree with pretty much everything you said there, especially about the 3rd gen remakes being inorporated into Gen. 5.

Not sure about that method but I can't fathom why they haven't done this yet. Heck have a "Design Your Own Pokemon Contest!!" They make 100+ every generation why not have one created and voted upon by fans!?

All those sound mighty awesome!! =D Just add Panda Bear and Armadillo (besides Sandshrew if it counts as one...). :)


My friend and I are hoping for Salamander (Water?), Panda Bear (Grass/Fighting?) and Armadillo (Fire/Ground or Electric?) starters. Awesome?

Peacock (psychic, &fire??? sounds like a fit for a peacock IMO)

another Whale (water, or ice type)

I don't know how much of you actuarly read the text in the pokemon games but if you notice what the team rocket grunt says in hg/ss after you beat him and he tells you where the machine part is "i will go back to my own country and make my own team rocket" he never said excactly that because he was mixing up the words because he was from a different reigon... but he did say that...! I have a feeling team rocket is going to return in these new games! Its a new "country" after all :D

no but they may be revealed 2morrow on pokemon sunday. though im pretty sure they're going to be just silhouettes. corocoro scans should be coming out pretty soon too.
also the polar bear water starter is a good idea. water starters should be able to move around out of water so it works.

It's time to see if any of our speculation comes true! crosses fingers for a Fire dog,Water polar bear, grass peacock. Well 6 hours and 10 min as the show starts at 4 pacific time. to go from this edit...
I'm also hopeing that the fire starter is really black , so far they have all been orange with the exception of cyndaquil... and only Charmeleon is the only real red evolution of a starter...

i think this gen should have a stay at home dad this time around- or at least have the mom doing something- like Norman was a gym leader- the mom usually just sits at home saying the same thing all the time- needs to change :/

i've been thinking, what if the mom is the champion and your dad i the provider for the new method of transportation like he's a truck driver and often appears where you are and takes you his son/daughter around the city then he has to do something and leaves you as you exit the city...
