Hello. Anyone here played God of war 3. If so what is your idea on Hades. Is he hard to beat. To me he is. It took me an hour last night just to beat him. I'm not going to spoil it. Please don't spoil the game. How long does it takes you?

Anyone know the pros and cons of the first model PS3 vs. the 2nd? I know the 1st one is backwards compatible and the 2nd can play Blu Ray discs (which I could care less for since I don't care too much for movies). My mom got mad at me for asking for a PS3 for my birthday, so I guess I could just sell my PS2 to get some money for it and use my birthday money to buy one. However, I would still want to play my PS2 games, so I'd want the 1st model. But are there other major differences? Other than the first one being very bulky compared to the second.

I could make a wall of text about the differences between the two, but most of them really aren't significant. I'll just say this about the Slim; no Linux support, no backwards compatibility, it needs half the power, no fingerprint & dust magnet, and a $24 stand. The rest are negligible differences like no power switch, BraviaSync, and only 2 usb ports instead of 4.

Honestly, both are very good choices. If you have a lot of PS2 games and money to burn, I'd suggest going for the Bulky model but hopefully it won't make that much of a difference. Sly Cooper and God of War are already being upgraded to the PS3 for higher resolution quality and trophy support(among other things), so it wouldn't be unfathomable to assume that other games would get the same treatment.

I'm pretty sure all models of the PS3 can use Blu-ray though.

Since the bulky model is older, am I allowed to assume it's cheaper? I imagine it's not, but I'll still ask.

And actually, I got my PS2 for Christmas last year, but I only wanted it for Kingdom Hearts. Then this year, I realized that I missed a lot of good games for PS3. I'm not willing to give up playing those games in favor of a new console. I like old stuff.

It's actually more expensive, the new copies at least. It's not being produced anymore sadly so it's harder to find them, but people are selling them for acceptable prices. I think I saw a Like New 60GB copy on Amazon selling for ~$300, so you may want to check that out.

I'm thinking of getting one of these but I don't know where I can get one cheap (UK version)

I grew up with Playstation through PS1, PS2 and PSP but I ended up getting a 360 because most of my friends had it.

I now also want a PS3 not only for the games but also for Blu-Ray (I have the TV, but no player).

Where would be the best place to look for good prices? I will not trade any of my consoles in >.>

Are they going to port the Kingdom hearts series to a Ps3 compatible disk?

Because Iam planning on purchasing a Ps3 in the near future and if I cannot play the first 2 of the series I will be very dissapointed.

Has anyone got Battlefield Bad Company 2 who plays regularly? I haven't added any friends with the game yet and it is getting irksome playing in squads with random people, most of whom play for themselves and not the objective...
Especially when I snag me a heli and want some reliable gunners or pilot who don't just jump out over the bases leaving the plane to fall killing me who's left inside or anything like that...

I have Bad Company 2 and play it a fair bit.

Though, where are you from? It seems quite a few people from here are from America, if you are too then the connection may be poor if I were to join your game or vice versa.

    Mine is mooments

I need to buy me a headset cause I hear they are pretty darn useful for BC2, but at the moment, I'm sort of just looking at what my squad is doing and adjusting to help them, or if they tell me to do something I'll do it.
    But yeah, thanks a bunch!

I could recommend you some PS3 exclusives which are always awesome, and cheap these days!

Killzone 2 (First Person Shooter - Stunning raphics)
Resistance 2 (First Person Shooter - Aliens)
Uncharted 2 (Third Person Shooter/Action - Stunning graphics)
    Assassin's Creed II
Borderlands (First PErson Shooter/RPG - Comic style graphics)
Red Faction Guerilla ( Smash everything up!)

All the games I've mentioned can be bought between £7-£15. Except maybe Borderlands, that may be £17.95 in some places.

Is this your first time playing a 'next gen' console?

Yeah, I can't believe how much better the graphics are compared to other consoles (I'm writing this using my ps3). XD Thanks for the recommendations I like first person shooting games and you've put some on the list.

I died a couple of times, but it wasn't too bad in the end.

Can I get some thoughts on Metal Gear Solid 4? I have been interested in stealth and stuff recently, and heard it is an amazing game. I've never played any of the other Metal Gear Solid games, so this would be a first, but it looks amazing.

Is it worth buying, and what are the pros and cons of the game? Any other comments are appreciated.

MGS 4 is one of my favorite games ever. It plays brilliantly, it's story is amazing, it's the best looking game graphics-wise I've ever seen, personally..Even better than Killzone 2. The only draw back is that the cutscenes are..extremely long..But they are skippable if you really want to skip them.

If you do get it...Eggs. That is all.
