Do you have trouble falling asleep, or are you someone who conks out when you hit the pillow? If you have trouble getting to sleep, what kinds of things help you to drift into dreamland?

I tend to have trouble falling asleep. I usually turn on the radio and have it play softly for an hour while I drift off.

I tend to have trouble sleeping sometimes; when I do, I just stare into nothingness until I get drowsy.

I don't usually have trouble falling asleep, but I almost always play some instrumentals or something in the background while going to sleep.

I can't fall asleep to anything with lyrics.

Some water right before bed helps. Because the temperature at my house sometimes gets unstable overnight, causing me to sweat like ****ing crazy and wake up at like 4:30 in the morning if I get dehydrated.

And sleeping with my Chihuahuas also does wonders <3

I listen to music every night and blast the air conditioning. Not very environmentally friendly, I know, but I love being in a freezing cold room all wrapped up in a comforter~

In winter I usually smoked a cigarette in midnight, but I stopped doing that. I can sleep without anything, usually. Very rarely, when I'm very stressed and tense, I help myself with medicine.

    Pot helps me sleep.

    It really does.

I tend to get the opposite effect, which is weird. Though once I do fall asleep it does give me some interesting dreams.

I fall asleep easy if I stay up enough, otherwise it's hard to stop thinking about different things. Though the last time I got some teeth pulled, I got some painkillers that made me go to sleep easily, and when I woke up I felt so refreshed. I wish I could just do that normally. >_<

    -empty bladder
-minimal noise, and any noise is low of volume
-thoughts about spinning (like while sleeping on the wheel of Wheel of Fortune)
-resting in bed with eyes open, just looking with eyes half-lidded
-stay up most of the previous day
    -restrict coffee/caffeine consumption
-kill stress somehow at some point before the day ends if stress happens
    -brush teeth
-eat something to sate my stomach for the night

Im a Nocturnal kind of person, so i have difficulty sleeping usually, unless im like completely drained. I usually turn on my I-home dock for my I-pod, and flip on some movie scores, like The Dark Knight or Inception. Its actually pretty soothing.

I find it almost imposable to sleep most of the time. I mean i have been awake for 40+ hours now and i'm not particularly tired.

For one reason or another i tend to just wait until i can sleep and hope i don't have anything planned at that time.

I tend to have lots of trouble falling. Here's what helps me:

Atarax (prescription allergy medication with a potent drowsiness side effect)
Benadryl (OTC allergy medication, not as potent side effect as Atarax)
Being up for 30 hours straight beforehand
Music/TV in the background (comfortable headphones help somewhat)

I pretty much can't force myself to sleep without medication. I just go with my body's flow... if it tells me to sleep at 3 PM, I do it. If it tells me not to sleep at 3 AM, I don't try to fight it.

I have trouble finding my sleep only when I'm having those irregular sleeping routines. Most of the time I can drift off around 10 minutes after I hit my bed. It might be because of all the tiredness, which helps me get some good sleep. The real problem is waking up; I hate leaving my bed early in the morning, after like only 6-7 hours of sleep. >//> But I try getting some sleep during the day, which helps out a little. But later at night, it becomes hard to fall asleep. XD

Many things can help me sleep I can't actually fall asleep with total silence.

I normally watch either ; American Dad, Little Britain, Catherine tate, or even Pokemon.

Music also helps me drift of.

Not an easy sleeper here and not much can get me to sleep. I just sit there in my dark, lonely room with the sound of my younger brother (SNORING!!!) breathing as he sleeps, bored. I try listening to some music with headphones to not wake him up, but it doesn't work so I just sit there bored. As long as I have a drink of Blackcurrent and Apple squash in a bottle beside me, I'll be okay for the heat of a long night.

I usually play alot with my dog before I get in bed, and after that I'm actually tired, or sometimes I'll just hide in my blanket all dark 'cause I really hate anything bright at night coming from my window, and eventually I just go to bed.
