People are really finding them that hard? Sheesh, I never blacked out once until Pinwheel Forest, and that was simply because I couldn't be arsed to go back manually and I was a bit lost XD.
I think so far I've blacked out 4-6 times (I'm at, but haven't entered, the 8th gym). Elesa beat me once with her constant, never-ending stream of Volt Switches, I lost once on route 4 (against the last trainer on the route because of grinding *RAGE*) and... twice, I think against Cowboy Mc Gym Leader (I forget his name). Oh and I lost against Bianca once when she pounced on me on the way to the Pokémon Centre -_-.

I think it's nice that wild pokémon have been boosted up now, it helps with levelling up, especially since the new exp rules were implemented. Also, getting the Lucky Egg so early was a bonus.

I voted for about the same really, but thinking about it, I have done more grinding than I did last Gen. Maybe I just haven't noticed how much the difficulty has gone up? Let's just see how I fare in the League I guess.

Well early on I thought I was fairly tough, but since a bout the second gym I have been sweeping most gyms with one pokemon. Infact I sweep the flying gym with an under leveled zebstrika :\

I voted that it's about the same, because I think it kind of is. There are some aspects of the game that are a bit harder than it's predecessors like the EXP system makes it harder to train Pokemon once they've reached a certain level and the story line takes up more of the game, so it seems you're always battling. But there are also parts of the game that seem easier. I didn't think any of the gym leaders were difficult, for example. It took longer to play through it than previous games, but I wouldn't say it was harder.

I think it is a lot harder than the other pokemon games I've played have been. I always do a solo run with my starter my first play through a new game and I'm having a lot of trouble with it. I'm only at the third gym so I'm hoping it will get a little easier as I go along.

Yes, it is indeed harder, so what? I've got my AR for cheating Rare Candies so that my PKMN will be elevated until it is good enough to whip the trainers' asses, and cheating for TMs. The reason on why I'm doing this is because it's basically impossible for me to progress through the game without these cheats.
For example, when I'm against Elesa, I will make sure that my whole of PKMN are Lv. 25.

One thing harder about B/W is that the Gym Leader/Trainer's PKMN levels seem to be a bit high.

If you blacked out THAT many times, it's simpily because you're weak, not the game itself being hard or easy. (Honestly though, I never had a lose record in ANY PKMN game. I never lose. I never lose against Wi-Fi battles and against any Trainer in any PKMN game. "Losing is not an option." is what Will told me in HG/SS.)

Uhhh, definitely not. This game has been very easy up until this point (just beat the 8th gym, heading the Victory Road now).

@Sarcastic Prince: I find it extremely ironic that you're calling someone weak when you resort to cheating to make it through the game. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

So far, if it's more difficult, I really haven't noticed. Actually earlier today, I even sat there thinking "Man.. this seems easier than I remember DPPt being.. D:". Then again, I'm not super far along in it, so maybe it still has time to get tougher. Guess I'll see. xD

He should give in to cheats if he knows that he would lose a lot of times. I use cheats because I don't have enough to buff up my PKMN or finding TMs. The reason to this is because I still have a lot of things to do in my life.
I have a lot of things to do: to read interesting novels, study science, play other games and watch TV. I use the Rare Candies and TM cheat only if my PKMN are either weak in terms of moves or underlevelled. If not, I won't use cheats.

I found it harder at the beginning of the game :O I wasted so much money on Potions ;.; I think it gradually get easier as I get further in, though.

But yea, definately a notch harder - I'm glad GF did that though :P

I agree - it's hard at the beginning, but then, it starts to get easier.

the placement of healers make this game somewhat easier but you still have to watch what you're doing unless you're using nothing but uber or legendary pokemons. sometimes i wish it was actually difficult. like the gyms are puzzling but none of the battles are challenging

i find the new difficulty fontastic!
the 2nd gym takes me between 2-3tries
but the 4th gym Elesa takes me anywhere between 15-20tries no lie, i just cant surpass her without going all out, im so used to holdin back since Johto, it reminds of the old red version which was rather hard IMO

I only have 5 badges at the moment, but I thought that this game was pretty easy so far. The rival and N fights in particular have been jokes. I think I would've struggled with Lenora, but I got lucky with multi-hit moves and crits. The rest of the gyms were really easy though (especially Clay & Burgh).

I said I was finding the game easy...and I still believe that. The elite four weren't too troubling aside from Shauntal's Jellicent as I didn't have a move strong against it (My Cofagrigus was too slow and risky) and it was very bulky.

The last fight against N wasn't too bad either...

However that all changed when I faced Ghetsis....there was a point when I wondered if I'd ever get past his first pokemon Cofagrigus or if it would slowly toxic all my pokemon to death. Hydreigon was a pain too, so by the time I beat him I had three pokemon left, all with about half HP left.

I thought that was it then but no, he sent out his Eelektross. -_- It knocked out my Reuniclus next although I used the move to completely heal my Darmanitan. By this point Zekrom had fainted too. I used flare blitz against Eelektross and it brought it down to a small bit of health. It then knocked my Darmanitan but luckily it was a move that had recoil damage so it knocked itself out. So I was left with just my Samurott after the battle with about 40-50 HP left.

    Stressing :S
