Truant, it doesnt help, it hinders. Imagine a Slaking without it. It would be soooooo good. I guess thats why it has it. Still, i hate it.

It would definitely be Defeatist, which actually ruined Archeops

  • DEFINITELY Defeatist. Why did they even come up with such a stupid ability for the strongest Fossil Pokemon?

Defeatist. I love my Archeops, but that ability is pathetic. Klutz is beyond annoying, Anticipation is useless, Forewarn I don't even...

  • I don't like Klutz; it's useless on Pokemon with much better abilities (like Golett and Golurk), though Buneary and Lopunny can use it well to an extent.

And I don't like Defeatist either. It's so annoying for Archeops to be severely weakened when its health is half or less.

  • Truant is there on Slaking so it's not so broken, I assume. Anyway, Defeatist, Forewarn, Anticipation...stuff like that. The latter two, I just don't understand why they though those would be a good idea. Defeatist...again, I think it's there just so Archeops isn't broken, but still, it's not defensive enough to even keep all its HP so the ability doesn't start working. Not a big fan of Static either. Even when playing old games from before abilities were introduced, I still try not to use physical attacks on Pikachu and Voltorb lol.

Levitate because anything with it doesn't have any alternate abilities. As much as that makes sense, it's a bit dicontenting.

I actually like Defeatist, Truant and the likes — the point is to keep things that would otherwise be horrifically overpowered, balanced (Archeops to Aerodactyl, Slaking to Snorlax, etc.), and it works for that; although I do think Defeatist perhaps should take effect at a third of total HP instead of half (though there are Sitrus berries to help there anyway). Archen/Archeops can learn Endeavor anyway, y'all should note.

Probably Defeatist. And I don't get it when there's said here that they have that because they'd be too overpowered otherwise. Creators decided to give them that power and then hinder it with an ability because they'd be too powerful, what's the point? They could also just give them normal stats instead of 200 base attack and then such an ability wasn't needed.

Defeatist and Truant. They take away from what can truly become offensive powerhouses :/

  • Actually, I take that back about Traunt. It's fun to Skill Swap it onto your opponent. But when do any of us ever double battle competitively? lol

Maybe because Defeatist makes you think a bit more. You could generally rectify it with a healing berry, but then you wouldn't have full-power Acrobatics. Endeavor becomes worth putting on it, but you might want the move slot for something else... for what it's worth, I at least think it's more interesting than if they simply made a flying Sharpedo.

  • Defeatist is my vote, since I've actually used an Archeops in my old White playthrough, and recall the frustration of constantly feeding it Lemonades just to keep its attack power up. Truant also sounds like it would be annoying, but I wouldn't use the big ugly lummox named Slaking even if it didn't have a sucky ability.

I agree. I remember having a slacking in emerald and it was really really strong but Traunt messed it all up. I wish it could learn Skill Swap -___-

  • Truant, Defeatist, and Klutz are not that good I agree. But I hate when I fight Cynthia and her Spiritomb with Pressure because she always uses Double Team. I also really disliked Effect Spore. Paralyze, Poison, Sleep.

The abilities that absorb attacks like Lightning Rod, Water Absorb, and Flash Fire are annoying on opponents, but very useful on my own Pokemon.

  • Klutz actually has some use. It lets the holder Trick or Switcheroo a Choice item without getting locked, and Toxic Orb or Flame Orb without getting burned/poisoned.

The most useless ability is Slow Start. Actually, it's not that hard to counter, it's just that Regigigas lacks the right moves. Also, Normalize is pretty useless. It's only potential use can be to have a Normal type Thunder Wave on Delcatty so it can paralyze Ground types (but not ghosts). This in turn takes away any kind of type coverage the Pokemon may have.
