Ultimate Red Monocolor Challenge SoulSilver Update #4


-Went through Ice Path to get the next member of the team, Ygritte the Jynx
-After several hours of Voltorb Flip, had enough coins to purchase the TM for Ice Beam to teach to Ygritte
-Trained her up on trainer rematches and then used her and Billy to take down Claire with relative ease
-The Kimono Girls nearly kicked my bum because I was careless
-Killed Lugia because I couldn't be bothered
-Got through Victory Road with no issue
-Trained up a tiny bit in Victory Road and th took on the E4

-Umberto did most of the work on Will with some help from Billy and Ygritte
-Stannis was the MVP for the Koga fight with assists from Pyke and Billy
-I expected Umberto to do most of the work in the Bruno fight, but she got taken out early, so It was more of a team effort with quite a bit of help from Waterfall flinch hax via Pyke
-Umberto, Pyke and Billy took out Karen as a team
-Lance was a mess since we were fairly underleveled, but it got done.

I'm done completed it atleast, I might do a ultimate of blue but for now it's a bye-bye

NOTE: This was a hack of Fire Red, It was quite hard. Some of my Pokemon ended up level 70+ while the strongest Pokemon was level 70. The start was quite easy but after the Sliph Co. event trainers were scripted quite smart and knew to take my team down.
The difficultness is quite fun and I request everyone to play this hack of fire red (yet another fire red hack)
NOTE: Due that I forgot to take screens of some E4 fight ends on certain pictures Pokemon are not the same level because the picture was taken not straight in a row.

So I got angry at my SoulSilver run after my game froze after training without saving for about an hour. So, I did the entire Emerald run!

Pokemon Red Monocolor Challenge Emerald First and Final Update

Name: Red
Starter: Kickpunchr the Torchic

-Blahblahblah Kickpunchr evolved, Roxanne was easy.
-Delivered the Letter in Dewford, then went straight to the route north of Slateport to catch the second member of the team, Loras the Oddish
-Backtracked to grab the Exp Share, then went back and took out Brawly easily with Kickpunchr's Peck
-Loras evolved into Gloom on the same route we caught him on
-Wattson wasn't that bad, I had a few levels on him.
-Got to Meteor Falls and caught the third team member, Dagr the Solrock
-Got Dagr up to the same level-ish as the rest of the team and he went on to completely tank the Flannery fight
-Norman actually came down to the wire, with Slaking taking out Kickpunchr as soon as he came out with a Façade crit.
-Got Surf, got the Good Rod, got the last member of the team, Claudia the Corphish
-Route 119 was the route of evolutions: Claudia evolved into Crawdaunt on a random trainer battle, Kickpunchr evolved into Blaziken in the Weater Institute, and we found a Leaf Stone which we used to evolved Loras into Vileplume
-Dagr single-handedly destroyed Winona
-Dealt with the bad guy stuff, then Dagr took control of the Tate and Liza fight, with everyone else being at his side at some point
-It took a couple of tries from Loras and Claudia to take out Juan, mainly because Kingdra is more trouble than it's worth. Got lucky with an Ice Beam freeze hax.
-Got through Victory Road, grinded everyone to Lv. 50
-Tried the E4, realized I was missing something, went to the Power Plant thing, and used my Master Ball to catch YoungNeil2 the Voltorb!
-Trained up YoungNeil2 on trainer rematches and in Victory Road, during which, of course, he evolved into Electrode
-Then to the E4!

-Kickpunchr ruined most of Sidney's day with +1 Double Kicks, with Claudia stepping in to finish the job
-Claudia walled Phoebe for the most part
-Kickpunchr, Claudia, and YoungNeil2 took out Glacia with little issue
Claudia was the star in the Drake fight
-The Wallace fight was an absolute disaster, mostly because his Milotic is a goshdarned so-and-so. I literally had to item spam until is got down to STRUGGLE. Ugh. The fight got done though

Update on Ultimate Monocolor Challenge (Pink).

Update #3 on Platinum.

• Trained Healer some more, and she finally evolved into Blissey!
• Caught a Yanma with Compoundeyes in the Great Marsh, and used it to steal a Moon Stone from a Clefairy in Mt. Coronet.
• Used the Moon Stone on Fable to evolve her into Clefable!
• Took on Crasher Wake and defeated him with Marcus and Sakura.
• Plot stuff ensued, and I went up to Celestic Town and defeated Cyrus.
• Got Surf, and went to Canalave City, where Healer defeated Byron with Fire Blast.
• Got the Strength HM, then more plot stuff. Defeated Saturn and Mars at the southern lakes.
• Went into Mt. Coronet to the foggy lake, where I caught Nessie the Feebas after a long search.
• Bought some Poffins at the Dept. Store, used them to max Nessie's Beauty, and she then evolved into Milotic!
• Trained Nessie on the surfing routes and Iron Island, which I had skipped before, then headed up to Snowpoint City.
• Defeated Candice pretty easily with Fable and Nessie.
• Went to Veilstone to take on Team Plasma, and defeated Cyrus there.
• Continued to pursue him in Mt. Coronet and the Distortion World, finally beating him once and for all.
• Back in the real world, I went after Mesprit with the help of a Master Ball, and named it Heart.
• Went to Sunyshore City and easily defeated Volkner with Marcus' Earthquake.
• Saved after getting the Waterfall HM.

Ultimate Red Monocolor Challenge SoulSilver Update #5


-Got the Mirror Coat from the guy on the SS Aqua, which means it was finally time to PokeSav evolve Umberto into a Scizor!
-Got the TM for Psychich in Saffron to teach to Ygritte
-Went straight to Celadon, and after a whole lot more hours in the Game Corner (thank goodness I find Voltorb Flip relaxing), I had enough coins to purchase Zed the Porygon (the team member Billy was filling in for) and the TM for Thunderbolt to teach to it. Also taught it Shadow Ball
-Went to Silph Co., picked up the Up-grade, and evolved Zed into Porygon2
-Stannis and Umberto took a trip to Celadon to take care of Erika
-Went down to Fuchsia. Janine turned out to be tougher than expected, with everyone getting some battle time
-Did some training along the east coast, catching up Zed with the rest of the team
-Ended up in Saffron, where Umberto took out Sabrina with no issue
-Went south where Ygritte and Stannis took down Lt. Surge
-Got Ygritte the TM for Grass Knot
-Blahblah Power Plant Blah Misty got rocked by Zed and Ygritte
-Brock turned into an entire team affair since both of my teammates that had super-effective moves against Rock were also weak to Rock
-Of course Blaine's Magmar had to have ThunderPunch, so Stannis and Zed had to help Pyke take him out
-Grinded out a couple E4 runs so I could beat Blue with a bit more dignity
-The fight was still a challenge. Some Revives were thrown around
-Caught Everest the Machop in Rock Tunnel, taught it Rock Climb (which I just got from Oak), got the Magmarizer on Cinnibar and the Dubios Disc way back on Route 42
-With these new items in hand, "evolved" Stannis into a Magmortar and Zed into a Porygon-Z. FINALLY got to teach Stannis Earthquake

I deleted my notes by accident (/facepalm), but what I can say is that it was a bit tougher than usual. Weezing is not cut out for Special sweeping, I can tell you that much. We got through it though. I think at one point during the E4 I had to bring a Milotic down to goshdarn STRUGGLE. That was fun. I also had to beat Brock with a Lv. 16 Rattata.

Just thought I'd make a clarification post here, since quite a few people are playing hacks lately. This has to do with the Ultimate challenge.

In the original rules, I said that only established hacks count towards the Ultimate Challenge. So for example, Shiny Gold, which recreates the Johto region in a Gen III mode.

The new, more inclusive, rule now is going to be this: Any hack that follows the same story will count (such as Blaze Black or Storm Silver). However, you can ONLY USE POKEMON THAT WOULD NORMALLY APPEAR IN THE ORIGINAL MAIN SERIES GAME!!!

So if you are playing on Storm Silver, which is a 493 hack with increased difficulty, but follows the story the same way, you can't be using an Arcanine or Donphan, both which are pretty easy to get in the hack but can't be found in the original SoulSilver game. You can only use Pokemon on your team that are found in a normal SoulSilver game, while following the locations as close as you can.

This new clarification will allow for some of the great 386/493/649 hacks to be included in the Ultimate Challenge while still keeping the spirit of the challenge in place, especially when compared to people who play the main series games.

All hacks are fine to play as stand alones if you want, there are no real restrictions on that.
