I saw someone call this a cash grab, but HGSS was not a cash grab and this game was likely in development at the same time as XY by the team that made HGSS and BW2 since that's how Game Freak operates now.

As I pointed out earlier, they said that with HGSS as well.

They try to tell newer fans that this is a whole new game, there no such thing as a remake!
btw I am old fan not new lol :/

Hate to ruin it, I think these games just have these two as mascots, we are not playing in the Hoenn Region, It says a WHOLE NEW Adventure... it does not say,"A Whole New adventure in the Hoenn Region!"

This is a great thing, and for two reasons - one good and one evil -

Good: I'm going to genuinely enjoy these games. I like Hoenn - both the region and the dex - and I look forward to seeing the region in 3D and using the dex with the new mechanics.

Evil: I'm going to get a lot of enjoyment out of the ineffectual rage of the Hoenn haters, as GF completely ignores their tedious and incessant whining and crying and complaining and puts out the games other people want anyway.

I was 3 or 2, lol. When RS came out, but I found out anyway, and emulated it, but I did play FR on my GBA sp. :D

Hoenn is great. It's not my favourite region and I was never a huge fan of a lot of the designs of the third gen Pokemon but the games themselves were top notch which made up for it.

I seriously hope they bring back the Battle Frontier unchanged, or only slightly changed, since the facilities in RSE were so much better than The Gen 4 Frontier

And Lol at even the possibility of a new region being discussed like are you new to Pokemon or something

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. ORAS. Rearrange the letters and it makes "SORA" which means sky. How appropriate.

-Character customization, so I can get a trainer I like
-Battling both teams
-Larger HoennDex
-The land routes staying epic, but perhaps a more navigable sea route
-XY graphics

I think the emphasis on "New adventure" applies to those who either weren't around to play the original Ruby and Sapphire, or were too young at the time. To them Hoenn is a completely new region and it is 12 years forward from the original release.

Perhaps a new plot point? Mega evolution isn't really possible because XY would have them otherwise.

I'm not really too keen on the names per say, I feel like they sound pretty fan made and don't carry as much of a punch as FRLG and HGSS had. But I don't care that much about the titles

I was only 11 when I played the original Ruby & Sapphire, so it's so amazing to see Hoenn getting remade 11 years after I first played it. Now I'm hoping they can give us an awesome postgame like most remakes have delivered.

'New Adventure' could imply a sequel rather than a direct remake.

In fact, it most likely won't be the same plot I would imagine considering they are gonna have to factor in the inclusion of Mega Evolution and other new features

Nah, I think there's a possibility they might add more mega evolutions to the mix; don't think XY was ever really meant to staple down which ones could do it and which ones couldn't.

The legendaries have been shown to have their patterns glow before so I don't think it's anything special except a cool cover design.

I was 8 when they came out. I played them then and I will play them 10 years later :D

X and Y are not directly compatible with Gen III. To get a Pokemon from Gen III to Gen VI is a pain in the ass. You need to find a Gen IV game and either DS Phat or DS Lite, then Pal Park it. Then, you need to find a second DS (or 3DS) with a Gen V game and Poke Transfer it. Then, you need a 3DS with Pokemon Transporter on it to move it to the Bank, and then finally to X and Y from there.

That's quite a few steps and, at least for Gen III - Gen IV, requires hardware that many people simply don't have anymore (or at least, functioning). Plus, if you're like me, I restart my games a lot and rarely have completed saves. So, if I wanted to do this, I'd have to play through potentially several games just to do the transfers.

And that's just for one Pokemon. Can you imagine if you had a PC-full?

I had a Living Pokedex on my Pearl version, so that already started on Gen IV. To transfer the 490-some Pokemon all the way to Pokemon Bank took several hours.

Not to mention that you have to wait 24 frickin' hours between transfers with PalPark unless you're like me and operate PalPark through 2 Copies of Pokémon diamond, 1 Platinum and 1 Soulsilver (don't ask me why GF thought that 24 hours thing was a good idea). So having a new remake makes things much easier than to transfer stuff, especially since every game since RSE has killed me a bit inside because SEEDOT is only catchable in Ruby and Emerald before post-game.
