Out of anything and everything, what makes you the most afraid the most consistently?

For me it would have to be anything physical with my brain, be it surgical or injuries or what. Earlier today I was (regrettably) on another Wikipedia binge going from one thing to another as I'm sure you can relate, and since the name reminded me of an episode of the Simpsons where Flanders was overlord of the world, I decided to click on lobotomies. You know, I never really knew any specifics about them, I was curious, I've heard some and must complete my knowledge goddamnit... and it made me sick reading about it.

I never realized how much I value my brain and head until I read about things like this. Concussions scare the crap out of me, I want anything but my head to be injured in collisions, I'm terrified of alcohol over a few neurons... and lobotomies just topped all of my phobias. Now, I've yet to take a lighter to my skin to be 100% certain but I think I'd most definitely rather burn to death than live and be disabled like that. It's a true blue fate worse than death for me.

    It all started with a read about psychic abilities. ;_;

I have a very unhealthy fear of spiders. I can't even be in the same house as one if I know it's there until it is killed and flushed down the toilet. I was bitten once as a child and ever since I have been SO scared of even thinking about them in all honesty. I hate the creepy feeling of them crawling on you and everything about them asdfghjkl

My biggest fear is getting ninja'd.

In all seriousness, I'm paranoid about anything that could potentially burn me. I've burned my finger a few years back, and that pretty much traumatized me for life. Heck, even hot metal is enough to scare me. O_o

Well, one of my fears was already realized: Losing my biggest hero. I ended up crying the whole time too. Don't ask. I don't care because all I need are my boys. If PelleK still wants to be my hero, he's going to have to earn my trust. Until then, no more hero this or hero that shit about him. *sigh*

Anyway, since my anxiety is sneaking it's way back... just about everything. My thoughts of losing everything in my life are slowly creeping up again. I was doing fine until he betrayed me. :( Is this karma for relying so much on someone that it hurts? I mean geez... I don't even know what I did wrong. So yeah. Losing everything else in my life is my biggest fear...

On a less serious note: I'm also afraid of the hot stove. Yeah, sounds silly right? Not really. See, my mom told me when I was little that I would play around the hot stove. She always told me not to, and I didn't listen to what she said. Well, I touched the hot stove, and it burned me. I didn't get badly hurt or anything, but it was enough to want me not get involved with trying to cook on it or to touch it if it's really hot.

I have a fear of breaking bones or getting deep cuts. I can't stand the thought of breaking my bones, and I'm really careful with jumping of stuff and such.

Off the top fo my head, the things that scare me most are:

    - Knives and Needles
    - Flying sports balls (namely footballs and baseballs)
    - Bending my leg the wrong way

The second and third I am irrationally terrified of. I rarely allow anyone to touch my leg becuase of the fear that it will bend the wrong way, and I cower whenever I see children playing football in an open area - probably due to me getting hit in the face multiple times with footballs, basketballs and cricket balls when I was younger..

I'm a girl with loads of fear, so here goes...

Crippling disabilities - I already have ASD (that's autism btw, and it's already badly affecting my social skills) so getting badly injured to the point of getting brain injuries, losing use of certain areas of the body or even worse, losing my memory to the "old people" curse that is dementia.

Heat - As in touching hot objects and boiling water. I had a bad memory of burning my finger once on a hot light bulb and then another instance of burning myself in hot water. I often struggle with cooking because I mostly get too scared to take food out of the oven and it makes me always feel like I need to wear those oven mitts just so I don't get burned. Ironically I can stand being in a warm shower but I don't like actually touching hot water.

Death - Obvious. Because I'm always fearing I'll die in such an unimaginable way because of how much I fear the outside world. The ones I really dread are being run over by a car (my mother like scolded at me for sometimes failing to look when crossing), drowning (I'm not a really strong swimmer in deep water), physically murdered or succumbing to a terrible illness.

Heights - I literally freeze in fear if I go up too high, and it's also linked with my fear of flying meaning I'll never be able to go in a plane without puking all over the place. Also, I wouldn't want to be like those daredevils who actually climb on Sydney's famous Harbour Bridge. If I was up there I'd be worried about making a wrong step and plunging to death.

I don't do heights, I'm terrified of losing people I care about and I find things my brain can't comprehend deeply unsettling.

I'm scared of heights, planes, needles, amputation and spiders.

Phobias, though, I have a few. I have anxiety-evoked nightmares the night before exams because I have such a horrible fear of failure. I'm the only one going anywhere in my family right now (and in the foreseeable future). I'm the only one of four kids of my father that has made it to post-secondary. He's so proud, and I can't screw this up. He believes in me after all.

I also don't like to be touched or approached. Social anxiety for ya. "Please don't hurt me" is what goes through my mind when I talk to people :pink_nod:

i've never been a fearful person. but lately i've become different somehow.

a few weeks ago i've suddenly started thinking how terrifying death is. and ever since, other fears have somehow started piling up. i'm also terrified of being left all alone, and of developing a (mental) illness. i'm a medicine student, and i think the exposure to all kinds of diseases has instigated this in part as well. and now i end up being scared that i made the wrong decision in entering med school at all.

on a physical level, drowning or suffocating. Fuck That. but on a mental level, I'm afraid that some people close to me may just be putting on a facade and don't actually care about me or love me etc. I don't have any reason to be nervous about it (so I'm not), but it still kinda wigs me out to think about, which is probably why I don't do so often (but I imagine it's not a nice thought for anybody).

That I could become paralyzed or hurt my head in a way that greatly changes my mental state/in a vegetative state and kept alive.

I could probably list off some minor ones of mine, but nothing

    absolutely nothing

scares me more than the thought of being alone. The thought of being abandoned, and/or of losing all the people that care about me. Which is kind of odd since I'm quite a loner by nature, but it's like...at least I have the option of talking to people if I like? Whereas being totally alone removes that choice and I have no idea what I would do with myself if, god forbid, that were to ever happen.

And then there's the thought of death, but for some reason that doesn't disturb me nearly as much as it used to.

i have too many to list but the one that's really on my mind rn is wasps and hornets. i have seriously irrational fear of wasps. it seems like wherever i go they always follow me and it's just too much. i actually cry when they get close/land on me.
the second is losing my mother, that one scares me the most but i try not to think of it too much. she's the most important person in my life.

It might sound a little cliche, but losing the people I love, which right now isn't many people. I made a stupid mistake not so long ago, and it recently caught up with me, and I thought I was going to lose the one person I honestly love and consider a friend. I was a total mess in school, had to go to the faculty staircase cause I was breaking. But they mean a lot to me, and I don't know what I'd do without them.

My biggest fear would probably be being forgotten.

I like to be remembered, and I want to stand out. Writing a story that stands the test of time would be absolutely amazing. On the other side, having no one attend your funeral is a terrifying thought.

I forgot to mention one more fear have. Talking on the phone. A lot of this is due to my special needs. Like... I can't really explain it. Anyway, if someone has to talk to me on the phone, I'll literally start having a huge panic attack of screaming and crying. I think one reason is because I get frustrated easily. Most of the time it's medical professionals who want to ask you about twenty questions, and it can overwhelm me very greatly. Another reason is because I'm horrible at communicating over the phone as well.

    So yeah. :/

Also, this is me as well:

It might sound a little cliche, but losing the people I love, which right now isn't many people. I get extremely emotionally attached to people. It's a huge habit of mine that I just can't control. That's why when I lost my hero PelleK and a rl friend of mine, I cried about it for almost two days straight. I also did the same thing when I thought my senpai wasn't coming back to my anime convention anymore. My senpai literally means the entire world to me. I'm still not used to the idea of him skipping the convention every now and then due to the band he's in. :(
