Izuku was one of the rare cases where he was born with absolutely no unique powers. This did not stop Izuku from pursuing his dream, a dream of becoming a great hero like the legendary All-Might. To become the great hero he hopelessly wants to become, he now will join the ranks of one of the highest rated "Hero Academies" in the country: Yueiko. With the help of his idol All-Might, will he be able to claim the ranks and become a true hero?

This gunna be gud. It's kinda hard to choose who my favorite character is. The Class President that has Speed powers which is meh to me, but the guy with the Ice/Fire powers is pretty cool.

Love all three girls. Ochako is definitely one of the most adorable characters I've ever seen in any medium. Looking forward to seeing them animated. <3

Its bones though. I have nothing but high hopes for this series. The action will be spectacular and the art already looks amazing from the PV. SUPER HYPED.

She's not the "main" girl (I guess???) but she's prominent enough. She's one of the two most prominent females. First being Ochako (Ayane Sakura) and second being the girl being played by Aoi. She's a frog girl though - I'd love to see how she voices a frog girl. <3

One thing I love about this series is how almost the entire cast is lovable. I LOVE ALL OF THEM. And the villains are ACTUALLY pretty fucking scary and look like they mean business.

I hope that it's not compared to OPM too much, but it's inevitable, since Bones has opted to go with a 13 episode season. I don't doubt it'll be good, but after OPM it might suffer a little bit in terms of fan reception, since it's more like Naruto and Bleach and other long running shounens (though there's only 85 chapters atm and things are so fastly paced).

Hell Deku can beat things up in one punch too but then he damages his body pretty much every time.

I hope that it's not compared to OPM too much, but it's inevitable, since Bones has opted to go with a 13 episode season. Ughh that's really gutting to hear. Definitely would have preferred it to get the 24 episode instead of the 13 :c I mean people have been comparing OPM and BnHA since they were both still just manga, but that doesn't mean that people haven't loved BnHA. Heck the reason I didn't enjoy OPM as much as a lot of people was because I read BnHA right before it aired.
At least this isn't showing the season right after OPM or it will probably would have been worse.

The OP is really great! It'll grow on me.

I just watched the first episode, and it's was extremely faithful. The pacing in MHA is slow at the start, so I guess its a good thing they kept that, but man it speeds up later on.

@zappy: You're exactly right, it could have been worse timing. I think Bones is making a smart move by not fully investing in the series, since while it's (apparently) super popular as a manga that doesnt mean it's going to be as big proportionally as an anime. Though I can see it kicking off. The 13 episodes give a clear picture of where they want to end the first season, which makes sense I guess, but I'd have rather seen it as a continuous series like FMA/FMAB was.

Out of curiosity, which scene are you referring to exactly?

My overall opinion of this ep mirrors yours. I didn't exactly "love" chapter 1 (I dropped the series the first time after reading chapter 1 lol) so this being a slow start was expected. But I like the content better in the animated form. I liked the OST, OP/ED were good and I'm glad that they're not rushing things. Don't quite understand why they'd darken the action in the OP but ehh. Looking forward to EP 2.
