Name of the event: Under construction, but tentatively "4 Pokemon 1 Link" or something

Description of the event, including running times: I post sets of Pokemon that all have one specific thing in common and participants must accurately guess what the similarity is (ex: Masquerain / Tentacruel / Dustox / Mawile, answer: all of these Pokemon are designed in a way that allows them to lure/scare away prey/predators, respectively, or falsify their appearance). This was a popular game on Serebii a few years back (concept credit to user: Charlie Brown who hosted the game in his infancy on the site) and I think I implemented something similar in Survivor a couple of years ago. If not, well, all the more reason to bring it back as its own standalone. I'd like to do this for July 11th (RSE) through July 13th, releasing a new set of ten every day for a total of three sets, but I don't mind doing it for any other generation if there are higher priority events for those days. It might even be easier to do a different generation lol

    Name: The Unova Awards

Description: https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=270567 this. Pretty popular back in the day and the questions would be remade to be applicable to B2W2 as well. Instead of Unova Pokémon of the month it'll be Unova Pokémon of the decade or something. No winner just for fun and to see what the results are (and get people thinking about Unova again). Run time however long you want. It can run for the full three days over the Unova years.

[snip] It can run for the full three days over the Unova years.
Side note, there's no split being planned for region-specific days - so we're not doing it with the first few days being reserved for Kanto events, then Johto events, etc (we may have something running that way, but not necessarily events). So you can run it for as long as you like, or if only for a few days, during any part of the GT.

    Name: The Blog-Off
Description: Essentially users with access to PCs blogging feature are given a theme to which they then create a blog entry on. According to a framework (that I'll probably then dredge up from last year) a small panel then score the entries and place them in order. I haven't totally decided what I'll do yet but I'm thinking of making the theme either "20 years from now" or simply "experiences with Pokemon" to tie into the overall GT theme.

Co-Hosts: Looks like El Heroe and Rowlet will be co-hosts.

Edit: As a side note I might throw some more event ideas in later.

Oh OK. If so, then I'll change the length from the day Unova starts (cuz cooler that way) til the end of the GT (Unova starting day iirc was the 15th).

I'd like to do this for July 11th (RSE) through July 13th

^ What Marcin said, you can host them whenever you'd like, it doesn't have to fit in with that tentative regions schedule :) Jake's removed that part as we decided against staggering the events as much as we did at Christmas.

You could even run it longer to give people two days per challenge.

Name: Pokemon Anniversary Showdown (Might change it to a better name if I can think of one, but I'm pretty satisfied with this.)
Description: A Pokemon battling tournament with a point system like in previous Get-Togethers. Run time will be the entire two weeks. Players earn points for each battle won. Random formats grant less points than formats that require teams. 1v1 formats grant even less. I was thinking of doing a generation theme where players can use ~4 Pokemon from the specified gen to earn extra points. Gen 1 would last 4 days and the rest would last 2 days each. I'll make some gen-specific Random formats too, which will also give players extra points for winning.

Name of the event Pokemon Anime Caption contest.
Description of the event, including running times It's an event where members caption a screenshot from the Pokemon anime. People vote on which caption they find the funniest through either PM or a poll. I feel Pokemon Anime could use an event, and caption contest have seemed to be run in past get-togethers, so hey, why not? Here are two examples.
Other person(s) running the event (you are automatically self-nominated) None yet, but I'd like a volunteer~.

Name of the event: Cards Against PokéCommunity
Description of the event, including running times: It's Cards Against Humanity, what more can I say? The event will probably run for the entire GT.
Other persons running the event: None as of yet, but I'm sure I'll need volunteers because I definitely wont be able to do all the games during the entire GT.

I can probably host a game or two.

Done this a few times before, so, I'll be happy to do it again if able?

    Name of the event: iSketch

Description of the event, including running times: basically, iSketch is like an online version of Pictionary, where you use your mouse/trackpad/tablet/what have you to draw pictures based on the words you're given and have people guess the word. I'll run it with the different times shown in the thread.

For reference, you can see an old thread here:

    https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=351694

Other person(s) running the event: Candy, Macho, and Rabinov (They volunteered! Will go much smoother running the event times.)

Name of the event: The Great Pokémon Exam

Description of the event, including running times: Running during the second week of the GT. Basically a trivia competition testing people's knowledge on general Pokémon things from all different forms of media (mainly focusing on main series games but also including a bit on the anime, manga, spin-off games, etc), from Day 1 until today. I participated in a similar thing on Serebii years ago where a timed platform was used for some added pressure/so people don't have time to cheat, but I need to do some research to see if that's possible. A mixture of multiple choice, T/F and short-answer questions. I reckon hyping it up this way (as more than just Trivia, potentially on a separate platform if I can find one, etc) will give it a sense of novelty to get more people participating. If this isn't clear and you want more of an explanation please let me know 8)

Other person(s) running the event (you are automatically self-nominated): No one yet, but one other person to help to compile questions and answers would be great, if anyone is keen.

I would love to help you out if you want xD.

I'll edit this post for my submission...

    Edit:

Name of the event: Pokémon Treasure hunting event.
    Description of the Event:
A treasure hunt is one of many different types of games with one or more players who try to find hidden objects or places by following a series of clues

So you guys get the picture. We're doing a pokemon treasure hunt across whole forum. Game starts with everyone getting a clue. By solving it they will find next location of clue around any section of forum. Acquiring next clue from mod of that section their search goes on and on. Whoever solves all the clue and reached at treasure box will get a legendary Pokemon item(aka that item emblem).

I think it will be going throughout whole GT. That's all xD.

Other person(s) running the event: People who I'm going to request to give clue if anyone approaches them. xD

Name of the event: Pokémon Anime & Movie Night: 20th Anniversary Rundown!

Description of the event: To celebrate 20 years of Pokémon, relive the top 20 Pokémon anime episodes and movies of all time, as voted for by the community! Will run 3 episodes or 1 movie per day for 7 days (I'd do more, but 7 days was my physical limit last time, ehehe ^^' ). I'd like to organise some kind of vote on the forums, first stage being nominations, second stage being the actual vote.

    Name of Activity: Pokémon Arcade
Description of the event, including running times: Just like the Arcade Event in the past few GTs. A competitive event where participants are given several flash games to play (Pokémon themed this year), and they post a screenshot of their high scores as they obtain them. Will run for the entirety of GT to allow people time to post their scores.

Name of the event: Pokémon Music Masters (Any better suggestions will be put into consideration)

Description of the event, including running times: Players will create music that would fit into a Pokémon game. It could be a remix, or something completely original. It'll take about a week to create the music, and a couple of days to judge.

Other person(s) running the event: Just me right now, but I'd like a couple of unbiased judges to help judge.

Name of the event: Who's That Pokemon?
Description of the event: Based on Meadow's ongoing puzzle in PokeTriv and will run just like the WTP event I hosted during the Winter GT here - every day, a zoomed in section of a Pokemon will be posted, and participants will try to figure out which Pokemon it is, then PM their guesses to me.
Other person(s) running the event: N/A
    Spoiler: Additional details
To follow the theme of this GT, every puzzle will be related in some way to a specific year in the 20 Years of Pokemon timeline (eg. Day 1 will be based on 1996 - this year marks the debut of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan, so the puzzle of the day will be one of the original 151 Pokemon, stuff like that).

Name of the event: Hearthstone Tourney
Description of the event: Participants will be matched up to play 3 games against each other - players who win best 2 out of 3 will move on to the next matchup, and so on until one champion remains.
Other person(s) running the event: N/A
    Spoiler: Additional details
The event will likely run two different types of tournaments simultaneously, and players can join just one or both if they like - one will be a "grand tournament" for more experienced players, where players can use decks with any cards they like (including legendaries, rares, etc.) and a basic decks tournament that limits decks to common and free cards; that way, players who are fairly new to the game or just don't have a large collection of cards can participate without feeling like their chances of winning are lowered simply because they haven't opened many card packs. :)

Edit: forgot to mention running times, but both will likely run for the entirety of the GT!
