Again, I can't see them doing this. One of the 3 factors of creating a mega evolution is balance, so if they are concerned about balance I can't see them giving some pokemon absolutly broken moves, and not giving them to other pokemon.

I'm still not convinced either, but I'm also sure that "balance" wouldn't stop Game Freak from implementing super moves or some such. They did make stuff like Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Rayquaza and Primals after all.

Imagine if it's literally true though and we get moves more powerful than explosion was in the generations where it halved the targets' defense stats. Even moves more powerful than explosion is now would be broken enough. They would need to have some really harsh side effects or really specific conditions under which they can be used.

I can foresee certain stones which can be held in battle and that pokemon gains the move contained in that stone. Maybe you can only have one stone per team. Maybe you can only activate the move once per battle. They could be moves we've already seen or even moves which can't normally be learnt without the stones. I'd like to see some powerful ghost and dark moves at >120 bp.

Words can be really misleading though, especially when they're being translated from another language. This time next year we'll all be laughing at how we all thought coro coro hinted that Rockruff and the starters have a special "secret".

You have a point. I do think that while some things get balanced, there are other things Game Freak doesn't care about when it comes to balance, like you said certain Mega Evolutions.

I do wonder if that new disc-like move Ash Greninja was shown using in an anime preview may be related to these new "powerful moves" though.

It also says, More powerful than ANY seen before. That to me says the moves are extremely powerful because they are more powerful than even the hyper beam attacks and what not.

Does that mean , This time we will get moves that can destroy Planet or Starts.
Considering that many pokemon moves can destroy mountains and this New Attacks are suppose to be stronger then those attack.

  • Yeah, I think it's just promotion. We could get more new moves introduced than any other generation, but much more powerful? Unlikely.

  • I knew that this was the supposed new mechanic, since it was shown to be used on the starters. The question is, what else can this bracelet do?

What I want to guess is that there's a different colored gem for each type, you choose one, put it in, and that gem is the only type you can synchro/get a super move with with during battle.

Also there's a circular slot on the underside for backwards compatibility with mega evolving I'm assuming.

Interesting you pointed that out because I believed Megas were going to be gone after just one generation but I guess the bracelet kinda doubles as a Mega Bracelet after all with that round insert there.

  • So powered-up moves as a new mechanic plus the possibility of Mega-Evolution in one bracelet? The competitive scene for next year definitely looks interesting for sure.

And complicated if I may add. Though I want to bet more with the "new mechanics" thingy
with more reasonable objective/s and condition/s to meet. They also have to consider that the
new feature can't be limited to few selected Pokémon and try to broaden the variety of Pokés
    that can use it.

It is a new mechanic that I'm not excited about, but some might like the boosted attacks and it might promote people actually keeping their starter in their battling team.

You do have a point, since the Alola starters are among the few Pokemon said to hold this mechanic and maybe it might serve as an incentive to keep Rowlet/Litten/Popplio around since they are meant to be your strongest battler and proud partner.

  • Perhaps Mega Evolution will also be relevant to the storyline that connects with the new powerful moves mechanic. I'm pretty sure they will be connected some how as both have similar concepts both involving the connection between the trainer and Pokemon. On that note I would like to see a few more mega evolutions for some of the Sinnoh and Kalos Pokemon.

Those special moves look really impressive. I wonder what they'll do to the metagame. The starters (and also pikachu it looks like) have been shown using special moves so far. They're all quite special pokemon so it's too soon to say whether or not they'll be available to all pokemon or just a select few.
