I'm not approving your thread because it belongs in the quick r&d section. However, I can tell you that that works, and it has been done before. I have actually seen the routine myself in FR(E), though I can't remember exactly where it is.
I came across it while creating forme changes because it is called when processing the images.Take a FR(E) rom and go to 0x0800F108. This is the general location of the front sprite loader for the opponent in battle. Somewhere in there, either higher or lower, there is a bl to the shiny calculator. Let me know how it goes!
