I'm not sure about iOS, but if you're on Android, you can play using Joiplay, but you can't use the version from the Google Play Store as it doesn't support what's needed for Pokémon Essentials/RPG Maker XP games. There's a thread here that has some info on playing RPG Maker games using Joiplay...

Yeah I can see how that would be confusing. The Johto update changed it so HM items are what you use out of combat rather than HMs. In the HMs list the items and their locations are listed at the bottom :smile:

Try asking around the Pokémon Lab on Cinnabar next to the mart, below the mansion :)

Ah gotcha, sorry for misunderstanding! The save file should be in: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\GAMENAME There's just the one though, it doesn't use save states like, say, a rom hack would/could.

Yeah you'll want to start a fresh save or you may run into an issue 10-15 minutes into Johto that won't let you progress. It'll be worth it though, a lot of stuff got added to Kanto!

I'm having this issue too, but actually a bit worse. After going to Team B's room as Misty and getting Brock's B team, when I tried to return to the gym, I actually enter Brock's Team A room with Merk standing in my way, so I'm stuck.

Yep it's still in, make sure to chat with each NPC you come across, there'll be a prompt hinting for you to go there 🙂 I don't think it's in as I haven't gotten one after beating the game, but I definitely could have missed one somewhere.
