As usual, you don't know what you're saying... the first DayNight we made (the last December) was an IGC dayNight... HackMew can confirm that IGC is easy to make. I will check the dayNight, and maybe i will release an IGC version, despite i hate it...
But in this way you get a clock "in-game"... so it doesn't say the REAL time, but a time that depends of hours of playing... You described the "easy" way, RTC is the "hard" way...
The only way to do a clock that say the real hour IMHO is writing a ASM routine that get informations from RTC... If someone succeded in it (not HackMew, that did another thing) please contact me (if he want)...
HackMew's Day/Night for fire red is based on a clock in the game (IGC clock) that doesn't simulate the real hours (so in HackMew's Day-Night the night come after, for example, five hours of playing). Our Day-Night instead must follow the real hour, like it do for Ruby and Sapphire... But in Fire...
ehm, stop ask that, please... We already said more and more times that we are going to make the tool usable for fire Red... but it will probably take a long time
Oh, it's only because i planned to expand the tool at FRLG before fixing bugs... But it's only curiosity... Because I thought about this a long time and i have no other ideas except RTC reading... Do you think it is better fixing bugs before proceeding?
@Omega:
I definitely misunderstood you... Sorry, I'm not very good in English. So, you really found a way to use the clock in FRLG? I'm very interested, really... It's about a month i'm trying to read RTC and I haven't success in it... And I had understood that you haven't knowing in ASM... I...
