This only apply to people who don't have the BIOS and Firmware files, as well as having their ROMs decrypted in the first place. So yeah, I always use the GBA BIOS, making sure the ROMs I play are encrypted. Hence HG/SS all finished without any patches or AR codes.

...? Perhaps you don't have the firmware files if your emulator keeps crashing like that when using the BIOS start up? I was able to run a clean ROM just fine with the BIOS start-up along with firmware files on the same folder as no$GBA. Also, my version is 2.6a.
