Start with an engine like unity, love2d or moai. Then choose the language lua or c#, get an introductory book read it until things start to click then dive into a project you think you can do. Start small! Really small.
Don't bother with c++ and never try and c++ from the web too many tutorials...
I think to start with you need a strong vision you can sell to team members and backers to get them excited. Then proof of tech as soon as possible, like minimum viable product, which is playable and demonstrates the key features. The longer it takes to get to this first stage the harder it will...
Your editor looks great! I usually use Tiled, the opensource tilemap editor but you cant beat one you've made for really fitting your needs. C# is hard to beat for making tools fast!
