In G/S/C, the window that your rival snuck through to steal a Pokemon never gets closed. In your house (the one you start in), you have your own room, but what about your mother's? When you use flash in the old games, the whole cave is lit up. The light never goes out.

Well, you see, if I lived in a Pokemon world, I would grow up with a Gastly as my friend. That way I won't need a starter. My final team would be... Gengar Crobat Politoed Electrode Scizor Dragonite Not the best combination, but I like it nonetheless.

I also agree with anime style speaking. I would much rather talk to a critter that says their name than a bzzt kind of noise. Or a kwawk. Or some other miscellaneous noise.

Yeah, it does suck. I was looking for it today (after putting it aside for a while) and I could only find the Wireless Adapter, the strategy guide I got after I beat it, and my beloved Zubat plushie. I couldn't even find my charger for my SP, so I'm stuck with lightless GBA.

I would say Yellow and Emerald. I don't know why, but there's just that thing about them. Really, Emerald's really peculiar to me, and Yellow's too dang cute.

If I were in the tough pickle that you were in, I'd get both. IMO, it'd be a tad bit easier to understand XD if you did Colosseum, but not much.
