I'm bringing this topic over here because I know the mods prune most off-topic discussion - anyway, my avatar is just Jellicent's mustache pasted onto Kyurem's face, but the actual sprites I was talking about in that thread can be found here.
Well, they seem kinda shoddy to me anyway. But I...
Black Kyurem looks more neato. But it's great to see that the poll is almost exactly even right now - it means that Nintendo possibly put a lot of work into making sure that there wouldn't be much bias when buying the games (or maybe I'm reading too much into this).
I'd be happy with about 100 if they were all fairly unique. 150 would be optimum, because anything past 200 seems like too much. But you should go for good type coverage in that case - making fifty generic normal-types in a 150-strong dex is inexcusable.
I haven't seen any really compelling ROMhacks (I never downloaded ShinyGold because the 8-year-old in me demands a PolishedSilver) except Touhoumon, that was pretty fun. I'm not one for serious stories or Generation IV/V inserts, so playing something identical to FireRed but with an all-new set...
I joined for pro ROMhacking advice and tool downloading. I also posted some shoddily done sprites but mostly I've been lurking in the Tutorials section.
I got a Modest Zekrom and have been relentlessly scouring the Internet for ways to make this work.
But it has like three unwanted EVs on it and I don't have any of the EV-clearing berries so mostly I just feel depressed about it.
Yeah, back in the outlining phase I was undecided on how organic to make the shapes, so Creepegg is quite blocky. Everything else should end up fairly non-cubic, though, except possibly the zombie (I can't sprite people-shaped things at all).
I'm not good at art, but here's a technical tip:
You saved it as a .jpeg, which adds noise and ruins the quality if you want anything with large areas of the same colour (like pixel art...).
In the future, use .png - it doesn't do any compression and your images will stay clear.
Making every Minecraft mob a (hack-compatible) 64x64 sprite out of boredom
I've been pursuing the idea of making a Pokéminecraft hack thing lately, and step one was spriting. It ended up way better than I was expecting, but these are the two things that still annoy me:
BACKSPRITES. I can...
I reset about 20 times until I got a Timid one.
Ever since then I've been afraid to touch it, terrified that the slightest misstep would cause the shinyness to come off.
It's my only shiny Pokémon ever (ever since I played the original Silver...) so training it will have to wait until I have...
Competitively, from what I've seen it would be some Dragon move that everyone uses. (Draco Meteor? Dragon Dance?) Or Earthquake. Everyone loves Earthquake.
I can't hate these games.
Pokémon Silver was my first video game ever and I spent hundreds of hours on it. Five years after I lost it, I was still humming the bike song even though I had forgotten where it was from.
When I ended up playing SoulSilver and I rode the bike for the first time, it...
Trapped already! NUUUUUUUU
But this place is great, the last forum I was on getting a private message was usually "You have been reported because the moderators cannot be reasoned with". I'm still scared whenever I see I have a notification :( I'm sure it'll go away eventually.
