    Development: Gen III Split Disassembly

So tell me, how are you going to handle Japanese letters? According to Bulbapedia, the third generation of Pokémon games were the first Pokémon games to be cross-compatible between the Japanese versions and the international versions. This isn't really that obvious due to the lack of internet...

    All-Instrument Patch (FireRed, Ruby, Emerald)

The reason why it sounds alright in Sappy but not in GBA is because Sappy's implementation of the sound engine is flawed. Aside from songs sounding different in Sappy than within the ROM, the program also tends to crash if a certain music instruction is passed to it (explaining why you can't...

    All-Instrument Patch (FireRed, Ruby, Emerald)

I'd just like to point out that it's the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth that comes with every Windows system that sucks when it comes to the quality of the samples, not the synthesizer its soundset's based upon (the Roland SC-55). The Roland SC-55 uses higher quality versions of the samples...

    Quick Research & Development Thread

Someone on YouTube who goes under the username of "Pokechu22" had discovered a hidden debug function within Pokémon FireRed just by fiddling around with a glitch Pokémon. nLh0UvL7ihc When he shared his discovery on Bulbapedia, someone pointed out that the "backup save memory" mentioned within...

6th Gen "No, you're not the one." [SPOILER]

Mount Pyre is a grave yard full of ghost Pokémon. The way the hex maniac behaved in X and Y implied she was a spirit. I think her cameo in Mount Pyre is a nod to this fact.

    Research: Pokemon Bank Protocol

First and foremost, we need to know how the 3DS connects to Nintendo Network, since Pokémon Bank needs it to work. (Even if it's just for logging in or for obtaining information about the user in order to match up with its own record of your stuff.)

    3ds emulater?

I, uh, confused Fail0verflow for Team Twiizers. Everyone makes mistakes, here. :P And thanks for the info about how they did the stack overflow exploit.

    6th Gen Pokemon Bank

I think you're confusing Pokémon Bank with Poké transporter, which was put back up in Japan for those who've downloaded Pokémon Bank before it was taken down. Serebii still says Pokémon Bank's unable to be downloaded from the eshop in every region (Japan included).

    6th Gen Pokemon Bank

Not all Japanese people. Only those who downloaded it from the eshop before it was taken down from the Japanese eshop.

    3ds emulater?

As far as I know, Smeal's exploit involves going to the system settings and viewing something (I think save data). And, as you said, it's a cat-and-mouse game. Meaning, Nintendo can make it harder and harder for it to work in ways that it's not intended to work in by, for example, by...

    3ds emulater?

I agree. This is Nintendo's motivation for making it difficult to hack the 3DS: to prevent piracy.

    3ds emulater?

In case you guys don't know: I'm not saying it's impossible to hack the 3DS. I'm saying that it's difficult. Anyway, just because it's sandboxed doesn't mean that the firmware itself can't detect that it's sandboxed and thus react accordingly. And who says Nintendo can't get clever and perform...

    3ds emulater?

What I mean by "OS" is that the OS is much more involved with the 3DS functions on 3DS mode compared to the original NDS, which is why it, like the Wii U, has parts of the 3DS memory reserved for it, why you can access the home menu while the game's running, the fact that it's the 3DS's OS...

    3ds emulater?

Adding on to what machomuu said, if you were to read this thread, you'd find out that an actual working 3DS emulator doesn't exist yet.

    3ds emulater?

There's also the point of having to emulate the 3DS's operating system in order to emulate the system properly, and the fact that apparently, the latest firmware blocks Gateway and other flashcards. The former is very difficult unless you have the actual ROM images of the firmware/OS. The fact...
