If there's anything physical on PC in NYC, I'll more likely than not go. If not, lmk what you guys want. My history in PC, however, is quite limited to its humble beginnings to about 1-2 years after the pe2k split, though. 2010 I think was the last time I even step foot in the forums. lol
Persecutor isn't really THAT good in MBC and really you can do without if you don't want to shell out the bucks. I'm not even sure if he's THAT much better than say bloodwitch against PW's and stuff.
Rest of the deck looks pretty standard, except 21 lands is going to hurt you a lot as a control...
Lands:
Errr... I believe the land pool is something like:
3 Gemstone Mine
4 Blood crypt/Badlands
4 geothermal crevice
4 Tinder Farm
1 Irrigation Ditch
If you want to go slow but sure
or:
4 Gemstone Mine
4 Blood crypt
4 Badlands
4 Mountain
If you want to be more "all in".
-4 Skittering
+4 Lotus...
-1 shortcutter, +1 bushwacker (maybe -2 shortcutter for +2 buchwacker)
In general I find Wacker's pump + haste to be more effective.
-1 peaks, +1 mountain
Peaks at 3 still feels a bit uncomfortable, as I don't want to see it until it's my 4th land at earliest.
Should probably maindeck some...
Games don't end in blowouts in standard. If you draw edge, you will be able to use it 100% of the time. Decks like Jund are dog to edges specifically because they're so colour dependent. Often times you can shut off 1 entire colour just by edging against their single nonbasic source.
White...
Yeah I think you can kick free spells, not that kicking burst lightning's any good. There's only 1 good cascade spell for this deck, and I have to dip into black for it. Burst lightning is better in general except when dealing with the problem creatures. Bloodghast will END this deck without...
A natural response.
It's definitely a possibility. Bounce creatures get more uses, but is vulnerable to discard disruption. Perhaps a balance would work out. Then again, we have Norin. :3
I can see unearth, but the target/sac guys usually aren't worth it IMO.
I'd put edges at 3 myself, just because of the ridiculous number of targets available right now (oran rief, emeria, crypt, valakut, manlands, tri lands being the obvious).
