Playing this new version has brought back a lot of the same feelings I had playing the original all those years ago. It still feels like Brown, but its had a lot of nice updates. I appreciate all the work that you all have done for this new version, and it's honestly helped re-inspire interest...
I will definitely have to give this new version a play through. Finding the OG version of Brown by complete accident is what got me into Rom Hacking all those years ago, so seeing one of my hacks (Red++) listed in the credits made teenage me squee and feel like she finally made it as a hacker.
Those maps would not be possible on this base as it is. Red++ v4 does not actually use Red as the base anymore, it uses a heavily modified version of crystal as the base and modified things so much that Rangi had to make a different map editor for us to use. To do tilesets like that with this...
As weird as it sounds, is the filename ".png" or ".PNG" because I ran into this exact problem in the past with pokered, and it was because the file extensions were in all caps instead of lowercase. The file extensions need to be in lowercase for the disassemblies.
