I'm a newcomer to the Pokecommunity forums, but I am already enjoying myself plenty here!

I'm a nineteen-year-old film major in Utah, USA. I am a member of the LDS (commonly known as Mormon) Church, and plan on serving a full-time mission for the period of two years starting in June, 2014.

I'm a self taught piano player of seven years and percussion player of six years, with most of the music I play being music in popular video games and various modern day musical artists.

I have played Pokemon since before I even started learning how to read, with my first game being Pokemon Red Version on my yellow Gameboy Color. I still remember my dad giving my the game on the release day, even though I had no idea what Pokemon was at the time. I practiced most of my kindergarten reading skills while playing that game, although on my second playthrough, since I had beaten it entirely the first time before I had begun reading. It's helped me to have a deeper connection than most other players of the franchise, I feel. ^^

Ever since then, I have played most of the games since, including console games. My favorite of any console side Pokemon games would definitely have to be Pokemon Colosseum on the Nintendo Gamecube.

My favorite thing to do in the main line of the Pokemon games is to shiny hunt, being fascinated with them ever since my luck of finding a shiny Swinub way back in my Crystal Version. First step into that freezing cave and bam! I caught my first shiny pokemon ever and I've been hooked ever since.

I haven't ever been much of a competitive battler, but I have been trying harder to sharpen my skills ever since the release of the 6th Gen games. Although I did participate in a few online tournaments back in Platinum Version. If you have any tips, I would be very grateful!
