I'm not sure if this sounds strange or not, but I stare at amazing digital art, and analyze what techniques they use for w/e and then pick it up. That's pretty much what I did do create 2.0 elephants and pulsar star, so just act like a stalker for awhile and learn techiniques from badass artists...
