The anime is losely based on the games. They use only the design of some of the characters. The manga Poke Special is more faithful regarding world building and plot, but still has drastic differences. About Shauna, she's undoubtedly flirting with Calem, also Serena is another love choice...

For XY, I want a WOW plot, like BW and Platinum, get more focus on Malva, AZ, Lysandre and Sycamore - all of them are good characters with great potential and need to be futher developed. And... flesh out Diantha, turn her your friend like Steven or Cynthia, or a anti-hero, don't know... Or...

I think a live action is not good for Pokemon. Mostly because the anime mostly known, and Ash Ketchum and it's plot don't make a good move. Pokemon Special would make a greatCG animation, and maybe a good movie, having a GREAT luck with the director. I have no faith on Hollywood movies...
